The Flow Field in the Entrance Part of a Wind Tunnel

The work deals with numerical solution of 3D viscous steady incompressible flow of air passing though the entrance part of a new wind tunnel for the Aerodynamic Laboratory in Nový Knín. The aim of this work was to apply the numerical simulation of the flow into the design process of the nozzle in order to verify the quallity of the design.

The aim of this work was to apply the numerical simulation of the flow into the design process of the nozzle in order to verify the quality of the design. The numerical simulation was carried out using the Fluent 6.1 solver. The mesh was prepared using the pre-processor Gambit 2.0.
Numerical investigation of flow phenomena in radial-flow pump at low NPSH value

Cavitating flow in the impeller of a single-stage radial-flow pump at optimal flow rate and different values of NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) is analyzed numerically using the VOF model of CFX-TASCflow. The size and the shape of the cavitation regions near NPSH3 agree well with the cavitation visualization inside the impeller at similar flow conditions.
The influence of back pressure on the flow structure in the mixing chamber of an ejector

The flow in entrance part of the mixing chamber of twodimensional model of supersonic ejector was studied by means of the schlieren method and the interferometric method. Conditions for transonic instability were determined.

Numerical solution of the 3D Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equation is based on FEM. The turbulence is modelled through the high Reynolds number k-epsilon model. The cavitation region is modelled as a region of the lower density . The local radius of cavitating bubbles is obtained as a solution of Rayleigh-Plesset equation. The flow past the blades of an axial flow mixer is calculated.

The paper deals with numerical solutions of 3D viscous steady flows of incompressible fluid in the entrance nozzle. The turbulent secondary flow in corners is observed. Conventional nozzle and optimized nozzle were compared.
