Modelling eye movements during Multiple Object Tracking
Děchtěrenko, Filip ; Lukavský, Jiří (advisor) ; Toth, Peter Gabriel (referee)
In everyday situations people have to track several objects at once (e.g. driving or collective sports). Multiple object tracking paradigm (MOT) plausibly simulate tracking several targets in laboratory conditions. When we track targets in tasks with many other objects in scene, it becomes difficult to discriminate objects in periphery (crowding). Although tracking could be done only using attention, it is interesting question how humans plan their eye movements during tracking. In our study, we conducted a MOT experiment in which we presented participants repeatedly several trials with varied number of distractors, we recorded eye movements and we measured consistency of eye movements using Normalized scanpath saliency (NSS) metric. We created several analytical strategies employing crowding avoidance and compared them with eye data. Beside analytical models, we trained neural networks to predict eye movements in MOT trial. The performance of the proposed models and neuron networks was evaluated in a new MOT experiment. The analytical models explained variability of eye movements well (results comparable to intraindividual noise in the data); predictions based on neural networks were less successful.
Simulation of nesting of birds
Tóth, Peter ; Knap, Tomáš (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
Theory (Storch and Frynta, 1999) suggest that in a process of the evolution some species acquire ability to select better habitats upon presence of habitat features which correlate with expected tness. As far as we know this theory was not yet tested with computational agent-based model. In this thesis we introduce computational agent-based model describing life cycle of autonomous agents in their habitat for studying evolution of habitat selection according to the theory. Results of the simulation show ability of the agents to adopt on differenct habitats by acquision of proper cognitive clues and formation of separate groups of agents within species.
Stereo microphone preamplifier with integrated ADC
Tóth, Péter ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
he aim of this work is to design a mobile microphone preaplifier with integrated ADC suitable for in field work. In the intruduction a general overwiev is presented about the history of sound recording and it also deals with the parameters of the devices designed in this work. In the next chapter the contruction of each module is described.

Currency Shocks to Export Sales of Importers: A Heterogeneous Firms Model and Czech Micro Estimates
Tóth, Peter
To what extent can exporters cushion the impact of currency appreciation shocks by using imported intermediates? We apply a partial equilibrium model with heterogeneous firms. Producers can serve the domestic market, export final goods, or import inputs. In the model, an exogenous exchange rate shock simultaneously affects the variable costs and revenues associated with exports and imports. The impact of a hypothetical 1% appreciation of the domestic currency on sales is estimated using a panel of 7,356 Czech manufacturing firms observed from 2003 to 2006. We focus on the above period to exploit the rich within-firm variation in trade strategies. The variation is probably associated with the lifting of trade barriers due to Czech EU membership since 2004. For firms that both export and import, the model predicts a drop in total sales of 0.2%, a drop in export sales of 0.8%, and a rise in domestic sales of 0.2%.

Short-term forecasting of czech quarterly GDP using monthly indicators
Arnoštová, Kateřina ; Havrlant, David ; Růžička, Luboš ; Tóth, Peter
Writers evaluate the out-of-sample forecasting performance of six competing models at horizons of up to three quarters ahead in a pseudo-real time setup. All the models use information in monthly indicators released ahead of quarterly GDP.

Effects of price shocks to consumer demand: Estimating the QUAIDS demand system on czech household budget survey data
Dybczak, Kamil ; Tóth, Peter ; Voňka, David
The purpose of this paper is to describe consumer behavior in the Czech Republic by estimating a demand system in which demand depends on income and prices, but also on other factors such as age, size of the household, and position on the labor market.
