No-Cement Corundum Refractory Castables.
Novobilská, Martina ; Kovář,, Pavel (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem of no-cement corundum refractory castables. In the theoretical part, it focuses on NCC refractory and its use, production technology and input raw materials. The second part of the theoretical work deals with MgAl2O4 spinel. The practical part of the thesis then continues in the topic and focuses on cement-free refractory concrete and the influence of MgO content on their properties.
Production of refractory aggregate in blast furnaces
Zemánek, David ; Tvrdík,, Lukáš (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Firing of refractory aggregate takes place in blast or rotary furnaces. Raw materials for firing are refractory clays, claystones and shales. Sorting and sieving is performed before firing, in which occurs to formation of the fine clay. This waste is not useful for firing in common way in blast furnaces. Possibility, how to solve this problem, seems to be briquetting of fine clays. This method of proccesing fine clays brings with it new possibilities in refractory aggregate production. By adding a suitable correction material, such as mullite powder, special refractory grog with required properties can be produced on customers wishes.
The Concept of Repair Technology of Earthen Roofs
Trchalík, Jaroslav ; Nevřivová, Lenka (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the technology of redevelopment rehabilitation of the clay roof in the area of the Indian Himalayas. Within the theoretical part is described the history of clay structures in the world to the present. Next part of the thesis describes clay as a building material. Also described is Ladak Country, which is located in the area of the Indian Himalayas, and the reconstruction of the Gonkhang Sanctuary roof in the Buddhist monastýry in the village of Diskit. The partical part is focused on the design of mixtures of individual part sof the roof compositions and the examination of thein kompatibility with the selected foil.
Technological Possibilities of Using Waste Claystone for Manufacturing Refractory Grog burned in blast furnaces
Konečný, Martin ; Tvrdík,, Lukáš (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Aluminosilicate refractory grog are being manufactured by firing refractory clays, claystone and shale. Firing takes place mainly in rotary or blast furnaces. However, when adjusting the raw material before firing in blast furnaces, the formation of the fine clay particles takes place. It is not possible to fire the fine particles in blast furnaces the usual way, which leads to the generation of waste. There is a possibility, however, to form briquettes of these particles, which can be fired in blast furnaces. This solution also brings the possibility of adjusting the mixture by using correction raw materials or other types of clay. Using this method, it is possible to produce a special refractory grog with specific properties.
The Effect of Thermal Exposure of the Porosity and Mineralogy of Dense Silica Bricks.
Janek, Ondřej ; Kotouček, Miroslav (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Silica bricks is a refractory building material which contains at least 93 % of silicon dioxide in polymorphic forms, mostly -tridymite, -cristobalite and unreacted -quartz. In glass industry is used for building crowns of glass tanks and in coke industry is used for building coke oven batteries. The advantage is the high refractoriness under load, high resistance to acidic melts. The disadvantage is the low resistance to changes in temperature below 600 °C. The thesis deals with the influence of repeated firing on the silica bricks and to its porous structure and mineralogical composition.
Methodology of Determination of Electroinsulating Properties
Čanigová, Veronika ; Nevřivová, Lenka (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The core of this bachelor thesis is porcelain and electrical porcelain property specification accompanied by definition and explanation of electric conductivity. The theoretical section provides insight into electrical porcelain production from initial raw material exploitation to final stages of body baking. The experimental part compiles a number of electrical porcelain test methods based on current European standards and draft test procedures, which are followed in order to specify properties of conventional electrical porcelain as well as emerging anorthite porcelain based on aluminate cement.
Chemical Additives Effect on the Properties of Ceramic Mass.
Sarvaš, Ondřej ; Sokolář, Radomír (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis focuses on chemical additives used in the ceramic industry. There are described commonly used additives mainly in the fields of fine ceramic and special ceramic, as well as less utilized additives. The experimental part focuses on the influence of the additive BioKeram made by Borregaard for ceramic mass in the brick industry used for hollow clay blocks. A special focus is on the effect on rheological properties of the ceramic mass and a minor focus is on physical and mechanical properties of burned ceramic body.
The Issue of Castable Corrosion.
Novobilská, Martina ; Kovář,, Pavel (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of corrosion of refractory concretes. The theoretical part focuses on the different types of corrosion and their occurrence and form in the various types of incinerators. Methodology of their testing is also described in this part. Refractory concrete resistance against corrosion is closely linked to its composition. Therefore, the practical part of this work focuses on the use of mixtures of aluminum oxides with a hydraulic binder, and subsequently their corrosion tests.
Optimization of Working Mass Composition for Dense Silica Bricks Production.
Maňák, Jan ; Lang,, Karel (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
A silica bricks is a refractory material which is used mainly in coke industry, glass industry and metallurgy. This material constitute of the quartz modifications. Compact silica is an irreplaceable part of the coke battery and its compactness and robustness is important for quality and long endurance. Very important for large compactness is a grain curve of work matter. This thesis deals with influence of different grain of work matter.
Effect of acidic influence on the refractory castable with different cement content.
Mátl, Daniel ; Henek,, Milan (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
There are applications of refractory concretes for places where these are exposed to corrosive environments. This diploma thesis deals with both description the corrosive effects and methodology of their testing. One of the most important properties of materials, affecting the chemical corrosion resistance, is their density. The practical part of the thesis is focused on testing the refractory concretes which are currently used for applications. The aggregates were tested for the resistance to sulfuric acid.
