Transportation systems in waste management
Koutná, Marie ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to elaborate on transport systems in waste management as they represent a key part of the waste management process. Its theoretical part covers legislation in waste management and sorts and systems of household waste collection. In the practical part there are commercially used vehicles chosen out and the fixed costs of their operation determined. Based on operation data, average velocities in an out of urban areas are calculated. As an outcome of a waste transport prices software, the influence of transport distance and waste mass are described, taking the average velocities into account.
The environmental aspects of biomass boilers operation
Slavíček, Martin ; Urban, Lukáš (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The content of this thesis focuses on the subject of biomass usage for energetic purposes. The introduction deals with the renewable energetic resources and their utilization and utilization of the biomass as a fuel, its division and characteristics. The following part deals with the legislation in the Czech Republic for the machinery used for combustion of biomass and its standards. Examples of different technology used in boilers and generators for biomass is mentioned as well. Then the biomass emissions with their specific values are discussed.
Effective use of 3D Cad systems in the field of process engineering-II
Marek, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Radek (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this work was adoption and description of correct technigues of creation basic mechanical components under CAD system SolidWorks. This gained know ledge was then used for creation of library of standard parts used in process engineering with focus on design of pipeline systems. Conceretaly, the assembly of flouged circular Y-branch for duct system was solved. The possibility for its further modification of dimension as well as transformation into parts of similar shape was analysed. Finally, user manual describing the user interface and necessary design procedures was prepared.
Effective use of 3D Cad systems in the field of process engineering-III
Hájek, Zdeněk ; Dvořák, Radek (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The thesis is concentrated on point of effective use of 3D CAD system SolidWorks in process engineering. This system is able to use for pipe systems besides its commonly expanded support in standard mechanical engineering. The aim is to create the library of standard parts and to create data for teaching SolidWorks in process engineering. Data are created in text form and in video form as instructing videos. The first part of the thesis contains the description of SolidWorks system, all its functions and modules. The second part contains the description of right procedures of individual parts, assemblies and drawing documentations creation. We aimed on conversion of circle-square air-conditioning pipe and flanges. The evaluation of all points of issue is mentioned in the conclusion.
Dispersion studies for logistic problems
Dvořáček, Jan ; Šomplák, Radovan (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis deals with the application of dispersion modelling of emissions from stationary sources of pollution as a potential tool which can be used for data preparation in reverse logistic models. In this case, the stationary source is represented by a waste-to-energy plant. The thesis consists of two main parts -- theoretical and computational. Firstly, emission sources and pollutants originating in thermal waste treatment are discussed. In the second chapter, legislation linked to the problem of air pollution is listed and the topics of current air quality in the Czech Republic and dispersion studies are outlined. Closing section of the theoretical part provides information about the principals of dispersion calculations and classification of dispersion models is given. In the computational part, the used dispersion software SYMOS'97 is introduced and the series of conducted calculations is presented. The calculations investigated the influence of plant capacity, dispersion conditions and terrain on the results. The input data of plant capacity and wind rose were indicated as key parameters in the calculation. The final evaluation revealed a good potential of the used dispersion model as a support tool in reverse logistic models.
Simulation of technologies for thermal treatment of waste
Venhoda, Tomáš ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This thesis mainly deals with the thermal treatment of waste - hazardous waste incineration and energy recovery municipal waste incinerators - their descriptions and analysis of legislative conditions. The flue gas cleaning system energy production in different operating modes is assessed by energy and mass balances. Computational models are developed for this purpose. On this basis, productions of energy from thermal treatment of hazardous and communal waste were compared.
Potential of Solar Drying of Sewage Sludge in Czech Republic
Prášek, Dalibor ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Elsässer, Thomas (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis deals with a question of the current methods of treatment of sewage sludge. The aim of this Thesis is to describe processes and equipment in the wastewater treatment plant, particularly facilities for processing sludge and create investment calculation adding solar drying of sludge in the sludge ending of wastewater treatment plants.
System for energy intensity evaluation in professional laundry process
Bobák, Petr ; Kšenzuliak, Vladimír (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This thesis tries to solve a problem of energy intensity evaluation in professional laundry process via analysis of factors, which influence the energy intensity of the process and presents some computational tools needed for this challenge.
Influence of socio-economic factors on the composition of waste: statistical approach
Jordánová, Petra ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with comparison of mixed municipal waste in different areas in the Czech Republic. Statistical apparatus needed for subsequent data is described in the first part. There is discussed problematics of random variable, the probability distribution and hypotheses that will be used in this work. The second part involves a data set analysis. The merit of this thesis is hypothesis testing of the difference in mixed municipal waste composition between chosen areas and built-up area types. At the end an approach for estimate of impact factors of waste composition using correlation and regression analysis will be given. This work brings a benefit in current stratification evaluation process and recommendation of changes in selected factors.
Effective operation of up-to-date waste-to-energy units
Cafourková, Tereza ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
The main content of this thesis is a suggestion of computing system for efficient energy manufacture. The introduction devotes to description of up-to-date waste-to-energy units (EVO), it concentrates on Incinerator of municipal wastes of TERMIZO a.s., specifically. In the main body of this work is the data analysis of factory journal that has been implemented, results have been used as mathematical model output value. These activities are necessary for computing system suggestion. Resulting optimization of batch wasting plan with maximum economic effect for entrepreneur is the main output of this work. Conclusion consists of environmental and economic evaluation of operation of up-to-date waste-to-energy units and offers another optimization posibility.
