Changes of ultrasonic wave velocity in the process of deformation
Kožušníková, Alena ; Konečný, Pavel ; Chmelová, J.
Ultrasonic wave velocity is physical parameter reflective character of discontinuities in material. Paper represents measurement of ultrasonic wave velocity changes in the process of deformation of rock specimens. There were various types of loading modes: uniaxial or triaxial state of stress, with constant or with the increasing confining pressure, with or without strength failure of specimen. The other physical parameters (permeability, strain) were measured except ultrasonic wave velocity. The results were compared from view of ability to reflect the changes in material in the process of deformation. The tested specimens were analysed by computer tomography to obtain the spatial localisation of discontinuities before and after the tests.
