Stress relaxation in partially pyrolysed SiOC materials
Halasová, Martina ; Chlup, Zdeněk ; Černý, Martin ; Strachota, Adam ; Dlouhý, Ivo
This paper focuses on the difficulty with Vickers hardness evaluation of SiOC materials. To evaluate it, diagonals of an indent are crucial. Due to stress relaxation in experimental material it was not possible to evaluate it in the whole range of experimental temperatures. As experimental materials were used two types of commercialy available polysiloxane resins, pyrolysed in range from 400 to 1000°C.
Henrik Ibsen: An Enemy of the People - Complex Scenic Design
Dvořák, Pavel ; ČERNÝ, Martin (advisor) ; GLOGR, Karel (referee)
Theoretical part of this work is concerned about historical roots of the theatre play Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen. It is also concerned about history of Estate Theater in Pra-gue, where the play should take place. I am also concerned about the background of the author Henrik Ibsen's life. And also part of the work is about other previews authors, that have been working on the play before. In Practical part I offer new solution for visual part of the drama in context of present time and space.
Identity management in the bank
Gustab, Tomáš ; Svatá, Vlasta (advisor) ; Černý, Miroslav (referee)
The main focus of this thesis is to analyse the identity management of Czech bank. The author deals with the authentication and authorization of bank employees, the lifecycle of identities and also suggests the operational improvement of systems that relate to identity management. The aim is to show the view from every angle on identity management, highlight the problems and propose countermeasures, respectively measures to improve the identity management running. The main methods of research are analysis of documents, unstructured interview with employees and observation of systems operation. The benefit of this work is in providing author's opinion and recommendations, which can lead to an overall better running identity management in the bank.
Algorithms for various geometric problems over zonotopes and their applications in optimization and data analysis
Rada, Miroslav ; Černý, Michal (advisor) ; Vlach, Milan (referee) ; Kopa, Miloš (referee)
The thesis unifies the most important author's results in the field of algorithms concerning zonotopes and their applications in optimization and statistics. The computational-geometric results consist of a new compact output-sensitive algorithm for enumerating vertices of a zonotope, which outperforms the rival algorithm with the same complexity-theoretic properties both theoretically and empirically, and a polynomial algorithm for arbitrarily precise approximation of a zonotope with the Löwner-John ellipsoid. In the application area, the thesis presents a result, which connects linear regression model with interval outputs with the zonotope matters. The usage of presented geometric algorithms for solving a nonconvex optimisation problem is also discussed.
Odhad zajišťovacího poměru (Hedge Ratio) v řízení zásob
Máková, Barbora ; Černý, Michal (advisor) ; Cahlík, Tomáš (referee)
Companies dependent on commodities for their production have to deal with volatile commodity prices and should employ measures for risk reduction as unfavourable spot price development may cause significant losses. A useful tool for diminishing the risk is hedging on futures market; however, this approach faces a crucial question of optimal hedge ratio determination (ratio between spot and futures units). Our thesis examines nine different ways of optimal hedge ratio estimation (naive, Sharpe, mean extended Gini coefficient, generalized semivariance, value at risk, and minimum variance through OLS, error correction, GARCH, and bivariate GARCH models) and evaluates their efficiency using the data on eight different commodities. The results differ across the respective commodities and cannot be generalized. Two conclusions resulting from the analysis refer to performance of naive and OLS hedge ratios and constant vs time varying hedge ratios. We find that complex hedge ratios, such as bivariate GARCH or VaR hedge ratios, do not outperform naive and OLS hedge ratios and that the results of constant hedge ratios are mostly as good as results of time-varying hedge ratios.
Web application containing the information about exchange rates on the Slovak and Czech market
Stríž, Oliver ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Černý, Michael (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make the market analysis and to test my theorem. I work with hypothesis that people who are visiting web portals containing the information about exchange rates can use the application for finding exchange rates from multiple banks in different countries simultaneously. The users consider this application very useful and also very beneficial because of the tool what shows them which bank is more favorable to change the money - either in the home country or in the foreign one. In the thesis, the reader will find information about a draft of application for catching the exchange rates and also about its programming. There is also draft of database generated by framework Hibernate in the thesis. In the thesis is described my way of thinking during creating the PHP scripts.
Analysis of Czech Constroction Industry from 2004 to 2013 with Regard to Phases of Bussines Cycle
Černý, Martin ; Chmelová, Pavla (advisor) ; Sunega, Petr (referee)
Presented thesis brings forward a complex insight on Czech construction industry in years 2004-2013 with regard to the economic crisis in years 2009 - 2013. The theoretical part of the thesis present us with certain varieties of construction techniques, the importance of construction industry for Czech economy and selected parts of economic crisis theory. The introduction to the applicative part of the thesis is drawn as a contrast in various performance indicators in construction industry in between an era of Czech construction development (2004 - 2008) and an era of decline of construction industry (2009 - 2013). Author of the thesis, using the international comparative method, comes to the conclusion, that the Czech construction industry was affected by the economic crisis the most, among other factors also thanks to the public sector failure in times of crisis. The conclusive part of the thesis talks about the future of the sector, author predicts that thanks to the public investment and overall economic resurgence, future of the sector is quite bright but also points out that the long term deficiencies in public sector are still present.
Android application for playing of web radios
Janata, Petr ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Černý, Michael (referee)
The goal of this work is to gain tool, for playing internet radios on the Android platform. Firstly I made a research, where I was looking for current solutions. After that I analysed theirs lacks. After the analysis and consultation with PLAY.CZ a. s. company (which owns server play.cz) I designed new solution. The soliton is native application for the Android platform written in Java programing language. At practical part of this work I described the implementation of the application.
The impact of scrappage programme on national budget of Slovak Republic
Černý, Matej ; Komrska, Martin (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to show how the scrappage programme influenced national budget of Slovak Republic. This program was introduced in Slovak Republic in 2009 in order to stimulate automobile industry. This thesis analyses monthly data from 2003 to 2013 and explains how the sales of new passenger cars were influenced by specific factors. Exogenous variables used in the model are dummy variable "scrappage", lagged GDP per capita, interest rate, average price of the long-term best-selling car Škoda Fabia and the price of fuel. Selection of the variables is mainly based on studies by Carlson (1978), Litzman, Kouba, Dušková (2012), Nawi et al. (2013), Carlson, Umble (1980) a Lam, Tam (2002). The effect of introducing scrappage on sales of cars in particular months is estimated by the econometric model. Based on the model it is quantified how the scrappage programme influenced the national budget. Estimated results suggest that total impact of the scrappage programme was negative for the national budget.
Geomarketing methods
Voráč, Michal ; Chrobok, Viktor (advisor) ; Černý, Michal (referee)
Aim of this application-oriented master's thesis is to prove a benefits from using data analysis techniques connected with geodata processing to support business decisions. As a conclusion two solutions are given which are more attractive then starting situation. Since the first solution proposed is oriented on giving maximum success ratio while considering transactions, the second one is oriented on business value of each transaction. In this thesis R programming language is widely used together with ArcGIS Online in its final part.
