Fracture Toughness of Metallic Materials and its Testing
Kosek, Lukáš ; Zapletal, Josef (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
The purpose of the work is to introduce the basic of the fracture toughness of metallic materials and its measuring under the conditions of the plane strain. There are shown essential concepts of the linear elastic fracture mechanics, which is used for the description of the material behavior at fracture of the material with a crack. It defines stress intensity factor and describes the main elements influencing the fracture toughness. Furthermore, the work contains the particular testing methods, specimens and testing equipments. In the conclusion it recapitulates the availability and the application of the linear elastic fracture mechanics.
Toughness of Metallic Materials and its Testing
Michalisko, Jan ; Zapletal, Josef (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor work deals with toughness as a mechanical property of metal materials. It defines the toughness and its demonstrations. It describes the transient behaviour of some metals at the static and dynamic load. Furthermore, the work describes the particular testing methods (Charpy‘s, Izod‘s, DWT, DT, DWTT). It covers the historical consequences of toughness testing.
Handling the Rests of Extinguishing Agents with Regard to Environmental Protection and Storage of Waste
Zapletal, Jan ; Mika, Otakar Jiří (referee) ; Valášek, Rudolf (advisor)
The enormous development of industry and commerce, especially the chemical industry, began in the CR after 1993. The chemical industry is one of the world's leading and fastest-growing sector now. It covers a wide range of technologies and therefore provides a variety of products. This has resulted in increased demands on fire fighters, mainly for technological processes during the fire fighting and for extinguishing agents that are used for putting out the fires.
Bauschinger effect and cyclic plasticity in constructional magnesium alloy.
Holas, Jiří ; Gejdoš, Pavel (referee) ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is dealing with low cycle - fatigue behavior of formed magnesium alloy AZ61 and detection of cyclic plasticity with possibility of Bauschinger effect influence. In addition of fatigue properties metallographic evaluation of microstructure and also evaluation of mechanical qualities was made.
Utilization of Czech and European Transport Information Systems for the Road Transport of Dangerous Goods
Zapletal, Jan ; Krejčí, Libor (referee) ; Adamec, Vladimír (advisor)
The topic of my thesis is an application of Czech and European transport systems for shipping dangerous articles by road transport. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first one is pointed to importance of effective legislation in the Czech Republic and the European Union, which is dedicated to shipping the dangerous articles by road transport. Also it regards to risks of accidents and possible ecologic impacts to an environment. This part compares the amount of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic and states of the EU in a frame of ADR. It shows the risks related to shipping the dangerous articles by road transport. The closing part belongs to important elements of safe transportation of dangerous matters. The second part of the thesis analyses current state of shipping information systems in the Czech Republic and in the European Union. There is the analysis, the suggestions for improvement of the systems´ efficiency and its application in the Czech Republic. The closing part belongs to my own project of shipping information system.
Strain-stress analysis of fixed bone of foot
Zapletal, Jakub ; Fuis, Vladimír (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with analysis of the rigidity of different variations of foot fixations. In the thesis there is a description of elementary anatomy of foot and its patology. Furthermore the possible corrections of hallux deformities and chosen fixators are described. The problem of analysis is soluted by the method of finite elements. The thesis also includes steps of geometery model creation based on 3D scanning. Three differents types of fixations are compared in this thesis and each of them is created in two different levels of details. There is a comparation, analysis of final solutions and chosen influences on the rigidity in the conclusion.
Correlation of the Small punch test parameters with conventional mechanical properties of nonferous alloys
Papež, Pavel ; Šebek, František (referee) ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis is focused on description of the penetration techniques called Small punch test, it‘s advantages and disadvantages, sample removal techniques, different types of construction and mechanisms appearing in it's process. Further the thesis describes different methods of correlation of acquired parameters to classical testing methods, with focus on basic mechanical properties, fractographic and creep properties. At the end is an experimental part on aluminium alloy EN AW 2024. The experiment consisted of correlation to tensile test and shows asymetry of mechanical properties in different directions of material.
Tension - compression asymetry non-ferous alloys
Čavojec, Martin ; Judas, Jakub (referee) ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor)
Bakalářská práce se zabývá asymetrickou odezvou na tahové a tlakové zatěžování neželezných kovů, jmenovitě hořčíkových slitin. Popisuje základní problematiku zkoušek tahem a tlakem, experimentální stanovením asymetrické odezvy, vliv rozličných parametrů na asymetrickou odezvu na tahové a tlakové zatěžování, a také možný popis asymetrie jako funkci orientace a textury. Na závěr práce popisuje experimentální stanovení a vyhodnocení asymetrické odezvy na tlakové a tahové zatěžování hořčíkové slitiny AZ61, s metalografickou analýzu tyto slitiny.
Extremely low cycle fatigue life of non-ferrous alloys
Judas, Jakub ; Kohout, Jan (referee) ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor)
This thesis is focused on fatigue behaviour of aluminium alloy 2024-T351 in low cycle and extremely low cycle fatigue regime. Test specimens were firstly subjected to quasi-static tensile and compression tests to establish basic mechanical properties of the experimental material. Fatigue tests were conducted in strain-control mode, when cyclic plastic response and S-N curves were determined. All of the experiments were conducted at room temperature. Shapes of mechanical hysteresis loops are dependent on the strain amplitude and clearly exhibit cyclic plasticity of the alloy. Cyclic deformation curve was fitted by power regression function and subsequently compared with the tensile test. Experimental data of the S-N curves were fitted by Manson-Coffin and Wöhler-Basquin law. The discrepancy of the fatigue data was observed in the extremely low cycle fatigue regime. Based on this phenomenon, new regression function was used to overcome shortening of fatigue life in the extremely low cycle regime.
Review of methods to determining wear in hip replacements
Zapletal, Jakub ; Vrbka, Martin (referee) ; Ranuša, Matúš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analysis issues of observation and measurement of wear on hip replacements. First of all there is a description of historical milestones in development of hip prosthesis. Afterwards there is a recherché study of measuring methods and devices, whereas each one of them is reviewed for pros and cons. In the last section these methods are compared and there is an author’s recommendation for the most viable method for observation and measurement of wear on hip prosthesis.
