Video Player Based on FPGA

This thesis deals with possible and realized decompression and playing of video on platforms, using FPGA unit. For implementation of this player is used platform FITKit, which has integrated VGA connector and large enough RAM memory. It uses a hard drive as memory medium with FAT32 file system.

Bachelor's thesis deals with design and implementation of a forum suitable for FITkit project. The first part describes widely used types of online discussion and forum systems, examines the existing FITkit forum and proposes a solution that can be integrated into the infrastructure of the current Web pages. The system is implemented using  the following technologies: HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript.

Extension Module with IR Communication Interface

This work is concerned with design of wireless extending module for the FITkit platform. The module is based on infrared communication. In this work the module itself is created, the components for the FPGA circuit are done and the software for the MCU is implemented. Additionally it is made possible to transmit or recieve codes of remote controllers for consumer electronics in variants of the NEC format.

Hardware acceleration is often good tool to achieve significantly better performance of processing great ammount of data or of realization of parallel algoritms. Aim of this work is to demonstrate resoluts of using FPGA circuits for implementation exponentially complex algorithm. As example haschosen brute-force attack on WEP cryptographic algorithm with 40-bit long key. Goal of this work is to compare properties and performance of software and hardware implementation of choosen algorithm.
Utilization of Evolutionary Algorithms in Symbolic Regression Problem

Evolutionary algorithms are constantly developing and progressive part of informatics. These algorithms serve to solve many kinds of problems from optimal control to planning. This study discusses genetic and cartesian genetic programming, which belong among the most successful types of evolutionary algorithms. The goal of this work is to develop two aplications of genetic and cartesian genetic programming and evaluate efficiency of these two types of evolutionary algorithms in solving symbolic regression problems.
ANSI art

The present bachelor thesis deals with automatic generation of ASCII graphics. The thesis is divided in several parts. First part describes the basics of computer graphics, image processing and recognition. The next part is focused on a theory and history of two most famous art styles called ASCII art and ANSI art. The methods of char recognition and problems arising from their testing are described in software application design. The methods reducing colour space of analyzed area were designed for char foreground and background colouring. The semifinal part is focused on implementation of library generating ANSI and ASCII art image and software application enabling the setting of all necessary parameters. The testing on a series of images, evaluation of results reached during the development and suggestions of possible future extensions are described in last part of the thesis.
