The app which is created is sending a request to smart meters together with Denial of service attacks. Hping3 is used for generating DoS attacks and several options of attack are available. The app is created in Java. Received results are shown in form CSV and also graphically in the web application.
Smart modul integrated in power plug
Rusz, Martin ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is focus on Powerline Communication technology and select a suitable type of broadband integrated circuit for the integration of a broadband communication module into an electrical installation box. In the introduction of this work, the Powerline Communication technology, the principle of communication, individual types of technology, factors influencing the quality of transmission, current possibilities and setting goals necessary for the design of the module are analyzed in detail. The result is a miniaturized functional prototype of a fully integrated broadband PLC modem in a wiring box.
BPL modem
Chromý, David ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the issue of PLC with a focus on BPL technology (Broadbandover-power lines), which is explained in the theoretical part. The work describes in detailthe main components for PCB design with manufacturing and mounting process. Fur-thermore, the thesis provides instructions on how to establish communication betweenBPL modems and a description of individual functions. In conclusion, the procedureof measuring the noise intensity in the 230 V power line is described with the results. The output of the diploma thesis is the selection of components and the implementationof printed circuit boards for two BPL modems. These modems allow to measure SNR(signal to noise ratio) at physical speed.
Smart Home - library for data acquisition
Tomiczek, Roman ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the development of a software library for aggregating data from electricity meters and sending data to a central station. The most used protocols in smart grids are described. The work deals in more detail with the most important parts of the DLMS/COSEM standard. The DLMS protocol is described, which ensures communication between clients and servers. Next, the COSEM object model is described, which specifies object modeling, for access to measuring devices, and the OBIS system, which determines the identification of data objects. The Gurux library, which specializes in intelligent meter readings, is also described. The results of the work describe the implementation and testing of a software library for aggregation of data from servers using the DLMS/COSEM protocol using the GURUX library. At the end of the work is described a series of tests that were performed using this software library.
Influence of physical parameters and age of power lines on PLC/BPL performance and reliability
Benešl, Lukáš ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
BPL technology is quite widespread nowadays and the public is also somewhat aware of it. This technology can be used as a means of communication without the need to install additional media and thus use the existing infrastructure. In an effort to use the full potential of the technology, BPL communication began to be used to monitor the current state of cables in distribution networks online. Where the technology is already fully implemented, the distributor can use the data to evaluate the current situation. In this way, BPL technology can be used as a diagnostic tool to test the quality of a cable connection on which not only time but also humidity and other external influences could have a significant effect.
Automated cyber security tester for smart devices in industry
Dávidík, Roland ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis explains the principle of SCADA systems and describes the DLMS/COSEM protocol. In the next part, it shortly describes the Modbus protocol and details the pros and cons of the Modbus protocol in comparison with the DLMS/COSEM protocol. In the next part, an open-source automated scanner was created. This scanner detects devices in a laboratory network. As the next step, the automated scanner finds out open ports and active services, which run on these devices, and tries to attack HTTP, SSH, and Telnet services. Next, the program checks, whether the found device is a smart-meter device and if it is compatible with DLMS/COSEM protocol. If yes, it checks, if the service is vulnerable to DOS attack and breaker disconnection. Scanner’s findings are presented in a newly created web application. NMAP, Masscan, and Metasploit open-source programs are used in the automated scanner. The whole automated scanner is optimized for the HW device Raspberry Pi with the operating system Raspbian Buster Lite installed. This work also describes the testing of the scanner on the laboratory environment and the results are evaluated afterwards.
Simulator of SCADA protocols
Bohačík, Antonín ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Blažek, Petr (advisor)
This work is focused on creation of fully functional communication generator of IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. The theoretical part explains in detail the basic principles, properties and possibilities of communication standards DNP3, IEC 60870 and IEC 61850. The next part is focused on the analysis of communication and implementation of this communication in the PQ MEg44PAN device. The last part deals with the configuration of Raspberry Pi 3 devices and the communication emulation of the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. All programs were written and tested using the Clion development environment.
DLMS/COSEM load generator
Kohout, David ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is focused on Smart Metering, specifically the DLMS/COSEM specification. The paper describes most important parts of the standard and its application in smart grids. At first the DLMS protocol is examined. It is responsible for everything related in communication between clients and servers. Next described think is object model COSEM and its objects called OBIS. It shows how can we reference to these objects. In the second part – Traffic analyser are shown options of analysis of DLMS messages. This is after used for monitoring purposes. There is also described network topology including laboratory equipment. All devices were used for developing and testing the load generator of DLMS messages. App, which was created for this work is then described. The paper also assesses found problems in security and implementation of DLMS protocol.
Smart Metering system
Gregor, Filip ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with a PLC technology. In the theoretical part a principle of PLC functionality and its advantages and disadvantages were described. In the experimental part methodology of point-to-point testing with BPL modems was designed. In addition extensive measurement according to point-to-point methodology for topology with and without repeater in laboratory was realized. Impact of repeater on transmission parameters was tested according to RCF 2544, RFC 6349 recommendation and according to methodology of TCP Throughput with the aid of Net Blazer testers and iPerf tool. The results shows that topology with repeater decreases throughput approximately 50 % and increases Round trip time (RTT) more than twice compared to topology without repeater. In the last part a laboratory task with Smart Metering system and BPL modems was designed.
