Functional data analysis and modeling age-specific mortality and age-specific fertility
Bezchlebová, Daniela ; Bašta, Milan (advisor) ; Dotlačilová, Petra (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze two major indicators representing the processes of natural changes in population, which are not influenced by age structure -- age specific fertility rate and age specific mortality rate and to introduce functional data analysis, which has recently become increasingly applied in many scientific fields. The functional data analysis is introduced on the Czech demographic data set for more than last sixty years. The thesis briefly describes historical development of mortality and fertility and also describes selected methods of functional data analysis by using statistical program R. Functional data analysis provides a wide variety of graphics tools to explore the data which we called functional and help us to explore all typical and atypical features, identify outliers etc.
The Evolution of the Concept of Ballet-Pantomime in the Age of the Enlightenment Europe
Dotlačilová, Petra ; KAZÁROVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; BRODSKÁ, Božena (referee)
The subject of my master´s thesis is focused on the evolution of the concept of ballet-pantomime in the Europe of the Enlightenment, that is in the second half of the 18th century. Ballet-pantomime was a new genre in the art of ballet, which was treated in theory and afterwards brought into practice in this historical epoque. After the outline of political and cultural context of the Enlightenment period, analysis of the most important theoretical texts and reflexions compiled by important cultural personalities follows. The next part of the thesis treats different dance styles and the state of ballet in the most important European cities where the genre of ballet-pantomime was introduces into practice.
The murders in the Czech Republic in 2000–2011
Vodičková, Lenka ; Šimpach, Ondřej (advisor) ; Dotlačilová, Petra (referee)
This thesis deals with the murders in Czech Republic in 2000 - 2011. Its aim is to inform the reader about the development of number of murders and their classification according to different criteria, which are not normally available to the public. The work will capture an overall trend in the development of number of murders in selected years. The murders will be divided according to their termination, which is meant, if the case was closed, forwarded to another department of the Police of the Czech Republic, if the case was suspended in accordance pursuant to § 159a/4 or if the case was postponed for another reason. Murders will be also divided according to stage at the time of the apprehension of the offender (completed act, attempt or preparation), typology (dial M for murder, infanticide, murder motivated by personal relationships, etc.) a crime scene by region. In this work will be also captured the characteristics of the offender, according to sex, age and nationality. On the acquired data there will be further examined the dependence of the number of murders on unemployment rate in the regions and the dependence of numbers of offenders on numbers of foreigners by citizenship.
The demographic development of the European Union
Dotlačilová, Petra ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
The aim of this Master's thesis is to describe the past and future demographic development of selected EU countries. The second aim is to utilize methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives in the demography. The last aim is to describe methods used to extrapolate mortality curves. The theoretical part describes demographic indicators, methods used to extrapolate mortality curves and computational processes for methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives. The practical part includes the computation of demographic indicators and describes the progress of the indicators in the future. The methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives are used for ranking selected EU countries according to the demographic indicators. The last part of the thesis includes the application of methods used for extrapolating mortality curves and compares the achieved results with the actual progress.
LETTERE CONTRA LETTRES
Dotlačilová, Petra ; Kazárová, Helena (advisor) ; Brodská, Božena (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I focus on two famous choreographers of the 18th century, Gasparo Angiolini and Jean-Georges Noverre, and their dispute about the nature of the then emerging genre of ballet pantomime. After the introduction of both authors and a short outline of the period situation, more detailed description of reasons and consequences of their polemics follows. The main part of my work is the analysis of their printed texts and the opinions expressed within, especially Angiolini´s paper Lettere di Gasparo Angiolini a Monsieur Noverre from 1773 and following reactions to this particular work.
Using linear programming to solve Markov decision processes
Dotlačilová, Petra ; Kořenář, Václav (advisor) ; Fábry, Jan (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to develop and describe how to solve Markov decision processes with alternatives by using the methods of linear programming. The theoretical part describes Markov decision processes. The practical part builds and describes the mathematical model of linear programming processes for Markov decision processes with alternatives. The method used for the calculation of the processes is described with the help of a simplex method. The last section of the practical part studies how the optimal solution of the linear programming is influenced by the postoptimalization changes which modify the probability and revenue properties of the processes.
