Slot-spiral antenna array

The semestral thesis considers a Archimedean spiral slotted leaky-wave antenna as having a beneficial antenna parameters [7], thus aiming at reproducing the results so as to either validate or disprove them. The antenna is fabricated in a way of commonly known leaky-wave antenna, which is based on a substrate-integrated waveguide. Archimedean spiral slots are introduced into the substrate, creating unique structure fed by coaxial conductors. Moreover, claiming to attain beam switching ability, double-layer substrate-integrated waveguide is proposed, having four feeding ports. Both aforementioned structures are created, simulated and comparison is made using the ANSYS HFSS software.

Implantable circularly polarized antenna

Táto práca sa zaoberá novou miniaturizovanou kruhovo polarizovanou mikropáskovou anténou v tvare kruhu, ktorá bola navrhnutá pre Industrial, Scientific, and Medical pásmo (2.4 -- 2.5 GHz). Navhrnutá anténa bola vytvorená v ANSYS HFSS, najprv bola umiestnená do jendnovrstvého modelu ľudskej kože a jej parametre sú porovnané s pôvodným listom. Anténa je potom umiestnená do trojvrstvého modelu ľudského tkaniva a je pozorované ako iné prostredie a rôzna hĺbka implantácie ovplyvňuje jej parametre. Anténa bola optimalizovaná na dostupné substráty, vyrobená a zmeraná. Lineárne polarizovaná prijímacia anténa bola navrhnutá a vyrobená a bol zmeraný prenos medzi ňou a kruhovo polarizovanou anténou pri rôznych vzájomných orientáciach.

Web application for antenna analysis

Měla být vyvinuta webová aplikace pro zjednodušenou analýzu anténních polí. sestávající z drátových dipólů nebo náplasťových prvků. Původně se předpokládalo, že výpočetní jádro bude vyvinuto v prostředí MATLAB a webové rozhraní v jazyce Python. Studie proveditelnosti ukázala, že plné v jazyce Python je výhodné. Vyvinuté funkce Pythonu pro analýzu a syntézu antén jsou stručně popsány a jejich funkčnost je ověřena v prostředí MATLAB.

Circularly polarized superstrate antenna for CubeSat

The thesis is focused on parameter verification of a circularly polarized antenna with a superstrate, which was designed for CubeSat and presented in the research paper [1]. The frequency band of the designed antenna is from 8.35 to 8.95 GHz. First, the antenna is analyzed without the superstrate layer. Varying the feed position and antenna element dimensions, the changes of reflection coefficient at the input is matched. Second, an overall simulation with a superstrate layer is performed. The antenna substrate was replaced with ARLON 25N microwave substrate available in the laboratory, and the antenna was optimized for this substrate. Finally, such an antenna is fabricated, and its measured parameters are compared with the simulation results.

Filtering antenna based on coaxial cavity resonators

Táto práca je zameraná na overenie funkčnosti navrhnutého konceptu laditeľnej filtračnej anténny. Anténa je navrhnutá tak aby spájala filtračnú a vyžarovaciu funkciu do jedného celku. Po odsimulovaní a overení správnej funkčnosti navrhovanej anténny [1] v elektromagnetickom simulátore, sa práca zaoberá možnosťami vylepšenia parametrov anténny. Na dosiahnutie vyššej smerovosti a zisku je navrhnuté riešenie kedy je na koniec filtračného vlnovodu pridaná pyramídová horn anténna. Obdŕžane výsledky sú následne použité pre navh antény integrovanej do subtrátu.

Substrate integrated phased antenna array

Tato semestrální práce se zabývá návrhem a ověřením fázované anténní řady integrované do substrátu pro kmitočtové pásmo Ka pomocí simulačního programu ANSYS HFSS. Anténní řada je buzena štěrbinou na horní stěně vlnovodu a fázována změnou vzdálenosti mezi deskou s vysokou permitivitou a štěrbinou na dolní stěně. Parametry antény jsou porovnány s parametry anténní řady navržené s prokovy vlnovodu nahrazené stěnami. Dále anténní řada integrována do substrátu se zvětšenými rozměry prokovů je navržená a simulována.

Flexible textile-integrated coils for inductive energy transfer

This work aims to describe the design of flexible textile coils in several variants (different coil dimensions, different designs). The parameters of the designed coils will be verified using simplified simulation models and compared with theoretical calculations. Further, the work deals with the practical design of coils, including the measurement of their basic parameters and determination the efficiency of inductive power transfer.

Circularly polarized antenna integrated into 3D knitted fabric

The thesis deals with the circularly polarized planar antenna with a working frequency of 5.8 GHz, which was published in [1]. For the antenna, a numerical model in ANSYS HFSS was created to verify the correctness of published parameters. The antenna [1] is of a relatively complicated geometry. In order to demonstrate sense of this geometry, a numerical model of a circularly polarized patch antenna with a working frequency of 5.8 GHz [2] was created. Simulated parameters of both the circularly polarized antennas were mutually compared. The antenna [1] was shown to exhibit a better directivity and a higher gain in the main lobe direction. Both the antennas were then optimized for the 2.4 GHz operation band and a textile substrate. Simulations showed that the patch antenna exhibits on a lower frequency and a textile substrate a higher gain and a better directivity. Both the antennas were manufactured by using a copper foil. The circularly polarized planar antenna [1] was additionally manufactured by screen printing to achieve better parameters. Measurement showed that the best parameters reach the patch antenna [2]. Planar antennas [1] in the 2.4 GHz frequency band did not meet the expectations by the size and complexity on the textile substrate.

Wearable antenna array for backscatter communication

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na návrh a praktickou realizaci nové nositelné a do textílie integrované twin-grid anténní řady pro potencionální komunikaci zpětným rozptylem v pásmu ISM na frekvenci 5,8 GHz. Práce se zabývá konceptem návrhu, principy a optimalizací navržené anténní řady určené k integraci do tkanin. Za účelem ověření správnosti výsledků jsou prezentovány simulace numerického modelu anténní řady vytvořené v CST Microwave Studio. Následně byly realizované dva prototypy antény pomocí 3D pleteniny SINTEX. První prototyp byl vytvořen pomocí PCB technologie ze samolepící měděné fólie. Druhý prototyp byl implementován pomocí technologie sítotisku za použití stříbro-polymerové pasty. Na závěr jsou s pomocí agarového fantomu experimentálně změřeny vlastnosti vyrobených prototypů anténních řad s následným zhodnocením výsledků tohoto měření a jejich porovnáním s výsledky simulace.

Antenna array for Ku band

This diploma thesis deals with the selection of antenna elements suitable for use in an ultra-wide band antenna array for radar applications. The selection is followed by the design and measurement of a prototype. The realized gain of the whole structure, the main beam width and the possibility of electronic beamforming in the horizontal plane are the most important parameters of the designed antenna array. The numerical model of the selected antenna element was developed, and parameters were verified to exploit the element in the antenna array. Afterwards, the array was created as a numerical model. Results produced by simulations were verified by measuring the prototype subsequently.
