Change in the rating of european countries in connection with the debt crisis

This paper deals with the rating with a focus on finding the main causes of changes in the rating during the debt crisis in Europe. The first chapter describes the main characters, types of rating and differences between the rating and other evaluation methods. Next part of this paper is about the world-wide rating agencies. In the end I analyze changes in ratings on the specific examples of European countries, on which had the debt crisis the greatest impact.
Large banking groups

The study is mapping various aspects of the present financial system phenomenon - large international financial and banking groups. It shows how the international community tries to resolve a trilemma which is linked to the existence of the large financial groups. The proposed measures on the global as well as on the European Union levels are assessed. The most efficient ones are those aimed in scaling down of these institutions and in a divestment of their activities as they conditioned the provision of the state aid. The study also evaluates proposals to raise capital adequacy and resolution of the large institutions. It mentions their possible negative impact on the banking sectors of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Komaparace zátěžových testů bank v EU a v ČR

This bachelor thesis deals with the problems of stress testing in the Czech Republic and the rest of Europe. The first theoretical section includes detailed information about applied methodology, the process of stress testing, the IRB approach and the verification of stress tests. The second, key area of thesis is the European wide-stress test in 2011 and four stress tests conducted by the Czech National Bank in the Czech Republic in 2011. The scenarios used in testing and results of concrete tests are desribed here. The thesis also includes a comparison of European stress tests with those made by Czech National Bank. The subpart is a description of micro-stress testing in the Czech Republic.
Appraisal credit analysis as a tool for reducing credit risk

This thesis deals with the bank's credit risk, its characterization and classification, followed-up by methods and tools used to its managing and reducing. The methods used refer to credit rating, credit scoring, credit registers and qualified estimation as subjective assessment element, which is further analysed in detail. In the theoretical part, the thesis defines factors impacting the business risk and provides view on financial risk evaluation. The analytical part deals with specific model credit risk assessment of the selected subject, based on techniques described in the theoretical part. In conclusion, there is evaluation of using various methods and their importance in practice.
Comparison of the activities of the Fed and the ECB

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the activities of the Federal Reserve System and European Central Bank. It is consistent with the historical development since the FED and ECB came into existence. The aim of the thesis is to compare these two central banks. The first chapter describes the history of the FED, its' organizational structure and the tasks that it is responsible for, as about second part, it deals with the historical development of the European central bank, its' structure and tasks and third chapter focuses directly on a comparison of activities of the FED and ECB, particularly of their monetary policies. This part compare FED and ECB in terms of independence, accountability and transparency. The last chapter tries to analyse the economic developments in the USA and euro area and the answer to the question what the role FED and ECB plays in managing the economy.
causes and consequences of debt of selected EU countries

The bachelor thesis deals with causes of excessive public debt and searches for reasons of outbreak of sovereign debt crisis in Greece. The first chapter explains terms as of public debt and deficit which are crucial for purpose of this thesis. The second chapter contains political -- economic development from Second world war to entry to Eurozone and subsequent revision of Greek statistical data in 2004. The last chapter describes causes of excessive public debt, reasons of outbreak of sovereign debt crisis and emergency measurements which were supposed to reverse the negative situation in the country. The end of the third chapter is complemented with forecast of feasible development in Greece and whole Eurozone.
Consumer credit market development in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis maps the development of banking and nonbanking consumer credits in the Czech Republic since its formation to the end of the year 2011. It tracks particularly the changes of the loan volume, the interest rates and the bank charges. It also compares currently available loan offers and maps the actual situation. The aim of the work is to help to the consumers in orientation of the relevant market and to serve to the interested persons as a working material.
Regulator´s response to the crisis – European rating agency

Bachelor thesis follows the development of European regulation of the rating market and other important milestones for this market. Each point is elaborated with causality and criticized. The main emphasis is on analyzing the current project of the European rating agency. In addition to introduction and evaluation the specifics of the project the thesis provides conclusions regarding the validity and usefulness based on consultation with the portfolio managers of Czech banks and insurance companies.
Default of households as the indicator of the financial stability

This thesis deals with the default of households as one of the indicators of financial stability in the Czech Republic. Specifically, it studies increasing indeptedness of households and risks which endanger financial system. The aim is to analyze the main macroeconomic and microeconomic factors that affect households default and to determine their dependence on the non-performing loans. The conclusion summarizes the results of the thesis and suggests recommendations for central and commercial banks.

The thesis "Operational risk management in financial institution" is focused on description, types of measurements, methods of control, analysis and possibilities for reducing of operational risk. The first part describes and defines operational risk and discusses the Basel accords. Next part is focused on operational risk management, methods reducing operational risk and there is also described the organizational structure of the bank associated with operational risk. The thesis also describes the methods of calculating of capital requirements and methods measuring operational risk. The practical part describes the most significant operational risk events and there is also a comparison analysis of calculation of capital requirement the specific bank.
