Computational analysis of the steel-composite carrier of the machining center TM 2000
Zbožínek, Martin ; Obdržálek, Vít (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The main objective of the work was to perform a computational analysis of the hybrid (steel-composite) carrier and compare the results with the original metal carrier. Static analysis, modal analysis and frequency response were solved. Computation was performed for three different relative positions of the carrier. Static stiffness, natural frequencies and dynamic compliance have been calculated. The results were verified by an experiment performed on a scaled-down model of the carrier. Modern software products, namely MSC Patran, MD Nastran, Matlab and ProENGINEER, were used for the calculation.

The Municipal Baths
Vrbka, Jan ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
Are municipal bath built next to Voronez Hotel able to compete with other such facilities? The key is to create a specific atmosphere. The bath steeps from the ground to offer views over city. Another part of the strategy is a presence of relative functions in the building – you can meet many activities, which you would not expect in public bath. But what is the most important: you can enjoy these activities in intimate environment or in the public space as well. For example: you can take a tea in a bar situated in the sixth floor with exclusive view over opposite hill or you can take different tea in a small informal teahouse hidden in the middle of the disposition. An all-embracing structure of differently juxtaposed reinforced concrete boxes creates a frame for this different human experience.
Strength design and deformation analysis of the truss construction.
Ryšánek, Michal ; Nedělka, Pavel (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on strength design and strain-stress analysis of truss construction. Simplified as a plain truss construction. One of the main goals of this thesis is calculate stresses for each member of the construction, depending on the load position. The cross section of beams were designed respecting safety conditions. The influence of the gravity field was not taken into account.
Design of the computational lifetime prediction methodology for the roll bearing
Vaculka, Miroslav ; Vlk, Miloš (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with a fatigue analysis of a roller bearing. The fatigue analysis consists of determining service-life of a roller bearing using a stress-strain analysis with finite element method and subsequent numeric calculation using software fe-safe with application of Brown-Miller multiaxial fatigue criterion. Service-life of a roller bearing is determined by number of cycles to failure in the form of pitting formation which is consequence of contact fatigue. According to calculations was found an inappropriateness of Brown-Miller criterion for high-cycle contact fatigue. Test of other available criteria was performed. Principal-Strain criterion provided the best match with ISO 281 standard.
Stress, deformation and safety analysis of the recumbent bicycle frontal composite axle
Ondrejka, Jan ; Majer, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with creation of computational model of AZUB recumbent tricycle composite axle for stress strain analysis. The thesis consists of four main parts. The first part contains introduction to the offer of full suspended tricycles from the most known manufacturers. Furthermore it contains introduction to composite materials that makes the main element of AZUB´´s suspension, and the description of the AZUB´´s front axle. In the second part there is detailed compilation of computational model for purpose of stress strain analysis of three load states. The effect of specific material and geometry parameters on axle behavior is discussed with the aim of choosing the most appropriate variant. Third part deals with the manufacturing of the front axle prototype and with tests leading to input data for numerical model and verification of computational model. Modifications and changes that lead to manufacturing of the second prototype are content of the last part. Based on this experience some recommendations for future development of the numerical axle model and the front axle suspension itself are formulated.
Timber structure of a view tower in southeast Moravia
Vrbka, Jan ; Straka, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
he master’s thesis consists of a case study of an observation tower design made of glue laminated timber and steel. There are two different tower shapes of anchored or free standing tower and these towers are compared. One of the design is chosen and elaborated into final detailing. A short review of main issues bound with the observation towers is given. The review deals mainly with loading (mainly priniples wind loads are analised) and evaluating of towers (ultimate limit states, service limit states and acceleration comfort). The height of final construction is up to 60m. The design is formed by a space lattice structure made of glue laminated timber and steel members of different class. The members are fastened mainly by means of dowel joints with slotted-in-plates . There is a light steel stairway inserted into the main structure.
Strength design of the truss construction
Rašovská, Hana ; Horníková, Jana (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with strength, stress and strain analysis of the plain truss construction. The aim of the thesis is calculation the size of forces for two storage of the system with resultant suggestion of the cross- section geometry. The different position of the load is also considered. Further the influence of gravitational field of the Earth is reviewed as well as displacements in characteristic places, in construction is defined.
Stress and strength analysis of the bike frame and compliance assessment at selected construction places.
Prášil, Jiří ; Horníková, Jana (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
Purpose of this work was the realization of stress and strenght analysis of the bike frame with the help of the basic elasticity approach. At first I had to transfer this task from three-dimensional to two-dimensional and also to simplify to fulfill the beam conditions. I also focused on static safety of the construction. This static safety was solved for two loading modes. First one was define as the load, which cyclist can induce, when he is going on the direct road. Second one was defined as the load, which he can induce, when he is going up to the hill. I used for these calculations mathematical software such as Mathcad 14 or Maple 12, but also modeling software especially Autocad for establishing correct dimensions. At the end I checked the stress and strain analysis obtained by the basic elasticity approach with the solution performed making use of the ANSYS software code.
Strain, stress and safety analysis of the car reinforcement frame
Dobeš, Martin ; Vosynek, Petr (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the strain, stress and reliability analysis of the safety frame of racing car. The safety frame is a part of passive safety, which it becomes active in a case of impact. The safety frame makes a reinforcement of the car body and provides its sufficient stiffness. The first part of the master thesis is focused on determination of stress and strain states during the static loading tests and their analysis. The loading conditions are prescribed by homologation regulations of Fédération Internationale de l´Automobile (FIA). The problem is solved, making use of computational modeling utilizing the Finite Element Method (FEM). The first part of thesis is used for the stiffness and safety analysis under the static loading test. The second part deals with the effect of loading velocity on the stress and strain states using the computational modeling and solver LS-DYNA.
