Law and needs of adoptive parents and problemtic areas in the process of adoption

Bachelor thesis deals with the adoption system issue in Czech Republic. It focuses primarily on the rights and needs of adopters in the adoption process and problematic parts of the adoption system. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part defines the basic terms and legal regulations of adoption and chronologically describes the process of adoption from the decision making for adoption through the submission of application form, expert assessment of applicants, completion of preparation and psychological testing to the period of waiting for the child and the period after adoption. In the methodological part is defined the conducted qualitative research, in which were interviewed various participants of the adoption process: social workers, NGO workers and adoptive parents. Results of the research are then interpreted in the last, analytical part. There were defined many problematical parts and they permeate all phases of adoption process. Regional Family Policy in the Czech Republic

The Bachelor thesis "Local family policy in the Czech Republic" puts mind to the implementation of local family policy in practice and to its connection with community planning of social services. In the beginning of my thesis I attend to the definition of local family policy in the Czech Republic, of community planning of social services and their possible instruments. On the basis of my interviews and the study of various documents I realized that municipalities and regions don't exploit possibilities of support of families, that the law about municipalities and the law about regions give them, and that they implement support of families by project of community planning of social services. So in the next part of my thesis I put my mind to possible connection between this project and the implementation of local family policy. In the following part of my thesis I deal with two projects of local family policy and with the aid of outcomes of interviews I examine the satisfaction of families with practical realization of these projects. At the end of my thesis I identify main problems of the implementation of local family policy in the Czech Republic. Potential of Social Capital for Rural Development

The topic of this thesis seems to be very actual and demanded. The active role of all the participants confirms it. It was proved the countryside has to solve a lot of serious problems. The mayors are those, who have to carry this burdens and responsibility for solutions. Nevertheless they don't have enough resources especially financial, personal and social to effectively solve the problems. Thus they are more under pressure of actual problems than on the place of strategic planning. Meeting this disappointing conditions there are some problems at some villages satisfactorily solved. The big role is assigned to active inhabitants, which have their own inner motivation not connected to any material reward. Building relationships with them and proclaiming proud that they are inhabitants of "our" village is one of the ways how to build social capital. The important is not to depress these people by huge bureaucracy. The LAGs should be a good organization for covering activity of such people. They can add some material resources and also strategic dimension to these activities. But the LAGs contribution to the municipalities' development was not unambiguously proved.
