Economic cohesion and regional differentiation of the EU

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the territorial differentiation of the European Union and selected member countries. In this context I observe the differences in major socio-economic indicators (in GDP per capita and employment rates) across the European Union and in more detail in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Furthermore, I focus on explaining the development and the current setting of EU regional policy at EU level and the CR. The thesis is structured into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on assessing the economic, social and regional differentiation of the Member States and EU regions. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of regional structure and differentiation of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The final chapter covers the development and current form of regional and structural policy of the European Union.
Impacts of the Structural Funds of the European Union on examples of microregions Tachov

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the effect of drawing funds from structural funds of EU to specific areas of the Czech Republic which is the region Tachov and micro-regions, which are located there. A sub-goal is to determine whether the observed micro-regions fulfill its role in the region, and whether there are other forms of small regional groups which are able to effectively draw and allocate financial resources from EU funds. The first part is a concise definition of regional policy and its implementation in the Czech Republic accompanied by a description of EU funds, which goes from support to the regions. The next section is characterized by the region Tachovsko and its micro-regions. The area is analyzed from both an economic and social terms and is conducted SWOT analysis. Next chapter deals with the operational programs that are relevant for the investigated area. The central part deals with the evaluation of projects in the both programming period, in 2004-2006 and in 2007-2013. It created a comprehensive overview of all completed and ongoing projects that are examining the impact of utilization of EU funds. Base on these findings are suggested for the region and both micro-regions for one thing in the drawing of funds EU and for another in activities in the field of micro-regions.
Anaylisis of the entrance of the Czech Republic to the Schengen area

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the process of the Czech republic's entrance to the Schengen area. In the beginning of the thesis is described the content of Schengen agreements and their inclusion in the creation of a single market. Second part is dedicated to preparations and measures, which the Czech Republic had to take and accept on the way to Schengen. The effects resulting for the Czech Republic from participation in Schengen area are evaluated in the last part.
Microfinance in the EU

This work deals with microfinance in the EU. It explains the relationship among the EU instruments, programmes and initiatives, and it brings the most important information about all available products for both potential providers and potential clients. The work focuses mainly on the European Progress Microfinance Facility and its supporting products. It also contains brief historic development of microfinance, information about financing of microcredits in the EU, real life examples and critics of microfinance.
The impact of financial and economic crisis on the Spanish economy

This tesis presents the Spanish economy and main causes of a long-term economic growth before global crisis in 2007. The work descibes evolution of financial and economic crisis in Spain and analyses the impact on the real estate market, construction and banking sector. Great part is dedicated to the unemployment and possibilities of its elimination. The aim f the tesis is to evaluate anti-crisis measures and structural reforms of the spanish governmet, which should guarantee sustainable improvement of economy.
Actual position of the EU in the world economy in the context of the financial crisis

This thesis focuses on the economic process of the European Union during last period, especially on impacts of financial crisis. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the position of this integration in context of the crisis, mainly from view of macroeconomic and non-economic indicators. The final capture is devoted the most actual problems, mostly to the Eurozone crisis, but also opportunities and threats, which the EU is about to confront.
Accession of Croatia to the EU

This bachelor thesis focuses on the changes in Croatia during the 21 years of their independence which led to accession of Croatia to the EU and presents the country as a 28th member of EU. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter explains the political development of Croatia since 1991 till today. The second one is focused on the economic development of the country. The final chapter concentrates itself on the accession negotiations of Croatia with EU, and describes the most important disputes which made the negotiations so slow. This bachleor thesis provides an answer to question if the Croatia is ready to be a new member of EU.
Comparison of political and economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo-Kinshasa and the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville

The presented thesis "Comparison of political and economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo-Kinshasa and the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville" aims to familiarize the reader with political and economic development of these countries on the background of historical events from early history to the present day, to analyze their differences, and to find the cause of greater economic prosperity of the Republic of Congo. The paper deals with the current situation in both countries, points to the steps that the countries make, and presents their perspective for the future. The first four chapters of the thesis are based mainly on indirect political and economic comparison with an emphasis on the dominant ruling of Mobutu Sese Seko in the DRC and Denis Sassou Nguesso in the RC. The fifth chapter determines the differences of the economic development of the countries by using various economic indicators.
Economic development in Slovakia after the split of Czechoslovakia

The work is focused on the economic development of Slovakia after the split of Czechoslovakia in the aftermath of the events after 1989. Economy development of Slovakia was mainly influenced by the process of transition from centrally planned to a market economy, the accession of Slovakia to the EU and the euro area. These factors are described in the first and second part. The third part of the work captures the impact of these processes on the development of basic macroeconomic indicators.
Regional operational programmes: realization and case studies

The thesis deals with evaluation of finances drawing in operational programmes, especially in regional ones, and provides also description of project documentation that is needed to get a subsidy from regional operational programme. The diploma paper comprises basic data about regional policy of the European Union and about implementation of this policy in the Czech Republic. The thesis carries on with the system of operational programmes in the Czech Republic, gives insight into regional operational programmes and analyses the state of finances drawing. Last part focuses on project preparing for getting a subsidy from structural funds, especially on feasibility study and project application.
