The area is defined by streets Koliště, Nádražní, Benesova and theater. Proposal completes a ring around the historic core of the city, which currently follows the small Brno circuit, formed after the pattern of the Vienna ring road - the Ringstrasse. The ring was created in the late 19th century after demolition of the city walls. These areas have been gradually built up important buildings regional importance and accompanied by green parks. In my proposal builds on an urban study solutions from architectural street Benes RAW studio. The concept follows and respects the continuation of city parks on so called Okruzni boulevard where new green vegetation was created after the destruction of ramparts. The polyfunctional building is located on Benesova street and complements the built-up area as a city creating element. The building was solved as a compact mass of which shape, size and roundness reflects other buildings around. The goal of the design is to connect together Koliste and Benesova street and the city park. The building creates business parterre which makes it possible to reach the Koliste street directly from Benesova street through the building. With the help of parterre and generous staircase we can solve the problematic wall barriere and join together whole area. The character and the scale of building is a modern transcription of historical palaces.

Holá, Martina ; Chládek, Pavel (referee) ; Hybská, Bohumila (advisor)
The main subject of the thesis is a revision of current area framing northwest part of Žerotín Square, that nowadays consists of so called White house (center for children health care and a seat of a medical school). The design is based on theoretical situation concerning the removal of White house and therefore it uses the newly existing place as a subject for new architectural solution. The solution emphasizes the completion of current block of buildings with large courtyard and corner between Žerotín Square and Veveří street, which is very important for traffic. The thesis is focusing on finding the right form, scale and functional content which would reflect the importance of the location, especially focusing on the Brno’s ring road that goes directly to Denisovy sady and accessibility of this city’s part. It also respects the design of the back side of the Red Church. The design uses the newly existing place as a location for new apartment building that reflects the scale of similar buildings in Marešov and other nearby streets and it also proposes administration building as an architectural solution for this location, which would be used as a seat for both municipal and national institutions.

The chosen solution is based on a significant element of the axis intersecting the studied area and allows for new possibilities and throughput bottlenecks as well as the needs of indigenous residents. The new structure is compact but permeable, is one of total serenity set into court. Buildings define its own square on which the park. Living rooms are oriented to this element, as generated by the spontaneous dvorcům compared to the other, where we are going gardens. Old and new buildings mainly divided foliage, to a greater extent original. Height was chosen so that does not diaphragm the existing development and that the occupant was still in touch with events in the street. Distance from the neighboring area is sufficient for satisfactory insolation. The appearance of buildings and facades in the treatment of natural materials give a greater sense of coziness.
