Broad-spectrum signal propagation through inhomogeneous medium
Měcháček, Radek ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
Work is focused on both theoretical knowledge of the electromagnetic field and the specific properties of metamaterials measured. First, be informed about the fundamentals of electromagnetic fields, the issue of periodic structures to the properties required metastructures. Further experimental work is designed to measure the properties of metamaterials. The measurements will be used as harmonic signals and broadband signals in the frequency range 100MHz to 10GHz. In the last part of the proposed work is carried out experimental work and are evaluated some characteristics of the antennas and measurement of the selected sample.
Axisymmetric antennas with metamaterials
Roman, Pavel ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
This project is focused on computer modeling of so-called meta-materials, and on the exploitation of metamaterials in the design of electrically small antennas. For modeling, COMSOL Multiphysics 3.3 was used. Simulations were focused on impedance matching of antennas. Antennas with metamaterials were compared with corresponding conventional antennas without metamaterial layers. The project does not investigate the creation of metamaterials; the project concentrates on their influence on crucial parameters of antennas. Next step this project is focused on optimalization this structure in program Matlab version R2009b. We used optimalization method PSO (swarms of particles) and results are comparing whit results calculating in COMSOL program.
Family house with travel agency
Fiala, Pavel ; Sedlák, Radek (referee) ; Benešová, Romana (advisor)
Theme of this bachelor work is family house with travel agency. House is designed from POROTHERM wall system, there are two floors above ground level. Main part, garage and office is shelted by roof racks. The property is slightly sloped to the south side. Construction corresponds to the valid ČSN regulations.
Non-destructive Detection Methods of Biological Activities Wood-destroying Insects
Kintr, Jindřich ; Král, Bohumil (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is to study a non destructive methods and methodologies of detection biological wood pests. Analyzed method of detection in this thesis is non destructive acoustic detection. For scanning the activity of wood pests a sensor with piezoelectric converter is used and for scanning the ambient sound a sensor with an electret microphone is used. The signals from these sensors are subtracted in a differential amplifier. In this thesis we can find a method determine the similarity of two signals and a laboratory measuring of detection of activity of a wood pests (Hylotrupes bajulus).
Numerical modeling of magnetic susceptibility influence to MR images
Julínek, Michal ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Bartušek, Karel (advisor)
The numeric simulation of magnetic field of selected samples is made and resuled is compared with MRI measurement.
Superconductivity in the fourth state of matter
Mádrová, Tereza ; Klíma, Miloš (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on description and research of electromagnetic waves in plasma state. Some simple cases of no-loss mode distribution of electromagnetic waves in plasma are known, for example around the coaxial cable. In other words, the properties of superconducting state in materials are shown. This view of plasma properties can significantly help to clarify observed phenomena in experimental plasma research or to outline new trends in plasma usage in this mode. The introduction and the theoretical parts describe the known theory related to the propagation of electromagnetic waves in a non-homogeneous or anisotropic environment, in the next parts of the thesis the mathematical model of the solved problem of wave propagation in plasma is mentioned and the design and realization of the experiment is followed. The model includes processing of Maxwell's reduced equations in Haeviside notation for the state of matter referred to as plasma, the design of a model for numerical modeling and analysis, and the design of a simple experiment to verify numerically analyzed results.
Noise spectroscopy used in biology
Žáčik, Michal ; Bartušek, Karel (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis contains glossary topic of spectroscopic measurement methods in broad bands of frequency. There is designed experimental measurement method for simple samples and biological samples measurements for noise spectroscopy in frequency range of 0,1 – 6 GHz, using broadband noise generator. There is realized the workplace and the measurement method is verified by measuring on selected samples. Measurements a displayed and analyzed.
Laboratory equipment for noise spectroscopy
Segiňák, Ján ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Szabó, Zoltán (advisor)
This thesis deals with a glossary topic in the field of noise spectroscopy and spectroscopic measurement techniques in a wide range of frequencies. There was designed measuring workplace for noise spectroscopy with a description its parts and experimental measurement method for measure samples in frequency range of 0.1 – 6 GHz by using broadband noise generator. Software support for automated measurement of samples was created in Agilent VEE. The last part of the work is devoted to measurement of samples and evaluating measurement results.
Low-level measurement of ELF magnetic fields
Cích, Augustín ; Hanzelka, Michael (referee) ; Fiala, Pavel (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with design of sensor network for synchronised low-level recording of changes in magnetic part of Earth's field in ELF band in multiple places. The goal is acquisition of changes due to solar storm activity, while taking into account, that in research of geomagnetic effects connected with solar events is spectrum of interest broader and reach up to VLF, where a solution is often made of combination of receivers in ELF and VLF, a decision was made, after consulting with thesis supervisor and researchers, that device will be designed for ELF, but can be easily modified, by changing preamplifier, for using in higher frequency bands, creating a solid founding for further measurements and research in this field.
Quarter-mode four-element antenna array
Janoušek, Jiří ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
Thesis deals with problematics of Compact Circularly Polarized Antenna Based on Quarter-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide Sub-Array and process. It also solves a complex structure of microstrip power distribution network. The goal was to create a~physical functioning model of this antenna and to measure its attributes in free space and also near the human body. Theoretical part of this work is taking on the calculation of parameters of the proposed antenna. Practical part is then solving modelation and simulations in program ANSYS HFSS. Physical model of the antenna was not created and some flaws were found in the presented model of the microstrip power distribution network. A possible solutions were proposed to eliminate these flaws.
