The Humanist Virtuoso : Beginnings, Idea and Illustration of Hume's experimental philosophical anthropology in Treatise of Human Nature

PhDr. Tomáš Kunca The Humanist Virtuoso: Beginnings, Idea and Illustration of Hume's experimental philosophical anthropology in Treatise of Human Nature UK FHS, Praha 2013 Thesis introduces a concept of "The Humanist Virtuoso" as distinctive feature reflecting Hume's effort to introduce an idea of experimental philosophical anthropology based on study of human nature and manifested in his A Treatise of Human Nature. Concept is justified by three steps, through analysis of the beginnings of Hume's philosophy, explication of his "science of man" idea in Treatise and illustration of this idea in action, as appears in analysis of passions (Book 2). The beginnings of Hume's way to experimental philosophical anthropology are explained thorough interpretation of historical facts connected with his early study at College of Edinburgh. First meetings with culture of science ( both British Christian tradition of experimental philosophy and Newtonian mathematical philosophy) are considered as particularly important. Detailed analysis of pre-Treatise letters (the Letter to Physician and to Michael Ramsey) is provided to make explicit the beginnings of his "science of man" idea, turn to study of human nature. The thesis deals with the philosophy of George Berkeley as the analysis of mistakes. It traces Berkeley's attempts to explain the deeper levels of mistakes, namely the level of abstract ideas, categorical mistakes and furthermore, the deepest and most fundamental level, the level of linguistic mistakes.
Ecology of Eurasian sparrowhawk in urban and rural areas

Urban environments provide suitable habitats for species that are ready to adapt to the specific conditions. One of such species is Eurasian sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) that has adapted to the Prague city environment. This dissertation explores and describes selected aspects of sparrowhawks ecology in urban and rural environment. It focuses on comparison of selected aspects of sparrowhawk ecology between urban and rural study areas.

This bachelor thesis aims to describe what is meant by term Intelligent Personal Assistant and what are the capabilities of this technology nowadays. The technology is being presented in the context of following topics: Internet and the Artificial Intelligence. These topics are commonly associated with few problems and risks. The problems connected with Internet and Artificial Intelligence might be inherited by the technology of Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPA) and because of other aspects of the technology, the risk of outcomes that may be potentialy harmful can be even higher with IPA than originaly. This thesis aims to define problems connected with privacy and addiction. It describes risks that arise from delegating mans work to a machine and potential danger of giving a machine personality traits. Eventually, the thesis suggests a possible solution.
