Design of high-specific speed hydraulic turbine with contoured shape of the runner blade
Fojtíková, Marcela ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis is devoded to examination of influence of bumped leading edge of hydraulic turbines ruber blade to characteristics of blade cascade. Thesis is based on hydraulic turbine which countoured/bumped leading edge of blade was created using previous studies on NACA profiles. The main goal of this thesis is to Compare shaped leading edge with flat leading edge using CFD calculations. Programms like SolidWorks and Gambit were used to calculate geometrics and meshes.
Small Hydro Power Plant of The Fountain Type
Vintr, Martin ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main target of this bachelor´s work is dealing with small hydro power plant, especially these plants of the fountain type. The first chapter deals with description, the main division of hydro power plant and their building construction. There is hydro engine and their individual parts in the second chapter. These engines are then given in context with using of hydro energy and their using in hydro power plant of the fountain type. There is also design concept of stock inlet into turbine. Not just theory but also practical construction are showed here to be compact for better understanding of these power plants in the third chapter.
Stability of centrifugal pump characteristic curve
Chmatil, Ľuboš ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This thesis includes the theoretical part explaining problematic of centrifugal pumps, Y(Q) characteristics of these centrifugal pumps and stability of these characteristics, ways and conditions for stabilisation and adaptations heading to stabilisation.
Influence of plan radius on discharging capacity of weir
Lukášek, Petr ; Haluza,, Miloslav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on plan radius weirs. The part of this work is also summary of the information about weirs, principally about plan radius weirs. Executed model research, dealing with determination of influence of plan radius on discharging capacity of these weirs in comparison to straight weir, is evaluated in another part of this work. The research is also dealing with the effect of design of a spillway channel on capacity of the weir. This work compares the results of executed research with results of other authors, who are dealing with plan radius morning glory spillway.
The design of axial pump for given parameters
Stareček, Jakub ; Dobšáková, Lenka (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This master's thesis contains basic hydraulic calculations, design and optimalization of both the rotor and stator part of the axial pump. There is also included an analysis of the principle and function of hydrodynamic axial pumps. The last part of this work is focusing on the strength calculations and flow simulations using CFD.
The design of Pelton turbine for given parameters
Pavlíček, Tomáš ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create a project of a small Pelton’s turbine for laboratory use, focusing on the design of nozzle and blade. Designing these two parts included beam measuring, calculating the losses in the piping and finding the working point of the pump. In its first part this thesis reviews the history, the operating principle and the main parts of the Pelton’s turbine. The next part includes finding the appropriate shape of nozzle and measuring the beam, followed by the calculation of lossy coefficient and efficiency of the nozzle from the measured values. The third part is dedicated to calculation of losses in the piping and finding the working point of the pump. In the last part, blade is designed.
History of the use of water power in Lobodice by Kojetín
Koutný, Vojtěch ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
Energy is the driving force of the economies of countries around the world, without its use it would not be possible to achieve such great progress in science and living standards. However, in order for energy to be used, it must be created. This bachelor thesis will focus on the production of energy from a renewable source, which is a river. Specifically, the function and use of artificial water flow Bolelouc and MVE Lobodice.
Wide range Francis turbine
Pavlík, Jan ; Žák, Radim (referee) ; Žák, Radim (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
his diploma thesis deals with hydraulic design of vane wheel impeller of wide range Francis turbine; in addition to hydraulic calculation it consists overview of used theory, modelling in SolidWorks and computing in Fluent.
FLow in cracs
Ocásek, Adam ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This Master’s thesis investigates the flow in sealing gaps of impeller within pumps and turbines. Sealing gaps are installed to improve the volumetric efficiency in this type of fluid machinery. Despite present extensive research this subject has not been entirely documented and the thesis’ aim is to improve our knowledge in this matter. At the beginning, the practical experiment is used in order to establish appropriate numerical description of flow in seals and to calibrate software FLUENT. In chapter five, the thesis analyses the influence of seal design on volumetric efficiency of pumps and turbines and defines its optimal construction to improve the efficiency. The thesis then examines the effect of rotor eccentricity on flow properties, flow rate and pressure distribution within the sealing gap. In the last section, through chapters six to eight, the flow results provided by numerical solution in FLUENT and selected analytical equations, or their modified forms, are being discussed. The degree of correspondence between the results is also studied.
High-specific speed hydraulic turbine
Holub, Jiří ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design a geometry of runner of high specific speed turbine which is supposed to provide the maximum flow rate of the turbine while achieving a relatively high hydraulic efficiency. New design is based on the analysis of the hydraulic characteristics of three previous design sof very hiát specific speed turbines. The actual hydraulic pdesign of the turbine runner is based on CFD computations. Special software tools like BladeGen and TurboGrid were used for petting up the geometry and mesh for the very first time at Kaplan Department of Fluid Engineering.
