Weather Forecast Mashup
Gajdušek, Radek ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
The goal of bachelor's thesis "Weather forecast - mashup" is the design and implementation of application, which gathers data from multiple sources in XML format using Silverlight technology. In addition to the description of the individual stages of application development the thesis also contains the clarifying of the term mashup, analyses Web 2.0 and defines the basic terms of weather forecast. Attention is paid to Silverlight and its comparison with the main competitor in the market. The thesis also includes the evaluation of the achieved results, together with thinking about the future possible application development.
Image Viewer for Windows Mobile
Miklósy, Jiří ; Kajan, Rudolf (referee) ; Svoboda, Pavel (advisor)
Over the past few years,  sales of pocket pc have increased dramatically due to the devices' popularity. As a result, these devices have replaced desktop computers in an increasingly wireless world. In this bachelor's thesis, I will describe different technologies that can be used with these computers. In the following chapters, I will try to explain programming in DirectX. The aim is for the reader to be familiarized with this framework, its usage, and problem-solving techniques. In the last chapter, I propose and implement image viewer, image upload, and tagging in 3D.
Braille Reader
Fabík, Jiří ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Maršík, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with image processing, specifically scanned Braille documents. It is about recognition of Braille cells, followed by transferring to plain text. Braille dots are recognized on the basis of bright and dark parts, which are created during scanning. After connection to the characters, they are converted to plain text by means of the character set. It also locates positions of possible errors to make it easier to correct the final text.
Comparison of Video Codecs
Urbánek, Pavel ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis is aimed at analysis of video codecs and their comparison. First part of this document provides reader with the basic information on encoding and decoding process including high level description of often used algorithms. It describes codecs and the process of standardization. Second part is focused on test specifications and codecs comparsion itself including conclusion. PSNR, SSim and BD-PSNR are key methods used for comparing codecs.
Geolocalisation on Windows Phone 7
Kluz, David ; Kajan, Rudolf (referee) ; Svoboda, Pavel (advisor)
This work deals with design and realization an application for devices running WP7, which allows the collection of information about the user's location and evaluate the most frequently visited places. These points can be stored in phone memory and then displayed on the interactive maps available in the application. The theoretical part deals with localization using GPS and GSM. Also describes a grouping methods and methods for determining the distance between two GPS points. The practical part deals with implementation and application functionality.
Face Detection in Video
Hypský, Roman ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes detection of faces in video. Methods for human skin detection are described, both using the parametric approach and using the Gaussian distribution. The following is an analysis of face detection methods using the invariant features and using the machine learning methods. A particular emphasis was placed on face detection using the Viola-Jones detector using AdaBoost algorithm. The thesis also describes a practical implementation of the face detector, which was implemented in C++ using OpenCV library. Finally, the described methods are evaluated and the future project development is analyzed.
Trip Planning - Mashup
Přichystal, Štěpán ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
The target of this thesis is creating an mashup aplication for planning trip, which combines dates from more sources. The thesis contains theoretic informations of problems concerned about the topic so it is focused on explication of notion Web 2.0, then it is focused on acquaint with mashup applications and their types and on desription of characterizations of RIA applications and their technologies. It is not omitted even an acquaint with implementing technology Silverlight, that is dedicated relatively a lot of place in this thesis. The other part of thesis contains single period of development of application. The chapters describes an analysis of entering, the proposal, a brief description of implementation and testing. The finish of the thesis is dedicated to estimation and thinking of pertinent enlargement of application in the future.
Simple Character Recognition
Hamrský, Jan ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work deals with the process of text location and recognition in an image document. It discusses the matter of feature extraction and its usage in machine learning. Portion of this work is devoted to design and implementation of application for simple character recognition of machine printed text.
Comic Strip Generator - Mashup
Krutiš, Tomáš ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis describes a creation of a web application, in which can user create and save comics. As a sources of images are used web services, which provide images via their API. This application is mashup. The work describes applied technologies, design of web application and shows the implementation of some parts of the application.
Dynamic Creation of Graphical User Interfaces for Rich Internet Applications
Navrátil, Ladislav ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px 'Times New Roman'} The main topic of this thesis are Rich Internet Applications (RIA), web applications simulating desktop programs. The thesis contains complex introduction into the field, its possibilities and division. General focus is set on tools and frameworks used to create RIA applications and on architecture of author's own RIA framework. Attributes analyzed in the thesis are applied in the concept and implementation of an application that offers dynamic creation of GUI.
