Riverside house
Štrba, Šimon ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The task of the bachelor thesis was to design and urbanize the area around the Svitava river, in the wider center of Brno. Directly on the riverside is designed a row of residential buildings with promenade and cycling path. The concept of the apartment building is based directly on the location. The basic idea was to create illuminated apartments connected to both facades and illuminate the inside of the disposition using lightwells with green walls.

The group of the matter was decided by the shields of neighbouring objects, which clearly defined the orientation to the sides of the world. One of the conditions was to adjust the shape of the building to the nature of its subsequent shading of the surrounding buildings. Therefore, the building is based on the concept of subtlety, which does not disturb the comfort of neighbouring residents. At the same time, it communicates with the green courtyard through a half-terrace above part of the car park. The ground floor opens into the courtyard twice. One time the passage for cars and the second time, more dominant, it reveals construction stairs and balconies thanks to the wall made of expanded metal, which is greened by the filter of the year thanks to the vertical gardens. The façade creates a ripple effect, from the ground floor upwards the raster relaxes and unfolds, creating a view of the surroundings for the residents.

The urban design creates a pleasant part of the city near the river, offers various functions and connects today´s isolated river with the city life. The basic concept of an apartment house in a row house is to create a house with two facades that do not miss the advantages of a home oriented to all the world's faces. I create maisonettes oriented on both facades. I make common spaces which is brightenned by a large skylight that is going through the whole height of the building.
The GAP in Brno
Choutka, Jiří ; Selnarová, Elisabeth (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
In my work I deal with the design of an apartment building in a gap in the center of Brno at Kopečná and Husova streets. The gap is located on a relatively deep place, which is bounded on the northeast, from Husova Street, by a steep and high slope (the body of the road between the Main Railway Station and Šilingr Square). The gap is located in a busy place and is exposed to noise from Husova Street. There are important historical and architecturally valuable buildings in the area. The functional content of the building is housing. In the design, I try to respond appropriately to the surrounding situation and adapt the building functionally and operationally. The effort was to meet all the requirements of the housing operation and insert new value into the existing city structure.
City within City
Lamačková, Zuzana ; Poláš, Michal (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis was to propose a solution of microurbanism in the urban part of Brno-north, which is situated close to the center of Brno. The solved area is defined by the streets Milady Horákové, Francouzská and Černopolní and it is an undefined urban block with prevailing function of housing and other functional areas, for which the development of this otherwise attractive territory is considerably limited. The aim of the thesis is to suggest improvement of land use, which is currently defined as urban greenery, but maintenance is not carried out on it and its character evokes negative emotions of passers-by and inhabitants. This site has the potential to use for housing in terms of urban structure and could benefit from close proximity to the center, good pedestrian access from Moravian Square, and amenities nearby. The function of commercial premises and housing units would be to bring the site to life.

The concept is therefore focused on the democratic possibility of choosing one's own flats, which would meet the specific needs of their inhabitants and at the same time represent an ideal balance between minimalist and comfortable living.
Riverside house

In the age of dynamic development of the city Brno into european metropolis, it is important to focus on the new possibilities of idle territories in relative proximity to the city centre. Projects focuses on urbanistic solution of the city block located in Brno - Trnitá district, which takes place on the historically significant postindustrial area. Further on, the project involves detailed design of a row house together with newly established riverside. Object is aimed on the living of students and young proffesionals, who are coming to Brno increasingly in larger quantities. This is a solution to the current question of the future of living in Brno. The project also includes an urban-landscaping solution to the newly built waterfront.
Democratic Architecture – Ostrava
Bitarová, Ivana ; Butková, Miriama (referee) ; Palaščak, Michal (advisor)
The subject of my bachelor thesis is the design of a residential house in Ostrava on Masná street. My design is one of four newly proposed objects within the studio, which complement the structure of the of the block development. The function of the building is housing responding responding to current market requirements. In my design I try to to find a new minimalist concept of housing, laid on the edge between price and living space. I work with the idea in which the most important room of the house is the garden, but if everyone builds a house in the countryside, no nature will be left. That's why I decided to use the concept of of a vertical village.
