Validation of Utility Theory of a Consumer in Practice

This bachelor thesis is focused on validating of Utility Theory of a Consumer in practice. The aim of this work is to confirm or disprove the theory of decreasing marginal utility on the two test groups of respondents coresponding to a pre-prepared questionnaire. The work is divided into two main parts first is a theoretical and second is a practical. The theoretical part is devoted to the authors, who were stadied to the issue of consumer behavior from the past until present. These findings are used to develop questionnaires and subsequent elaboration of the practical part. In the practical part are analyzed using a graphical representation individual responses to the questionnaire from two interviewees groups. These data lead to the evaluation of whether the theory of diminishing marginal utility confirmed or not. Average utility are further processed in statistical calculations to compare whether the average utility in the two groups tested statistically significantly different or are the same average utility.
The Market Analysis of Cash Systems

This work is focused on market cash systems, the description and development of the cash systems. This work is processed on the basis of data from Wincor Nixdorf which is one of the leading companies producing POS solutions, banking solutions and many other facilities in the Czech Republic, but also in the world. The work is composed of two parts, where the first chapter is an introduction to the concept of trade, retail trade, information POS solutions and description of payment. There are also graphs showing the growth of POS solutions, ATMs and credit cards in Czech republic. In the analytical part is analysis of the volume of sales in segments on payment solutions, description, price and type of product, competitive information, and types of customers. There was also performed a survey focusing on the needs and preferences of customers in payment and the interview with the manager of the company Wincor Nixdor. The research question is what will be the potential future trend of POS solutions.
Oligopolistic Competition in Selected Market Segment

Telecom market in the current Czech Republic is one of the worlds decisive but also the most profitable sectors of globalized economies. The mobile communications market in the Czech Republic now hosts many operators, however its development determine only three network operators and one market regulator, the Czech Telecommunication Office. Major providers of mobile telephone services in the Czech Republic are TMobile, O2 and Vodafone (94% market share in the Czech Republic). Less important place in the market occupy virtual operators whose market power is relatively small and they are unable to be considerably ahead in terms of oligopolistic competition on the domestic market. Those matters correspond to the model of an oligopolistic market with dominant firm and competitive fringe. In the Czech Republic this competitive fringe consists of two powerful companies and a large group of virtual operators, who, however, make up only 6% of the market. Said (oligopolistic) structure of the mobile communications market in the Czech market thus appears to be stable over time; the position of dominant firm TMobile may possibly be replaced by O2 in the long term.
The Development of the Czech Mobile Phone Operators Market

Bachelor thesis deal with the beginning and development of the market of mobile operators after 1990. The main part of the Bachelor's thesis is comparison of the development of prices and the types of services offered by different operators with regard to the gradual filling of the market other new businesses in the branch. The second part presents to the appreciation of this mobile operator in terms of their dominance in the market with an intention to formulating objectively substantiated evidence, whether operators will not break the economic competition. In the accompanying charts and tables, work compares the prices of tariff in each of the time periods for the operators and provides their comparison between them.
The Importance and Impact of the Antimonopoly Office in the Czech Republic in Area of Procurements

This bachelor thesis deals with the importance and impact of the Antimonopoly Office in areas of the public procurement. The theoretical part firstly describes the activities of the Office for the Protection of Competition. History of the Office, its competence and structure is approached there. Furthermore, individual issues, which the Office for the Protection of Competition does, are mentioned. In the main part, there is a closer description of the Public procurement and its legal regulations. Moreover, a separate chapter is a division of the Public procurement, further explanation of the term the contracting authority, the principles which have to be abided for the award of the Public procurement and the types of tender procedure. The analytical part concentrates on the development of agenda of the Antimonopoly Office in areas of the public procurement in the years 2010 to 2014. Part of this chapter states specific cases of the misconduct investigated by the Antimonopoly Office.
The Importance and Impact of the Antimonopoly Office in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to describe the functions of the Office for the Protection of Competition and to verify its practical effectiveness on the basis of statistical data relating to the solves cases, mainly from 2009-2014. The theoretical part describes the history of the competition, defines the terms >>relevant market<< and >>competitor,<< briefly describes theoretically individual competition distortions, briefly describes the Office for the Protection of Competition and the legislation that applies to the issue. Specific illustrative cases of the activity of the office in the field of prohibited agreements, abuse of dominance and mergers of competition are gradually analyzed.
The Analysis of Economy of Ukraine in Comparison with the Czech Republic

The work is devoted to the analysis of the economies of the two states: the Ukraine and the Czech Republic. In both of the state are analyzed indicators of GDP, the trade policy inside the state and on the international market, unemployment, inflation, investment policy. The work also deals with the causes of the economic crisis and its negative impact on the economy and proposes principles and methods of mitigating or limits the negative effects of the crisis on the economic situation in Ukraine. The main goal of this work is to propose the possibility of the rise of the Ukrainian economy at the level of the economy of the countries of the European union. Listed variants are based on the methods used in the development of the economy of the Czech Republic and their exit from the crisis.
Analysis of the Slovak Economy in Comparison with the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of Slovak and Czech economics using captured data during a 23 years period from 1990 to 2013. The main aim of this thesis is to describe, evaluate and compare both economics in this time period. This work is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part, is introducing and explaining indicators used in the analysis, including GDP, inflation, unemployment and exchange rates. The second, practical part, is concentrating on the use of indicators mentioned in theoretical part using particular data. Individual indicators are displayed in graphs and are accompanied by explanatory comments. The practical part is divided into three periods for better transparency. The first period, from 1990 to 1992, is dedicated to Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, the second period covers years 1993 to 2000 and the last period covers 2001 to the last processed year 2013. In the conclusion is contained summary of the practical part and evaluation of economic efficiency development of both countries during monitored time period.
The Analysis of the Austrian Economy in Comparison with the Czech Republic

This thesis conducts a comprehensive analysis of the economy of Austria and the Czech Republic from 2009 to 2014. Attention is paid to key macroeconomic indicators, which are interpreted and compared with each other. The first part presents theoretically characterized macroeconomic indicators that will be compared and interpreted in the thesis. The second analytical part focuses on the current state of the economies of both countries. It focuses on the comparison of GDP, public debt, unemployment, inflation and foreign trade of the Czech Republic and Austria.
The Impact of the Intervention of the Czech National Bank on the Consumers in the Czech Republic

This study concentrates on the situation of the Czech economy before and after the CNB intervention. The theoretical section covers economic terms that were and still are connected to today's currency market intervention. Those terms include different kinds of currency exchange and its establishment. Next is a money system connected with a buying power, as well as history and current situation of the Euro and the Czech crown, and the significance of gold. Further on, the banking system is analyzed, pointing out the specifics of the CNB and the role of commercial banks. The terms deflation and inflation are explained, with examples of countries where they are happening, and the role of international business, mainly import and export. In the analytical part, the impact on the Czech citizens is researched through a survey. 271 respondents, including students, employees, and business people, answered how the devaluation of the Czech crown impacted the citizens, how they felt about being informed about the situation through media, and if they understood what CNB did. The survey also asked if the opinions of respondents have changed after 2 years. At the end is an interview with a former member of the bank's board who made decisions about the interventions, reflecting her view of the Czech economy and Euro currency.
