Possibility of using VIS - NIR spectroscopy for predicting the properties of forest soils
Kratina, Josef ; Borůvka, Luboš (advisor) ; Lucie, Lucie (referee)
The aim of this PhD thesis was an objective assessment of application of VNIR spectroscopy for predicting properties of forest soils. For each soil property were found the most appropriate combination of statistical methods for pre-processing (continuum removal, 1. derivation, 2. derivation) and processing (PLSR, PCR, SVM) of certain spectral bands. As generally successful shows a combination of methods 1. derivation and support vector machine throughout the VNIR spectral range (400-2500 nm). In some cases, however, they proved to other models. Among the best predictable features include pH, content of oxidizable carbon, aluminum, iron, silicon, or calcium (at higher concentrations). Not very high success rate prediction was found in indicators that take low values (sodium, manganese, aluminum or ferrous complexes). The results show that VNIR spectroscopy method is applicable for predicting properties of forest soils. It can not completely replace traditional analysis, but it can very well complement, especially in practice. For example, when the soil mapping can help thicken network data and refine the information better than other methods of spatial estimation. It is applicable in cases where it is required large amounts of data in a short timeframe and at minimal cost. It is suitable for monitoring trends over time, or for a quick survey of an area.
Assessing the Potential of Krkonoše´s Resorts for Sustainable Tourism Development
Plšková, Lenka ; Havlíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Lucie, Lucie (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the potential for sustainable tourism development of the Krkonoše Mountains resorts and to compare the assessed region with the region of Orlice River and its surrounding area; with a special regard to the economic aspects of the issue. Theoretical framework of the thesis emphasizes the economic importance of tourism and its impact on the environment. Subsequently, the concept of sustainable development is described and the notions of potential for tourism and the potential for sustainable tourism development are discussed. The theoretical part further summarizes the negative effects of tourism in the Krkonoše Mountains and the selected aspects of Czech environmental and preservation legislation. The methodical bases specify the methodology of assessment and determine the criteria for its measurement. The practical part of the thesis applies the methodology to the territory of the Krkonoše Mountains resorts. Consequently, there is a comparison of the Giant Mountain resorts with Orlice River and its surrounding area. Summary of the thesis contains the answers to the research questions and verifies the hypotheses focused on the economic aspects of the issue. Finally, the proposals and recommendations for destination management and other interest groups are set out.
Tourist Destination Value - Southern Bohemia
Horňáková, Lucie ; Havlíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Lucie, Lucie (referee)
This master thesis is focused on the way tourist destinations of South Bohemia are treated. In the theoretical part of the thesis, fundamental terms are defined, such as tourism, tourist destination, its attractivity and ways of measurement, destination as a system. Furthermore we focus on the methodology used in this thesis, especially Q-methodology and Likert's scale. In the practical part, attractivity of tourist destination is evaluated by South Bohemian residents. The result of the research is the comparisons of the results based on the Q-methodology and Likert's scale.

Gdovinová, Jana ; Steininger, Michal (advisor) ; Lucie, Lucie (referee)
The aim of this theses is to create analysis of selected health insurance campenies and theirs comparison under the agreement of chosen criterions between 2010 and 2014. Partial aims - to find which offer (benefits) Czech health insurances provide for insured persons in comparison with Slovac ones. The first part of the analytical work is focused on the analysis of the Czech health insurances. In this part are individual health insurances analysed from the point of view of the number of insured persons, the accessibility of health insurances, the yearly cost of one insured person, the number of the insured persons that falling on one employee, the average expended cost for pharmaceuticals for each insured person, the average income from insurance for one insured person and the offering enlarging health care. In the second part of the analytical work are analysed Slovac health insurances from the same point of view. The last part of the analytical work is focused on the comparative analyses of six Czech and Slovac insurance companies. There are two fictitious families which want to use the benefits from six comparative health insurances. The both fictitious families will find out, which financial amount oh the benefit they could achieve, according to facts that are mentioned about them. Despite discovered differences between explored categories it is possible to say that Czech and Slovac health servicies are almost comparable to each other even 20 years after the division the Czechoslovakia.
