Physical properties and combustion characteristic of fuels
Nejezchleb, Radek ; Skryja, Pavel (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is creating an open calculation tool for determination of elementary properties of gas fuels and calculation of basic combustion characteristics. The theoretical part is focused on chemical equations by combustion, basic equations for calculation of process in gases and calculation of heating value, explosive limits and Wobe index. The most used gas fuels are described furthermore. The next part of bachelor’s thesis is focused on oxidant, especially on the calculation of composition of moist air and mixing of air and oxygen. Equations for the computing of enthalpy of gases and adiabatic heating temperature are noted at the end of the theoretical part.
Small heating units - emissions - fuels - choice
Coufal, Martin ; Vondál, Jiří (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
The first part of thesis focuses on an overview of small heat energy sources. Second part is an overview of available fuels and their related emissions. The third part is the creation of the basic algorithm to select the heat source. The last part is application of the proposed model to the virtual house Cesmína.
Design of horizontal combustion chamber
Nesiba, Petr ; Nekvasil, Richard (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design of the water cooled horizontal combustion chamber for testing of burners with the maximum heat duty up to 2.5 MW. The design of horizontal combustion chamber is carried out with regard to the testing of different burner types. The proposal is elaborated up drawing documentation. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes briefly basic necessary theory about the classification of combustion chambers and burners. It was described advantages and disadvantages of basic group of burners. Last chapter of the theoretical part deals with a description of burner testing. The practical part of the diploma thesis consists of necessary calculations required for the determination of basic geometry of the combustion chamber and verification of the assumptions first of all the assumption of the bubbling evaporation of the water on the internal shell. It was carried out the strength calculation of the combustion chamber according to the standards and by means of Finite Element Method.
Design of an experimental fixed-bed reactor for biomass combustion research
Kubisz, Pavel ; Dvořák, Radek (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with constructional design of an experimental fixed-bed reactor for biomass combustion research. This device is designed to facilitate good control of the combustion process and collection of quality data, particularly temperature, pressure, gas composition and mass loss. Obtained data is for creating mathematical models of combustion of solid biomass in the fixed-bed.
Heatin of blocks of flets
Kubiš, Richard ; Dvořák, Radek (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
This work has a recherche character treats of different ways of heating in blocks of flats. In the first part are described suitable fuels for heating. This is followed with an overview of heating systems with describtion their advantages and disadvantages. In the account is also taken localization of heating unit with respect to the energetical point of view. In this part are also mentioned cogeneration systems. The second part concerns legislature of the Czech republic refering to the heating of flats and shows the way of heating expenses division among flats.
Heating of blocks of flets
Kresa, Jakub ; Tabasová, Andrea (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the ways of heating a block of flats and statement of costs in accordance with valid legislation. First part of this thesis describes different types of fuel use for heating of blocks of flats. This section is the most comprehensive and it is one of the key parts of this work. It is pointed out in the applicable fuel for residential building and is partially included in the preparation of hot water. It is also prepared an overview of individual heating systems for block of flats for the location of heat sources. The second crucial part of this legislation concerns with problems associated with central heating and making of the hot water for block of flats, where you can see some imperfection of the legislation. It is suggested here, the different distribution of the storey and central heating.
Project of solar cell warm-water heating system for family house heat-water-supply.
Číp, Vojtěch ; Kermes, Vít (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
Subject of these work is project of solar cell warm-water heating system for family house heat-water-supply. Summary of basic improvement solar energy is included. There have been several possilble variants for water heating in house. Examination economic return after instalation solar system will be compare for these individual manners of heating.
Design of Energy Systems Using Hydrogen as Fuel
Slováček, Adam ; Kermes, Vít (referee) ; Houdková, Lucie (advisor)
The subject of diploma thesis is to gather knowledge in the production and use of hydrogen. This work is devoted to a comparison of the previously existing processes for producing hydrogen, where the vast majority is filled of fossil fuel. Another section is devoted to new materials for the study based on a number of selected patents and the experiment promising new method for decomposition of water. Based on available data will be carried out energy balance and consequently will be drafted energy system using hydrogen as fuel. In conclusion will be future possibilities evaluated in the field of hydrogen energy.
Combustion of renewable liquid fuels
Nejezchleb, Radek ; Skryja, Pavel (referee) ; Kermes, Vít (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with combustion of liquid biofuels, and possibility of using liquid biofuels for lower heat output power units. Overview of basic usable liquid biofuels in Czech Republic is executed in the beginning of the thesis. This part is focused especially on production method and energy effectivity of rape-oil methyl ester (RME) and bioethanol production. Overview of basic atomization method of liquid fuels is executed in next chapters. The focus is stressed on pneumatic atomization, especially effervescent atomization method, which was used in practical experiment. Practical part contains fossil fuel and selected biofuel (RME) combustion test executed on burner testing device. Basic combustion properties was found and test plan was made before executing the test. Various operating conditions are compared in terms of atomization quality, combustion quality and geometrical characteristics of flame. Usability of tested liquid biofuels for lower heat output power units is evaluated in the conclusion.
Modern methods of wet cleaning flue-gas
Kubíček, Jan ; Kermes, Vít (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
Research of conditions when sulphure dioxide is absorbed from flue gas, is the main objective of this master's thesis. Efficiency of this flue gas cleaning was measured on an experimental device, which consist of an absorption column filled with structured packing’s, and another component so-called "O-element". Further, a possibility of upgrade this "O-element" to tread more flue gas is presented.
