THE ACTOR-DIRECTOR COOPERATION ON CREATION OF DRAMATIC CHARACTER
Šanda, Václav ; TÖPFER, Tomáš (advisor) ; KORČÁK, Jakub (referee)
In my thesis I would like to describe the relationship between the two of the most cardinal professions that take part on the creation of a theatre production. A director is the person who creates and influences the most the idea, thoughts and genre of the production; and an actor is the one who embodies all of this on stage. I want to try to clearly demonstrate difficulties or, in the other hand, inspirational sources, which the actor is dealing with during creation of a role, depending and changing in relation with the director. As a basis of this work I chose my personal experience with two directors, whose stance during the work and relation to the actor is strongly different. First of them is Ladislav Smoček, director and playwright of Cinoherni klub. Then I would like to mention principles of cooperation with director Pavel Khek. In the first part of my thesis I want to make brief insight into history of direction and try to describe basic evolution of actor-director relationship. My goal is not to present comprehensive survey of direction history. My goal is to refer to different approaches and changes in actor-director cooperation.

This project has been an important step inmy development as an artist and designer and I feel it has strengthened thebond between my conscious and subconscious mind, giving me theconfidence to trust my feelings and harness them to come up with innovativeinterpretations translated into inventive designs

Theatre and fachidiotism
Rut, Adam ; KORČÁK, Jakub (advisor) ; ŠIKTANCOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
The thesis Theatre and Fachidiotism deals with the issue of profession blindness in the
context of theatre. It follows the topic of taste, emotion and craft. It also contains the
reflection of rehearsing several stage plays and one residency. The thesis as well follows the
question in what circumstances makes sense to do theatre. The author works on the
assumption that searching for the sense is the best defence against the blindness from
discourse in your profession. He is trying to critically examine his previous directorial
activities as well as the conditions and surroundings, in which he worked. He is aware of the
fact that on one hand we are threatened by stagnation in purely workmanlike and long ago
dehumanised attitude to theatre, chaos and effort to define ourselves regardless of the cost on
the other hand.

Michael Chekhov's Actor's Technique
Vavroch, Jaromír ; VINAŘ, Josef (advisor) ; KORČÁK, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with Michael Chekhov's actor's technique. It stresses out free creation of artist based on developing of imagination, feeling of atmosphere and work with personal unconscioussness. The creation stands against analysis and reason. Inspired by Jung and Nietzsche I come to conclusion the creation's territory is the area of mythology.
