Experimental verification of flood kidney three bag functionality
Požárová, Miroslava ; Dráb, Aleš (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the system of large-volume flood bags Protex - K manufactured by the company KOEXPRO OSTRAVA, joint stock company. The bags consist of polyethylene fabric filled with cement and fly ash mixture. The system enables creation of many shape modifications. One of them is the so-called triplet formed from three hose bags with the nominal diameter of 300 mm. The goal of the work was to verify functionality of this bag in one of the hydraulic troughs in the Laboratory of Water Management Research of Department of Water Structures of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. To assess the functionality, the bag stability was tested with various water levels, and discharge coefficient and specific leakage per one standard meter of the bag was determined. The resulting discharge coefficient was compared with discharge coefficients of similarly shaped constructions. The work includes comparison of the flood bags with commonly used bags. Furthermore, the data obtained by measuring and processed in the tabular and graphical form are presented in the work.
Study of small hydropower station
Juroška, Miroslav ; Špano, Miroslav (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with a design of small hydropower station in river kilometre 8,540 of the Opava River. The purpose of the building is to generate electrical energy by using hydroenergetic potential. The preliminary design includes report, hydropower and hydrotechnical calculations, fotodocumentation and drawings.
Hydrodynamic model of the Odra river in the locality of Odry
Skokan, Jiří ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The Bachelor's thesis deals with creating 2D hydrodynamic water flow model of Odra river in the locality of Odry (km 85,779 - 93,645). Using a numerical model HEC-RAS 6.2, hydraulic calculations of the peak flows of Q5, Q20, Q100 and Q500 were performed. The outputs were processed in the form of flood hazard maps, threat maps, written profile and drawing documentation.
Study of extension of Bata canal waterway in Rohatec
Gulec, Jakub ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with navigating the last section of the Baťa canal in the section between the Rohatec weir and the Hodonín weir. The first part of the thesis describes the current state of the site of interest with its evaluation. The following sections describe the necessary building modifications. An integral parts of the thesis are drawings of the proposed solution of navigating this section of the waterway, hydrotechnical calculations and photo documentation from the site exploration.
Feasibility study of the pumped storage power station
Kratina, Jakub ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
Pumped storage power stations are an integral part of all power systems. At pre-sent, they represent perhaps the only option to accumulate more surplus electricity. It is also built as a proven regulatory element of the power system. The content of this bachelor thesis is a study of feasibility of the pumped storage power stationt (PVE Podlešín) in the Vaňov area. The introduction deals with the issue of pumped srorage power station. Then the design of a technical solution for the power plant construction follows. The main part of the study is the elaboration of drawing documentation and technical reports.
Feasibility study of the flood protection measures
Kacálek, Tomáš ; Štěpánek, Jiří (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with assessment of flood protection measures in Břeclav. Hydraulic calculations of proposal flood events were carried out using 2D numerical model of water flow. Several simulations took account of construction phases and different values of proposal discharge. The hydraulic calculations were computed for river Thaya including its relief branch. The results were processed in the form of inundation maps, depth maps and they were recorded in longitudinal profiles of rivers.
Study of the flood protection measures
Fiurášek, Marek ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment and evaluation of the current state of flood protection in the area of the Kotojedka watercourse in km 0,000 – 6,618 and Zacharka at km 0,000 – 3,779. For individual flood scenarios corresponding to culmination flows Q5 Q20 and Q100, hydraulic calculations were performed using a coupled 1D and 2D numerical model. The outputs were processed in the form of maps of depths, speed and spills. Based on outputs, a proposal for flood protection measures in critical areas was made.
Study of small hydropower station in the locality of Osík
Staněk, Aleš ; Golík,, Pavel (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a study of a small hydropower plant in Osík on the Desná river. Part of the work is the calculation of the produced energy and the estimation of the return on investment.
Visualisation of hydraulic structures
Urbanec, Luděk ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
The aim is to implement the process for creating realistic visuals (including animations) for a small hydroelectric power plant Litomerice. This thesis is the creation of spatial models based on existing drawings. Using these models will be developed with an emphasis on rendering realistic scenes created. An important part of the work output will also be focused primarily on the animation feature demonstrations of technological equipment, handling and maintenance work on the water. A key outcome will be the documentation process of spatial models, realistic rendering and animation.
Hydraulic assessment of a stream revitalization effect on a floodplain retention capacity
Berka, Ondřej ; Havlíček, Tomáš (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
Diploma thesis “Hydraulic Assessment of a Stream Revitalization Effect on a Floodplain Retention Capacity“ assess availability of revitalized stream and its floodplain to transform floods and compare determined values with transformed floods from model of technically modified stream, both by using coupling 1D/2D BASEMENT computational model. In the first part is overall introduction to research issue. In the second part the territory of interest is described and the hypothesis are set. In the third part are described input data, used tools, computational model, its making and computational versions. In the fourth part the hypothesis are evaluated. It was determined, that for in this thesis used terrain and hydrographs are floods smaller than Q20 transformed much more by revitalized stream and that technically modified stream can speed up the flood, floods Q50 and Q100 are more transformed by technically modified stream. For generalization of the results would be appropriate to make research on bigger ammount of case studies based on combination of 1D/2D and rainfall-runoff model.
