Design of a complex automated system for aquarists
Hedvíček, Michal ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Uher, Miroslav (advisor)
Thesis deals with the theoretical design of an automatic control system for the aquarium and following simulation software environment Proteus ISIS. Due to simulation program can verify the behavior of the microprocessor in the specified functions, the correctness of electrical connections and errors in source code. The second part is analysis of commercial systems, their characteristics and applications. Apart from available commercial systems, there is a basic overview of commonly used peripherals in the aquarium, including their comparison and evaluation. Furthermore, the implementation of a complex system is done and the procedures and methods needed to set up the system are described. This topic also deals with cooling and reliability tests.
Loop Powered Field Instrument with HART Interface
Kunz, Jan ; Havránek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes design and development of creating field instrument demonstration kit. Kit is capable of measuring multiple sensors such as thermocouples, RTDs, or pressure sensors, analogue sensor simulation is also provided. Sensor’s side is isolated from output, which is composed of 4 - 20 mA current loop and HART interface. Current loop also provides power supply and kit can communicate via HART also when alarm current (3,2 mA) is set. Basic safety features like open wire detection, over and undervoltage protection are also implemented.
Technological influence over parameters structure tooled surface
Kunz, Jiří ; Bumbálek, Bohumil (referee) ; Prokop, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of parameters structure tooled surface, it contains their division and description including schematic pictures. Next thesis describes technological influence, which them mostly affect, completed detailed description each of them. In next chapter are processed two practical measurements. Both of them are specialized on sizes of selected parameters structure surface, first measurement is in addition completed about size accuracy. End of thesis is devoted theoretical and recommended values and comparison these values with results previous experiments.
Measurement of energy harvesters
Kašpárek, Ondřej ; Pikula, Stanislav (referee) ; Kunz, Jan (advisor)
Over recent years the power outputs of piezoelectric energy harvesters have increased to the point where they rival other types of energy harvesting and therefore their sufficient parameterization is necessary. Four piezoelectric PVDF films - DT1-028KL, DT1-052K, DT2-028K a LDT2-028K made by SENZOR SOLUTIONS TE Connectivity were parametrized by two created systems of measurement with force strain. Power outputs of these films when pressed with harmonic force signal with 3 Nrms amplitude are in nW and transferred energies after force impulse with size 300 N are between hundreds and tenths of fJ. Furthermore, values of quality factor, resonance frequency, optimal load resistance and maximal power stability were determined.
Automatic acquisition of values from measurement devices without communication interface
Dohnálek, Martin ; Čala, Martin (referee) ; Kunz, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the matter of optical character recognition from displays of measurement devices without communication interface. This would allow carrying out automated experiments using cheaper or older gear, which is not endowed with means for direct connection to a computer. Input image necessary for the character recognition is acquired using a camera pointed at a display of the device. The recognition is afterwards performed on periodically captured image based on an already existing dataset for particular apparatus. The output of the algorithm is a file containing recognized values, units, and timestamps of the recognition. The tool for creating datasets was designed as well. The achieved speed of recognition (as fast as 34 ms per iteration) during practical testing confirmed the sufficient optimalization of OCR algorithm. On the other hand, the determined hit rate of recognition abiding specified conditions was nearly 100 %. Lastly, the resistance to misalignment of display and sensor plane was monitored. The OCR algorithm is resilient to horizontal tilt up to +/- 5° and vertical tilt up to +/- 20°.
Gas Flow measurement
Majvald, František ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focussed on thermal flow meters. There are shortly described basic characteristics of flow and basic terms in flow measurement and its opportunities. The principles of operation of thermal flow meters and its implementation is described closely. With sensors developed by the company of IST AG called FS2 and FS7 was done series of measurements, like measurement of time responses, supply demands, and measurements in the view of determining of mathematical models of the sensors. Mathematical models were determined in a few different ways and its dependence on ambient temperature was found. Thanks to measurement were designed universal electric circuit controlled by microcontroller Arduino Mega 2560. Microcontroller keeps sensors in constant temperature difference mode. There were made trial measurements with designed electronics and the suppression of temperature was checked.
LabVIEW graphs generation via DIAdem
Kučera, Karel ; Čala, Martin (referee) ; Kunz, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a program, which will create charts and safe using DIAdem. The program is divided into two parts, one in LabVIEW and the second as a script in VBS. The resulting solution can create and parameterize the graph purely from the LabVIEW environment without the need to run the script directly.
Thermal Mass Flowmeter
Mlčoch, Albert ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of a mathematical model and practical implementation of a flowmeter based on the thermal principle. The range of the proposed flowmeter is from units of kilograms per hour to lower hundreds of kilograms per hour. The design of the flowmeter is non-invasive to the flow channel, the heating element is located outside the pipe. In this paper, the flowmeter parameters are identified and a temperature regulator is proposed. Measurements are made on a test bench. The results of the measurements are discussed. Modifications to the existing hardware are suggested.
Simulation tool for fixed-point arithmetic
Grézl, Vojtěch ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Čala, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on creating tool for simulating calculations with fixed point. This tool simplifies and increases the efficiency of performing operations with values of different data types. By calculating and graphically displaying absolute errors, which creates a conversion of values between data types and conversion through maximum absolute errors, the user can evaluate whether this conversion is optimal or not. After getting acquainted with this issue in the theoretical introduction part, the design of the practical part follows, which summarizes the implementation and procedure of program design in the LabVIEW 2021. Process of draft of the practical part is based on attributes of LabVIEW and it’s part FPGA module and aim on creating of transparent and user-friendly user interface. The output of the practical part is a tool that works with the created VI, containing a sequence of different operations with different input and output data types. The program is used to convert numbers of different data types to another type, mainly for a conversion to a fixed point data type. The user gives the main direction by creating a sample VI, the operations of which will then be performed. Other parameters that the user can set and affect the program are listed on the user interface.
Kibble balance
Tomanec, Jakub ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis consists of three sections. The first section explains the revision of the international system of units (SI), which took place in 2018 at the 26th General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM). The second section explains the concept of Kibble balance and introduces some of the created projects. In the third section of the work, the prototype of Kibble balance was realized. The fourth section contains the measurements of the prototype’s properties of the and the evaluation of the measured data. In the last section, possible sources of uncertainty and their possible solutions were evaluated.
