Evaluation of Gold Market in China
Kokeš, Ondřej ; Stará, Dana (advisor) ; Srbek, Pavel (referee)
The Chinese gold market has become the number one spot for gold trading and it will keep the strong momentum in the future. This would not be possible without the blessing of Chinese authorities, notable governmental agencies and economic progress. Among the factors influencing this growth are the regulations which are put in action by Chinese government through its central bank (People's Bank of China). At the time of globalisation nothing is isolated anymore. Chinese gold exchanges are taking more and more from the world's exchanges. For the thorough understanding why China has become the number one in the gold production and consumption it is important to understand its history. Without its wisdom and knowledge. It would be futile to try to comprehend why are the Chinese people so obsessed with gold and why they prefer one part of the gold market to the other. The Chinese gold market has a bright future ahead and it grows stronger every day.

Macroeconomic View of Development and Current Condition of Economy of Zimbabwe
Hornofová, Petra ; Stará, Dana (advisor)
Zimbabwe's independence was declared in 1980. At that time local government took over a very prosperous economy which had almost no competition on the African continent. Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe who is in office since the establishment of the state until now and is known for his controversial decisions brought the local economy into a recession. This economic decline has had a great impact on the population and it has escalated in a humanitarian crisis. Hyperinflationary episode in Zimbabwe has brought with itself a very high rate of unemployment and the large depreciation of the local currency, which is not already in use. Zimbabwean Dollar was replaced by other currencies like US dollar or the South African rand. To understand this issue it is necessary to analyze the possible causes of the hyperinflation that were originated mainly in the local government system. Currently in Zimbabwe is continuing several various government programs to stabilize and refresh its economy. In case of keeping current relative political stability has Zimbabwe's economy chance to to return itself slowly into original state of prosperity.
Funding of Health Care Service of Federal Republic of Germany
Adámková, Klára ; Stará, Dana (advisor) ; Jindřich, Jindřich (referee)
Financing healthcare is a problem not only in Germany but in many countries of Europe. Increasing total expenditure of health care resulted from many reasons, such as the aging population and the associated declining number of young people who contribute to the system. Another problem of financing health care, are ever increasing prices of medical devices, drugs, materials and energy. Since the beginning of the health system, Germany has been trying to stabilize the system through many reforms. The largest part of the revenues of the health system consists of contributions from members of statutory social insurance. Yet in Germany, financial participation in patients was implemented almost from the beginning of the health care system. Private costs are the second largest holder of health costs. Over the last 20 years, Germany has been among the countries that have a relatively balanced budget for financing health care. Among the most advanced countries in the world, which is seen in total expenditure of health care, had these expenses in recent years at around 11 percent of GDP.

Use of Precious Metals in Mintage
Jeřábková, Anna ; Stará, Dana (advisor) ; Srbek, Pavel (referee)
The paper is focused on the use of precious metal, in particular gold and silver, in the coining process. The first part of the paper searches for the growth of coining process on the Czech territory since its very beginning until the 21st century and development of selected mints and their positions in a given period. Simultaneously, together with the mint development, the paper describes the issue of coins, the method of the coinage, the coin visual aspect, and, marginally, the coin falsification. For reason of better orientation in the mint & coin history, the paper seeks to depict particular periods of the Czech currency. Following the coins, another issue, medals, is described, thereby giving a comprehensive summary of the Czech coining process. The above description is followed by the practical part that analyses price development of specific precious metal depending upon the currency rate of CZK versus USD in the period of 1991 - 2015. Following the price development, investments in precious metal are evaluated. These are evaluated in relation to two ways of investments. One of them is the option of investment in a commemorative coin issued by the Czech National Bank and minted by the Czech Mint; the other one is an investment in gold-based coins. The paper concludes with an analysis of activities of and management by the Czech Mint, being the only mint in the Czech Republic.
