The main focus in this diploma thesis is to analyse ARM microcontroller ATSAM3X8E, audio codec TLV320DAC3203 and CAN / RS485 bus for communication possibly used in device design. This device's purpose is to establish communicatio between elevator cabin and central control unit. Finally, there is design made for this communication device and measurement of CAN bus speed on H05VVH6 cable.
Vectoring in xDSL systems
Rada, Dominik ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis presents the approximation of VDSL2 and G.fast transmission systems according to pre-selected cable types. The thesis is also focused on the principle of vectoring and its use. The components of the thesis are explained by initialization process in modems with support of vectoring and approximation of Pre-Coder algorithms. A part of the thesis is a created user application in MATLAB, which displays the influence of vectoring on the transfer rates based on user input. In addition, the application captures primary and secondary line parameters, transmission characteristics, and transmitted masks.
Network components monitoring using Munin
Vicen, Šimon ; Krejčí, Jan (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on monitoring systems, particularly on network elements monitoring with emphasis on ways of how we can securely access monitored parameters in work with modules and plugins in Munin environment. Moreover the thesis analyze creating new plugins in Munin enviroment with graphical output of an HTML file.
DOCSIS Technology in Access Networks
Pirohanič, Lukáš ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis explains the design and implementation of data communication between a central unit and a cable modem. Suitable transfer medium and intermediate devices for signal forking and amplification are chosen in practical part of the work. The upstream and downstream channel transfer rates are tested using modulation techniques and also testing the DOCSIS Network for qualitative parameters and laboratory task dealing with the DOCSIS standard. The theoretical part describes DOCSIS standard, CATV network architecture and signal modulation during transmission.
Demonstration of optimal receivers for the AWGN channel
Musil, Petr ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with the demonstration of bit error rate reduction techniques. In the theory section, different techniques of bit error rate reduction are presented, followed by the introduction of the communication channel and the communication system parameters. Each technique is simulated in Matlab Simulink environment using the additive white Gaussian noise channel model. The simulations are captured in waveform oscillograms of all the signal processing stages. The practical section of this thesis offers a functional laboratory solution demonstrating different ways of transmission: a direct-path signal, a path with a cross-correlation receiver and a path using matched filtering. The individual circuits are described in detail, including waveform oscillograms of the signal processing blocks for illustration. Furthermore, the practical section presents printed circuit boards designs, comprehensive documentation for production, measurement results and a sample laboratory protocol.
WebRTC implementation in Open-source PBX's
Šalko, Jaroslav ; Papež, Nikola (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
The topic of this work is verification of support WebRTC communication through selected Open Source PBX. This work examine demands for WebRTC communications and describes configuration of branch centers for this type of communication. In the theoretical part is reader acquainted with the term WebRTC and with protocols related to this kind of communications. The purpose of this part of the work is to bring the reader closer look to the principles of functioning to ensuring support for this kind of communications. This is also connected with Description of basic interfaces of WebRTC applications. Further the reader finds the configuration of the selected Open Source PBX so that they can make audio-video call between WebRTC clients. This section is divided into three subchapters, each of it deals with the same problems for one of the aforementioned PBX. At the end of each chapter where the PBX PBX is configured step-by-step, test calls are made. These calls are captured by the Wireshark packet analyzer and serve as a demonstration of the WebRTC configuration functionality. At the end of this section, PBXs are compared against each other about WebRTC support. Practical part is dealing with laboratory task for students which are studying subject telecommunication and information systems. In the task students will be configuring WebRTC for PBX Asterisk. The task contains brief description of WebRTC and comments for all steps for configuration. All steps and facts are demonstrated by exemplary configuration files.
Equalization of the transmission channel
Žlebek, Lukáš ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
This thesis describes a design of a simulation of transmission of digital information via communication system and equalization of communication function. The layout of communication channel with multiway transmission is described in following part. Next part is about hardware modulator which generate modulated signal which is transmitted via communication channel and after is sampled by A/D convertion card to computer, where is equalizated and demodulated in Simulink. In the last part of this thesis, there is proposal of the laboratory task and its sample solution.
G.fast transmission technology
Zvařič, Filip ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on G.fast and VDSL2 technologies and their comparison. G.fast has the prerequisites for replacing VDSL2 for short distances. This work describes in detail the modulation techniques of both DSL technologies - DMT modulation used by both technologies. The aim of this work is to create a software for comparing the transfer rates of all profiles of both technologies, including the effects of far-end crosstalk. This is performed in the Matlab environment. This work describes how the program works and how to run the simulations. The results of selected simulations and their charts are enclosed in this work.
Analysis of digital modulation robustness at various types of interference
Uher, Tomáš ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis concisely describes essential type of modulation technique for transmission of binary signal. In first part there are summarized advantages and disadvantages for each described modulation technique. There are described proceeding of modulation and demodulation too. Selected digital modulations are tested for Gaussian, Rice and Rayleigh transmission channels. In final part there are compared theoretical and measured values and summarized analysis.
Turbo codes and their applications in transmission technologies
Kuvik, Michal ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
Purpose of this work is to clarify problems of anti-error security with the help of turbo codes. This work can be divided into two parts. In the first part we look at the theoretical aspect of features of turbo codes, their coding and at various approaches of decoding secure messages for example SOVA and MAP, also at analyzing usage of turbo codes in promising transmission technologies. Second part is focused on creating an application with the help of software Matlab and on verifying attributes of this method in this software.
