Competitive success in the performance development of tennis players

Title: Competitive success in the performance development of tennis players Abstract This study deals with the performance development analysis of players, in the conditions of the Czech Tennis Association enviroment (before 1993 of the Czechoslovak Tennis Association), and the aim is to find if the competitive success of Czech, or Czechoslovak players reached in the U12 and U14 age categories relates to their later top performance achievements at the international level. The prospective view analyses national rankings of best U12 and U14 players (during years 1989 - 2011) in relation to their future success at the professional level on the ATP and WTA Tour. The retrospective analysis focuses on players (born 1970 or younger) who reached a top 100 ATP or WTA ranking, and explores their performance development. The qualitative part of the research, based on structured open ended interviews with tennis experts, identifies, confirms and/or reviews the ways of achieving the top tennis performance. This part focuses on three topics of the long-term athletic development in tennis - characteristic features of training, demands on successful players and importance of sport competitions. 6 Abstract Title: Creating a new concept of cheerleading as a sport in the Czech Republic Objectives: Creating a comprehensive overview providing a complex information about the sport discipline called cheerleading. Clarifying the character of the sport of cheerleading. Gathering and submitting a comprehensive description of the sports discipline, a set of rules, mandatory elements, and methodologies of cheerleading. Preparation of a material for Czech Cheerleading Association and Institute of Czech Cheerleading as a base of metodology of cheerleading that will be helpful for cheerleading coaches in the Czech Republic to improve their skills and expending the number of members of the association. Taking photos that will facilitate understanding of issues and eliminate incorrect understanding of theoretical bases in various methodologies. Title: The comparison of the conditions for teaching Educational area of Man and Health in primary and secondary schools Objectives: Research whether schools have such conditions for teaching Educational area of Man and Health in order to achieve the objectives of framework educational programs. Research basic information about the structure of PE teachers in primary and secondary schools and on the structure of PE teachers in Prague and Pilsen region. Research the different conditions of teaching Educational area of Man and Health in primary and secondary schools in Prague and Pilsen Region. Propose appropriate solutions to improve the situation. Methods: We used for comparison of results of non-standardized questionnaire containing mainly closed types of questions. The questionnaire survey was for PE teachers in elementary and secondary schools. The surveyed regions were Pilsen Region and Prague. Results: We found that overall conditions in schools meet the standards of basic curricula. Overall conditions prevent attainment of the objectives and tasks set out in the basic curricula. Sport activities of the persons with mental disabilities

Title: Sports activities for people with mental disabilities Purpose: Give information about the sport of individuals with mental retardation at the sports club level and its personal and materiál provision. Methods of research: Quantitative analysis was used for this thesis. To attain the purpose of research were used non-standard questionnaire . This non-standard questionnaire obtained 23 questions to determine personal and professional provisions at sports clubs associated with the Czech Associaton of Mentalyy Disabled Athletes and also actions where these individual clubs are participating. Results: Based on the research we were able to determine that 63% representatives associated with the Czech Association of Mentally Disabled Athletes have pedagogical education. 73 % of their activity is voluntary, often without any compensation. Material, space and personal conditions are acceptable at club level but possibilities for improvement are in all spheres. Title: Evaluation and classification in academic physical education Goals: The main goal of this work is to analyze the opinion of the current teachers of physical education on the methods of evaluation and classification in academic physical education within elementary and high schools. How is the relation of the tutors towards classification and verbal evaluation of the students within physical education and what are their main criteria for evaluation. Further, evaluate students questionnaires related to their opinion on given classification. Methodology: The methodology used in this work was a research questionnaire within 20 schools in Prague (10 elementary and 10 high). The first questionnaire, which was created for teachers, had 40 questions where the first 36 had a closed form and the remaining 4 questions had an open form, where respondents answered with their own opinion. The second questionnaire was created for students and had 39 questions. Only one answer was possible for each question. Only the last question had an open form. The questionnaire was focused on the ways of the evaluation of students within physical education, criteria for classification within physical education, scarcities and priorities of these ways of evaluation. Title: Relationship of children with intellectual disabilities to physical activities. Subject: Research work was attended by 229 pupils (89 girls and 140 boys, mean age 14, 10 ± 1, 22) Prague's elementary schools practical and 30 pupils (11 girls and 19 boys, mean age 15, 92 ± 1, 28) Prague's elementary schools special. Goal of the research: To determine the relationship of children with intellectual disabilities, respectively pupils in primary schools practical and primary schools special to physical activities. Method: To meet the targets were used two unstandardized questionnaires. Both contained a ten-structured and unstructured items that identify the relationship of children with intellectual disabilities to physical activity - specifically the school physical education (in the first questionnaire) and where applicable sport that kids do in their spare time (in the second questionnaire). Results: Hypothesis, which we assumed most popular physical education as a school subject of elementary school pupils of practical and special, has not been confirmed. Title: Body care and media Goal of the research: The goal of this thesis project is to evaluate information available in TV programmes regarding healthy life style, fitness, and care of human body. In the thesis is analysed the available selection of educational programmes focusing on active lifestyle and the TV commercials on this topic. Research Method: There were two research methods used in the project: a content analysis method and a descriptive method. Results: The number of educational programmes regarding care of human body and healthy lifestyle available on TV is insufficient, although the quality of the programmes is high. The variety of TV commercials shown is wide, but the content of the commercials revolves around beauty and appearance. Commercials that would encourage viewers to be physically active and change their lifestyle were absent entirely.
