The Swimming Event 100m Butterfly in the Period 1957 - 2005

Title: Swimming event of 100 meter butterfly in the period from 1957 to 2005. Objective of the research: The objective of this research is to monitor the development of butterfly stroke in the 100 meter event in both males and females during international competitions completed in 50meter pool in the period from 1957 to 2005. Methodology: Source data for conducting the result part of the thesis were obtained through the historical methods and through researching documents. Obtained data were elaborated with basic statistical analysis and then evaluated by graphs and tables. The main sources were the results from international competitions such as the Olympic Games, World Championships and also FINA annual reports from 1983 to 2005. Results: Presented results show chronological overview of development in the World Records, performance trends and other characteristics related to the researched event. Goals: The goal of the thesis is to find out what is the age of swimmers on world competitions between 2012 and 2016 in freestyle categories for men and women. Methods: The main method used for the thesis was collecting data from official results list from each race. These were obtained on webs FINA and LEN. These data were compared in MS Excel. Results: The results give us information abou average age of swimmers in freestyle swimming disciplines in top competitions between years 2012 - 2016. Title: Training and performance swimmers international level in juniors, seniors and masters Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate swimmers performance and its development during the period of competitive swimming and in the masters category in free style discipline. Particular aims are: to record and evaluate performance and training load in competitive swimming and masters category, to record swimmer's opinion on his/her sport activity and determine his/her sport anamnesis. Methods: In our thesis, we have applied a hybrid type of research, in which we have used both quantitative and qualitative investigation of the selected topic. The quantitative part of the thesis was based on studies of documents and interviews. Data obtained was analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive statistics and tabular and graphic visualization. The methods of observations and interviews were used in the qualitative part of the research to explain sport anamnesis of the swimmer. The investigation was carried out in the competition season of 2011/2012. Results: Result presented demonstrate that even with a lower volume of training and in spite of aging, it is possible to achieve performance approaching the performance of sport swimmers during their top season. Title: The impact of nonspecific exercise on the coordination of the upper extremities in swimming style crawl Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine whether the exercise alternating circling of the upper extremities in standing applied during the swimming lessons has impact on improving technically swimming style crawl. Methods: The research involved 30 probands of the 1st degree of Faculty of Physical Education of Sport Charles University who have never taken part in swimming training. During the research was used only non-invasive methods. The measurement of height of body, upper extremity range and body composition on TANITA device. Testing was carried out in the laboratories of sports motorics at Faculty of Physical Education of Sport in Charles' University. Than testing in swimming pool was attended a swimming test at the distance of 25 and 50 m. Probands were testing in time and it was calculated number of strokes in a swimming test at the distance of 25 to 50 m. Results: In the swimming test of 25 m distance it was statistically significant change in overall performance, only a high degree of material significance was confirmed in the frequency of the strokes. The development of world swimming records in the period 1988-2016

Title: The development of world swimming records in the period 1988-2016 The Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find and compare the development of the world swimming records in the last seven Olympic cycles, in 1988-2016. All individual swimming disciplines were the subject of reseach in the category of men and women swimming in a 50-meter pool. The effort was to assess the progress of the records of individual disciplines, swimming styles and records of men and women. The methods: Data in the bachelor thesis were obtained using the method of examinig historical documents. Data processing and evaluation was done with tabulation sorting and graphic view. The personal archive of the honorary chairman of the Czech Association of Swimming Sports and Swimming Internet Statistics based on the FINA database were the fundamental data source. The Results: The value increase of world records was found in both categories and in all disciplines, in men on average by 4, 48%, in women by 4, 19%. Men managed to swim more world records (men 204, women 177) in the period under review. The world records of men for 100 m breast (7,33%) and 100 m backstroke (6,02%), and the world records of women for 50 m butterfly (7,95%) and 50 m backstroke (5,98%) were improved most. Tuition of crawl stroke technique to children of younger pupil age

Title: Tuition of crawl stroke technique to children of younger pupil age Goal of the thesis: The goal of the thesis is a creation of digital videoprogramme dealing with the current tuition of crawl stroke to children of younger pupil age. The programme depicts a procedure of analytic-synthetic teaching method and presents technical exercises suitable for teaching crawl technique to children of younger pupil age. Methods: Acquired data were collected and evaluated using basic didactic methods of theoretic and empiric acquisition by cognition, where comparison with published theory is possible. Video recordings of exercises were acquired according to a program assembled beforehand. The final videoprogramme was created using computer processing of video recordings. Results: Based on the knowledge gained, possible swimming exercises are suggested in a form of a digital videoprogramme. These exercises are suitable for tuition of children of younger pupil age. Digital video recording illustrates the procedure of analytic-synthetic teaching method, which is suitable for both professional and non-professional communities.
