Machová, Pavlína ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Postural stability assesment of female physiotherapists Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the level of dynamic postural stability of female physiotherapists with former or current sports (racing) careers versus physiotherapists without sports careers. Another aim is to compare how the level of postural stability of physiotherapists differs from the general population. Methods: This study is among quantitative experimental studies. The research was done from August 2020 to February 2021. The research involved 20 probands - women. Participants were divided into two groups by ten based on a former or current sports career or without a sports career. The control group was provided with normative data from the instrument manufacturer. The analysis and information on sports activities were collected using a questionnaire. Postural stability was measured with The Neurocom's The EquiTest Smart. The following tests were used: The Sensory Organization Test, The Motor Control Test, The Adaption Test, and The Limits of Stability Test. The results were processed with tables in Microsoft Excel. In Microsoft Excel, data were evaluated statistically and compared with each other. The mean, standard deviation, median and interquartile range were calculated. The following...
Evaluation of the dynamic postural stability of rugby players
Strakoš, Filip ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Autor: Filip Strakoš Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of rugby players Objective: The aim of this work is to find out how is the dynamic postural stability of rugby players different from the dynamic postural stability of healthy population with regular physical activity that does not perform rugby. Methods: In my diploma thesis I use the computer posturograph NeuroCom Smart EquiTest to record and measure dynamic postural stability. This device mainly focuses on examinations with the possibility of subsequent therapy of mainly functional disorders in the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, sensory and vestibular apparatus. Seven rugby players from the Prague club RC Praga were selected for the research. The players were 18-34 years old. The original number of probands was 20, but due to the pandemic situation, less players were involved in the research overall. The measurement took place in October 2020 in the laboratory of the Department of Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University. SMART EquiTest includes the following standardized evaluation protocols Sensory Organization Test (SOT), Motor Control Test (MCT), Adaptation Test (ADT), Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhythmic Weight Shift (RWS), Weight Bearing Squat (WBS), Unilateral Stance (US). The...

Hájek, Šimon ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Evaluation of postural stability of sprint kayak athletes. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare the level of thy dynamic postural stability of sprint kayakers with healthy population, which don't do any sport regularly with computerized posturography on the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest device. Methods: It is quantitative cross-sectional study. 24 sprint kayakers (experimental group) participated in this study and 40 individuals (control group), which don't do any sport on competitive level. The dynamic postural stability was evaluated with computerized posturography on the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest device in the Laboratory of Applied Kinesiology at the Department of Physiotherapy in Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Every participant was tested once in all seven tests - - Sensory Organization Test, Motor Control Test, Adaptation Test, Limits of Stability, Rythmic Weight Shift, Weight Bearing Squat, Unilateral Stance. Data was recorded and processed by the NeuroCom Balance Manager Software and then converted into Microsoft Excel 365 programe. Data was statistically analysed by Shapiro - Wilk test, Mann - Whitney test, Pair t - test and Cohen's d. Results: Due to low number of statistically significant differences, we couldn't say that sprint kayakers have better...
Menstrual Disorders in Ballet Dancers and Orienteering Runners
Motlová, Alžběta ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Menstrual Disorders in Ballet Dancers and Orienteering Runners Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine prevalence of selected menstrual disorders in ballet dancers and orienteering runners. The data were analyzed and compared to available literature. Methods: The theoretical part of this thesis is a summary of available literature. The data for the research were collected by anonymous non-standardized questionnaire and processed by descriptive analysis, which was proceeded in Microsoft Excel 2010, Statistika and NCSS free version. Qualitative data were evaluated by qualitative analysis. Results: A total of 103 women participated in the research, 57 women from general population (control group), 24 ballet dancers and 22 orienteering runners. The significant higher age at menarché was found in ballet dancers group (Chi square, p = 0,038; p < 0,05) as well in group of orienteering runners (Chi square, p = 0,032; p < 0,05) compared to cotrol group. There was proved a significant deviation of prevalence of secondary amenorrhea in ballet dancers group compared to orienteering runners (Chi square, p = 0,024; p < 0,05). There was no significant difference in prevalence of dysmenorrhea among groups. We found a mild positive correlation between hours of training per week and intensity of...

Durych, Martin ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the dynamic postural stability of competitive epee fencers. Objectives: The aim of this work is to objectively evaluate and compare postural stability of fencers by Neurocom EquiTest computerized dynamic posturography. Methods: The work has the character of a quantitative observational study, the aim of which was to assess and compare postural stability in sport fencers. A total of 63 probands took part in the research. The experimental group consisted of 9 fencers and 7 fencers in the age range of 20-29 years (average age = 24.19, SD = 2.70). The remaining 47 individuals formed a control group (23 men, 24 women, mean age = 25.22, SD = 2.20). Postural stability was assessed using a Neurocom SMART EquiTest. A complete range of 7 tests was used - Sensory organization test (SOT), Adaptation test (ADT), Motor control test (MCT), Unilateral stance (US), Limits of stability (LOS), Rythmic weight shift (RWS) and Weight bearing squat (WBS). In the experimental group, then additional balance tests - Single leg standing test and Stork test. The measured data were statistically processed and compared in the program R. Descriptive elements were determined for the data used for this work - mean, median, standard deviation. Data normality was assessed by the Shapiro-Wilk test. The...

The data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel and mathematical software R. Results: In the examined number of physiotherapists in the Czech Republic (n = 171) it was found that over 85 % (n = 146; 85,4 %) of participating physiotherapists rand the evaluation of informatik during undergraduate study and the posibility of working with pregnant woman as insufficient. There were no statistically signifiant differences between the evaluations of respondents from different schools or between the time from graduation. More than 81 % of respondents (n = 139) were interested in pregnancy education. Interest of women dominated over interest of men. Over 71 % of respondents (n = 119) work regurarly with pregnant women and more than 73 % of respondents (n = 126)...

The special part deals with a case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient after wrist arthroplasty, which consists of an initial and final kinesiological examination, description of individual therapies and assessment of the outcome of therapy. Results: We succeeded in the relaxation of antalgic shoulder position, increasing of range of motion and muscle strenght, stretching of shortened muscles, improving of fine motor skills and partially in correcting the movement stereotype of right arm abduction. We did not succeed in decreasing pins and needles sensation in the second and third finger. Conclusion: The present study accomplished all its...
