Connection simulation between master and end unit in passive optical networks
Moravcová, Klára ; Kočí, Lukáš (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to introduce and explain the standards of passive optical networks, their way of establishing connection between master unit and end unit in a network, as well as creating a working simulation in Matlab. The first chapter of this thesis covers the description of optical networks. In the chapter, individual layers of the GPON standard by ITU-T and the EPON standard by IEEE are described. The process of an ONU unit activation towards the OLT unit of these standards is covered in detail. The thesis describes the following standards: EPON, GPON, 10G-EPON, XGPON and NG-PON2. The practical part covers the simulations of the mentioned standards, which are displayed in the form of graphs. The results are interpreted through comparison of the graphs with various input parameters (number of connected ONU units and the length of the distribution network) with a final evaluation of these results.
Wavelength selective switching
Sikora, Vojtěch ; Kočí, Lukáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Optical circuits switching is a rapidly growing area of photonic networks. With increasing requirements of photonic services only software defined networking allows flexible and effective networks creation. This bachelor thesis introduces technologies of optical circuits switching, especially wavelength selective switching node as reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer used in wavelength division multiplexing networks. Using specialized software VPIphotonics the WSS 1x4 and ROADM for an interconnection between Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Vienna was designed.
The Influence of Modulations in optical networks based on OTDM
Kočí, Lukáš ; Šifta, Radim (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis inquires into influence of modulations to transfer in optical nets, with the 320 Gbit/s zone width, based on the OTDM principle. There are also explained effects impacting on the signal transfer by optical fiber, single-mode and multi-mode op- tical fibers are described here and also principles of used technologies of multiplexing are explained. There is compiled the proposal of transmission system, which is subsequently simulated in the OptSim programme. On the initial simulation model there are the mo- dulation formats tested progressively, patterned on theoretic knowledges and its influence on the transmission quality is evaluated.
The modulation techniques used in WDM optical networks
Lučenič, Lukáš ; Filka, Miloslav (referee) ; Kočí, Lukáš (advisor)
The main goal of the diploma thesis is DWDM simulation of optical network, defined by recommandation ITU-T. Optical network includes 16 communication channels with length of fiber 50 km. Each channel have to be set with bandwith 50GHz and Bit rate with minimal value 10Gbit/s. The final simulation model includes 8 types of modulation techniques. The result of the thesis is comparison modulation techniques in terms of usability of bandwith and comparison of the quality of transfer
Impact assessment of split ratios on passive optical network
Gallo, Martin ; Kočí, Lukáš (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the most recent passive optical network standard NG-PON2, describes the sublayer model which includes error correction coding during propagation in optical fibres. Assesses the impact of split ratios using the simulation environment created from defined model and compares various scenarios. Discusses possible sources of errors of simulation model in compare to real deployment.
Influence of the frame size on splitting ratio in the passive optical networks XG-PON
Kočí, Lukáš ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the theoretical definition of passive optical networks, furthermore the description of methods of channel bundling in passive optical networks and the coexistence and migration between standards. The main essence of this work is the XG-PON (10-Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network) standard. This standard is generally defined along with a description of the physical layer. The transport layer is detailed analysis. There is a description of conditions, under which the Optical Network Unit pass through, when is activated. Additionally, this diploma thesis focuses on the processes of connecting Optical Network Units to the Passive Optical Networks and the timing relationships between Optical Network Units and Optical Line Terminal. The simulations demonstrate that as the number of simultaneous connections to Optical Network Unit increase, longer wait time for each additional connection becomes. This also solves the collision conditions, that might arise in communication and the equalization delay. Finally, the diploma thesis deals with the influence of a refractive index on timing relationships.
Units Connecting to the PON
Kočí, L.
Transmission Convergence Layer represents the principal part of the standard for 10Gbit/s networks (XG-PON). There are seven conditions under which the ONUs pass through when activated. The first five conditions focus on implementing data communication. The simulation demonstrates that as the number of simultaneous connections to an ONU increase, the longer the wait time for each additional connection becomes. The speed up of the connecting ONUs has been proven.
Trans-European energy networks - selected issues
Kočí, Luboš ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
This thesis deals with Trans-European energy networks (TEN-E), a program of the EU which has recently undergone significant changes. The main objective of this thesis is to capture the impact of activities of The EU in the framework of TEN-E and energy policy on the status and development of Europe's energy infrastructure and apply the findings to energy networks of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one deals with network industries and their economic specifics. The second chapter deals with energy policy of the EU and development of the internal energy market. The third chapter focuses on TEN-E program and final chapter brings the issues of Czech energy networks.
The European transport policy: air transport
Kočí, Luboš ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Horák, Jiří (referee)
Since 1987 the air transport policy has been an official part of the common transport policy of the Community. The aim of this thesis is to deal with the chronological development of the air transport policy of the EU while focusing on the process of liberalization and its impacts onto the single internal market for aviation within the EU. This thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part there is a general description of the current air transport. The second part deals with the importance of the air transport for the EU. There are mentioned its performance and other figures. The last part, the main and most extensive part of this thesis, is focused on the actual chronological development of the air transport policy within the EU, starting with the first phase of the liberalization process, ending with a look into the future.
