Analysis of local defects of high-pressure pipelines
Micka, Michal ; Jíra, Josef
In their surroundings the local defects of pipelines influence stress and strain state in the pipe wall. They are significant concentrators of the stress and they have fundamental effect on load-carrying capacity and service life of the pipe. The field of the stress and strain in the surroundings of defects may be detected experimentally or it may be used numerical modelling by FEM. In this paper are presented results of the numerical modelling of the stress state in the pipe wall due to ovality of the pipe also in the surroundings of corrosion pits and further at the place of local inward denting (buckling) of the pipe wall.

Modelling of behaviour of spiral weld of high-pressure gas pipelines
Jíra, J. ; Jírová, Jitka ; Micka, Michal
The local effect of notches in the form of long cuttingson the development of deformations in the wall of a spiralwelded pipeline were modelled in the course of the hydraulicstrength test of hp gas pipelines. The influence of notchesand the spiral weld on the pipe state of stress wereinvestigated experimentally together with the numericalsimulation of the behaviour of pipes with defects bymeans of the application of the ANSYS programme.

Modelling of Local Bulging of a Pipe
Micka, Michal ; Jíra, J.
Local defects affect the stress state in the pipe wall. The stress and strain state in the neighbourhood of the local bulging of the pipe wall can be modelled numerically using the FEM. The model is made from the segment cut-out from the pipe wall with a definite defect in the form of the bulge (owing to the symmetry a quarter of the defect with his neighbourhood can be considered).
