The use of Steam Turbines

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of steam turbines as a part of the power station. The theoretical part focuses on the history, basic informations about steam turbines, as well as facts of the operation and allocation of steam turbines by various criteria. The theoretical part also includes description of the most common construction design. In the practical part is described the concrete power station and is made basic calculation of heat balance.

Rankin cycle for waste heat recovery of internal combustion engines

This bachelor thesis deals with Rankine cycle as a method of waste heat recovery for internal combustion engine. Firstly, internal combustion engine and some technologies on waste heat recovery are described simply. Secondly, Rankine cycle and its utilization in automobiles are overviewed. At the end, there are summarized results from simulations and experiments regarding the issue. It was stated in a conclusion that in case of waste heat recovery in automobile, Rankine cycle is a promising technology but it is not ready for wide application yet.
Steam turbine repair

The content of this bachelor thesis is revision of steam turbine at its user as well as suggestion for its overhaul. It is condensing turbine with two regulated and one unregulated off takes. At the beginning of the thesis there is description of the turbine, its technical specification and operational data. Next is the revisional report with suggestions for overhaul or replacement of damaged parts of the turbine. In conclution of this thesis is evualation of the turbines condition and recommendation for the repair procedure of this steam turbine.
Steam Turbine for the Waste to Energy

The master thesis deals with the design of a condensing steam turbine for a waste incineration plant with regulated take for a heat exchanger, which has a heat output of 15 MWt and a temperature gradient of 60/90 °C. In the thesis, a thermal scheme was first designed, which was based on the required design parameters. The maximum mass flow of steam into the turbine is 38 t/h. The pressure and temperature of the admission steam is 37 bar and 440 °C. The degassing temperature is 105 °C and the cooling water temperature at the condenser inlet is 20 °C. The following is the design and thermodynamic calculation of the turbine flow channels. The first stage of the turbine is designed as a regulatory with equal pressure blades. The rest part of the turbine is designed with overpressure blades and is divided into 6 cones, in which there are a total of 27 stages. The strength inspection of the designed blade profiles was performed. A compensating piston and a gland system were designed. Finally, bearings for the rotor were designed and then the operating diagram of the turbine was constructed. The work is supplemented by a structural drawing of the longitudinal section of the turbine.
Reversing turbocharger

This diploma thesis is dedicated to a design of a reversing turbo-compressor. The thesis is divided into several parts. The introductory part includes the relevant theory and categorization of turbomachines. The second part describes the storage system the machine is designed for. A separate chapter is devoted to other examples of possible use of this machine. The next chapter provides a detail description of modes and individual parts of the machine. The most comprehensive chapter is then devoted to the design of the compressor, turbine calculation and design of integrated gearbox. The thesis also includes an annex, which contains the technical documentation.
Retrofit HP Section Steam Turbine 300MW

The aim of this master‘s thesis is retrofit of a 300 MW tandem compound steam turbinetype K300 - 170 with three casings and reheat of steam. In the first part a heat balance of the cycle is calculated for given nominal parameters. Further the thesis is focused only on the high pressure section of the turbine, for which the flow section is designed based on thermodynamic calculations and appropriate blade profiles are selected. Then the stress control of the blading is done. The thesis is concluded with estimation of power loss due to shaft seals and real power output of the turbine is calculated. This thesis also includes a drawing of axial section of the high pressure section of the turbine.
Project construction management technology unit

The target of this master thesis is specify the requirements, which come up while summing the investment aim of a new 40MW energetic unit, and show the overall project management. Thesis is divided into two parts. First part deals with project management from the investors point of view. There is also detailed concept study, technological description of piston co-generation units and combined cycle, concept design of calculated variations and their economical analysis. Second part is taken from the point of view of the main supplier. There is defined the range of operations, documents and official permissions needed for successful finish of the civil part of the energetic unit project.
Dedusting of cooling conveyor for agglomaration( Conveyor output 130t/h)

The main aim of this thesis is to propose a suitable dusting cooling conveyor technology for agglomeration South in Ostrava. The first part deals with the actual sinter production and its influence on air. It further describes the most commonly used separation device in agglomerations. In the second part of this thesis there is designed a scheme of piping line for suction air and there is also described the choice of abatement equipment and associated equipment. The work includes also drawing plans of the proposed solution.
Steam turbine

These topics are analyzed in more detail: design of thermal diagram, thermodynamic calculation and turbine design concepts. First two topics are solved in the calculation section of the thesis. In the construction part are processed a third topic.
