Bhagavad Gita and the Gospel of Judas

Thesis "Bhagavad Gita and the Gospel of Judas" compares the recently translated and released text of the Gnostic Gospel of Judas with the top of the Indian spiritual literature Bhagavadgita. Occasionally is worked by the text of the New Testament. After a summary of information about Judas in the New Testament and briefly outline the culture and religion from which each of the texts comes, the whole text of the Gospel of Judas gradually compared with the corresponding parts of Bhagavad Gita. The aim is to obtain an overview of the agreeing parts of the both very different texts. Identical parts should be used for recovery of the Gospel of Judas as a valuable text for spiritual site. At the same time the thesis is observing the relationship of the majoritarian American Christian churches with the Latter Day Saints church and is also seeking to find influences, eventually conflict. Result of the work doesn't tell if God is dead or not, just gives brief description of this phenomenon in the history and context. The work aims to provide entrance to the problematic, to give inputs to think and let the reader to feel the problem, which is current just for the period of postCmodernism. The thesis dicusses different responses to the challenge of religious pluralism in Christianity. It focuses on the question of how the present-day Christians respond to this challenge, how they relate to the traditional claim of the unique truth of Divine revelation in Christian teaching, and how they understand the concept of truth itself in this context. The text thus maps different trends and movements in current Christianity and introduces problems concerning the definition of the concept of religious pluralism in religious studies and the issues of the current philosophical discussion on the nature of truth - both in general and in religious discourse in particular. Feminist Interpretation of the Qur'an

The aim of this paper is to introduce the feminist interpretation of the Qur'ān in its main features and to try to define its key hermeneutical principles. First, the historical formation and development of Qur'ānic exegesis (tafsīr) is outlined with special attention to particular exegetical trends of the twentieth century. Second, the reader is introduced with the historical context of the origin of feminist movement in Muslim society and its basic characteristics and categorization (two types of feminism constituted in the course of time - secular and Islamic). The main chapter examines feminist interpretation of the Qur'ān based on the work of four leading feminist authors (Riffat Hassan, Azizah al- Hibri, Amina Wadud a Asma Barlas) and presents its central themes and methodology. The bachelor thesis focuses on a survey of concepts of human nature at the end of 20th century, specifically in the works of Francis Fukuyama. The introductory part descibes general contemporary situation and background. The main part deals with the formation of different natural aspects of human behavior from the perspective of sociobiology such as cooperation, intelligernce, language and morality the way F. Fukuyama interpretes them. It tries to expound how these aspects were formed during the long evolutionary development. Understanding these mechanisms should help us comprehend why there are natural tendencies to bahave the way we do. It also searches boundaries between human nature and cultural environment. Jesus in Islamic Christian Dialogue

The thesis follows the dialogue between Christianity and Islamism related to the most important Christian figure - to Jesus Christ. It attempts to introduce Jesus in his Islamic conception appearing in Koran and in the Islamic tradition and mysticism. The Islamic doctrine of Jesus is compared with the Christian doctrine; Islamic prophet Jesus, his life and his teaching are compared with the Christian Jesus, Son of God. In the following part the problems with the divergence in the different teachings connected with the figure of Jesus are explained, e.g. divergent understanding of monotheism. The consensus and the differences that appear in the different conceptions are the principles of a dialogue between these two religions. Easter is one of the major festivals of the Christian church. This master thesis deals with Easter and their colourful tradition. The first part of work is about Jewish festival Passover, Pesach. Christian Easter is connected to the Passover. The Passover festival arises from connection of two holidays Pesach and Matsot. Matsot was originally agricultural holiday and Pesach was nomadic feast connected with offering of the lamb. Later the festivals were coalesced and historicized. The festival has became a reminder of God's liberation of the Israelite from Egyptian slavery. The important component of Pesach is seder. Seder is a passover ritual feast. Jesus' last supper, where he instituted the Lord's Supper, has relationship with seder. The second part of this work deals with folk Easter custome in Czech republic. Origin of many customs is associated with pagan religion. Work outlines the bases of pre-Christian religion of Bohemia and Moravia. Spring was important term in bygone times. The country waken up in this time and it was necessary help this process to establish prosperity for following year. Lots of the Easter customs contains elements of agrarian and sympathetic magic. On the Transplantation of Buddha's Teaching to the West

Západ objavil buddhizmus iba nedávno a nie je tomu ani pol storočia odvtedy, čo sa ľudia žijúci na Západe začali k tejto náuke masovejšie hlásiť. Udomácňovanie buddhizmu na Západe preto ani zďaleka nie je ukončeným dejom; ide o živý, práve prebiehajúci proces, ktorého možné dôsledky sú ešte v nedohľadne. Buddhizmus bol na Západ takpovediac "transplantovaný" z východného kultúrneho okruhu, kde je dlhé storočia doma; v súčasnosti plynú prvé chvíle po operácii; ešte nie je zrejmé, či Západ cudzie teleso vo svojom tele prijme, a ak áno, v akej forme a s akými komplikáciami.1 Prerastanie buddhizmu do západnej spoločnosti je dialógom ako na spirituálnej, tak na kultúrnej rovine. Pritom ide o dialóg ohromných rozmerov, či už ide o šírku preberaných tém, počet ľudí, ktorí sa na ňom zúčastňujú, alebo geografickú vzdialenosť miest, na ktorých prebieha. Máloktorý iný interkultúrny dialóg prebieha na tak veľkej škále, a zároveň v tak pokojnom duchu. Preto sa mi zdá, že analýza fenoménu buddhizmu na Západe môže okrem poznatkov o tomto konkrétnom jave priniesť i určitý vhľad do povahy interkultúrneho a medzináboženského dialógu ako takého.

Funeral and mourning in judaism The thesis, that is presented here, aims to explore an approach towards dying and death in judaism, system of rites in jewish burial, and coping with death with the assistance of these rituals and grieving process. Author focuses on the concept of life and death withing jewish view, depicts the meaning of rituals and healing processes, which follow after death. She also compares grieving, as we know it in judaism, with psychological approach towards grieving, that is with (five) stages of grief according to Elisabeth Kübler - Ross. Through that, the theme embodies a discourse, which allows an interdisciplinary discussion. Author of this thesis is trying to find connections and mutual contribution among the two main showed approaches, finding profits and meanings of funeral rituals and grieving stages, and therefore finding a new view of life, good dying and the healing process of grief.
