EMD instruments and electromagnetic mmunity

The work deals with implantable devices and possibilities of interference of elektromagnetic field. At first, the electromagnetic compatibility is discussed. Basic terms are explained, followed by insisting on resources of possible distrurbing of implantable devices and standards dealing with this issue. Furthermore, short chapter about devices affecting function of implantable devices is introduced. It means devices which patients with implantable devices may meet in common life, as well as devices used in common life, also devices used jn medical environment. In the next part, measuring process of electromamagnetic effect in working compartment of FN Brno magnetotheraphy and elektrotheraphy is devised. There is a concept of measuring card thanks to which impulses of implantable devices are measured. Finally, a description of measuring on implantable devices in FN Brno. MIKULA, D. Funktions of Spectrum Analyser N1996A-503

The theme of this diploma work is to introduce spectrum analzyer Agilent CSA N1996A to readers. In the work there are explained in detail all measuring functions of this machine, there are also mentioned all engineering characteristics and described all operating elements of this machine. In the diploma work is also mentioned the basice division of spectrum analyzers and their principles of activity. In the pracical part there are proposed the measurement assignments for hearers of subject MEMT, where is the possibility to use already mentioned spectrum analyzer. Including of the assignments there are also theoretical analysis of each assignment, their diagrams of wiring, practical metering and interpretation of results.

Measurement problem of low AC voltage

The thesis deals with a problems of measuring small alternating voltage. The aim of the thesis is to explain in general problems of influences on measurement of small alternating voltage and to carry out a concrete measurement according to instructions of CMI. In the next part the thesis deals with the problems of uncertainties for measurement of small AC voltage and a concrete calculation of uncertainties has been made for measurement made in the first part of this thesis.

Data compression

This thesis deals with lossless and losing methods of data compressions and their possible applications in the measurement engineering. In the first part of the thesis there is a theoretical elaboration which informs the reader about the basic terminology, the reasons of data compression, the usage of data compression in standard practice and the division of compression algorithms. The practical part of thesis deals with the realization of the compress algorithms in Matlab and LabWindows/CVI.

Electromagnetic interference and pacemakers

This thesis deals with electromagnetic compatibility of implantable electro-medical devices using in cardiology. The main aim of this thesis is detection of the resistance of implantable pacemakers (PM) and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) to the electromagnetic interference. In the first part of this thesis, a function of the heart, which is necessary for understanding of PM and ICD operation, is described. The function and construction of PM and ICD is detailed in the theoretical part as well. The next part is focused on the electromagnetic compatibility. The next part is description of the measurement method and the experimental arrangement used for practical experiments with electromagnetic resistance of PM and ICD.

Using of accurate capacitance bridge for inductance measurements

This master’s thesis is dealing with possibilities of measurement of inductance by using of accurate capacitance bridge AH 2500E. In metrology there are no appropriate devices available for accurate measurement of inductance. It can be realized by four methods. The newest one is based on T elements, it is not used for this purpose yet and it is practically investigated in CMI Brno. For its introduction to practice it is neccessary to complete computer simulations and analysis of influences affecting measurement. It is also inevitable to examine repeatability of measurement, define methodology of measurement and potential corrections of measured values.
