Conceptual design of upper reservoir of pump storage power plant
Kotaška, Stanislav ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
The main aim of the bachelor thesis is proposal of the upper water reservoir of the pump-storage plant which i located near the city Ústí nad Labem. The main purpose of this reservoir is the accumulation of energy produced and its redistribution over time. The reservoir is designed according to ČSN 752310 - Embankment dam. Bachelor thesis consists of text part, hydrotechnical calculations and drawings.
Hydraulic analysis in the surrounding of hydro power plant
Lorenc, Václav ; Roth, Tomáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with analysis of flow ratios at the hydraulic plant Klecany – Roztoky, located in the region of Střední Čechy at Vltava river (km 37,08). At this site 3D streaming of superficial water was simulated aiming to evaluate the influence of potencial construction of the new hydroelectric power plant Klecany II on existing Klecany I. Using all of the base documentation available, 3D models of current and planned conditions were created to serve as base for calculation in FLOW 3D. The first part of the thesis describes, how the planned construction of the new hydroelectric power plant Klecany II could influence the current fairway at the inlet 400 m3/s. The second part analyses shape of planned flow hydroelectric power plant Klecany II for flow Q90d, equal to 180 m3/s. All of the results are presented in intelligible charts and images.
Design of linear hydrotechnics structures using a digital terrain model
Libosvár, Marek ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis focuses on the possibility of using the program AutoCAD Civil 3D to create a digital terrain model of interest locations. Then subsequently the design of linear hydraulic structures which serve as flood protection, as well as anti-noise barriers, retaining walls or for example various modifications of water.
The use of HEC-RAS software for determination of channel capacity downstream of the dam
Pavlíček, Michal ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
The Bachelor’s Thesis is focused on a computation of water levels in the open channel reach which is situated beneath the Bawanur Dam. The thesis also includes computation of rating curves of bottom outlet, spillway with tainter gates and hydro-power plant of the dam. Solution was pursued by using one – dimensional model of nonuniform steady flow created in HEC – RAS software. The capacity of the channel reach and the capacity of the dam is a result of computation.
Reconstruction of dam Ivanské jezero
Svatoš, Petr ; Beran, Ivan (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
Water structure Ivanské jezero was built on the Javorník Creek back between 1905-1907. The main purpose of the dam was accumulation of high volumes of water and protection of the territory downstream. After the adjustment for higher flows on the river Kněžna in Rychnov nad Kněžnou, which was completed in 1937, the water structure lost the protective function. On the basis of an assessment made by Povodí Labe in 1993 - due to the low volume of the reservoir there is no flood wave transformation and already while flow rates greater than Q50 pass through dam, it results in overflowing the dam. To this date water structure Ivanské jezero is in very poor condition due to degradation of the binding material in the dam. The goal of the thesis is to propose a procedure for removal of the existing structure and the subsequent construction of the design and construction of a new – gravity, concrete dam. This work will contain technological removal process of current dam and possible usage options for the dam material. In the next step a new structure will be designed in the place of existing dam. After new design is completed there will be hydraulic assessment of the functional objects, hydrology and stability on the dam.
Hydraulic assesment of river and design of flood protection
Pikna, Martin ; Smelík, Lukáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the hydraulic analysis of the water flow of flood flow on the river Leskava from river station km 1,600 to river station 3,843 km. Hydraulic analysis was performed in the program HEC-RAS 5.0. using a combination of the flow of surfacewater in the 1D and 2D model. The calculation was carried out for the flow rates Q5, Q20, Q100. Bachelor thesis builds on the study to the General plan of the drainage of the city of Brno. In conclusion, on the basis of the resulting depths of the water and the size of the flood areas it was proposed to appropriate flood control measures in the form of idea flood protection.
Study of flood protection measures
Fiurášek, Marek ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the current and proposed state of flood protection on the left bank of the Moravia between the towns of Kroměříž and Hulín. Hydraulic calculations were performed using a 2D numerical model for peak flow Q100. The goal of the calculations was primarily the assessment of variant designs of inundation bridges, which form an essential part of the proposed anti-flood measures in the area of interest. The work also includes a comparison of different ways of entering the input parameters of the used 2D numerical models. The outputs are processed in the form of drawing documentation, map attachments and photo documentation.
Comparement of results from infiltration tests
Blahut, Dominik ; Mazáč, Petr (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to compare the results of water infiltration from field tests, from laboratories and from numerical modeling at two selected locations. The first objective is the search procedure and the description of both sites and its adjacent areas. Further work continues with infiltration field tests using ring infiltrometer, at first theoretically for each method, and then practically with own personal measurements in the field. Further from the collected soil samples the measurements are performed in the laboratory, first in the permeameter, and followed by the grain size distribution test, from which the hydraulic conductivity is derived by using empirical formulas. At last the numerical modeling is used and all the results are compared. In the final phase of thesis the recommendations are given for infiltration at various locations and comparsion of the infiltration methods.
Extreme hydrological events in the context of urban planning
Klimeš, Zdeněk ; Dráb, Aleš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The purpose of the bachelor thesis was to describe known extreme hydrological events and potential attitudes to minimalize their negative impacts. The thesis was written as literature recherche from different points of view, not only from a one-sided technical or ecological point. It proceeds systematically from describing the historical evolution of the subject matter through the presentation of global ecological problems, outlining the legislative background and the findings from specialised literature, to the examples of current trends. In view of the fact that the issue is so broad, the thesis treats only certain parts in detail. The subject of interest is the demonstration of separate measures against floods and droughts and the effects of their synergy concerning the minimalization of the repercussions of extreme hydrological events.
Design of flood protection on selected location of the river
Filípková, Monika ; Klepárníková, Radka (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the hydraulic analysis of the water flow capacity for the flood flow on the river Litava in the river kilometres 11,550 – 18,315 using the HEC-RAS 5.0.5 specifically 1D-2D numerical model. On the basic of flood areas, depths and speeds the results were evaluated and subsequently was created own proposal flood protection.
