Preparation of chameleon coatings using an Ionized Jet Deposition (IJD) technique is reported in the present paper. IJD is a new flexible method for thin film deposition developed by Noivion, Srl. The chameleon coatings are thin films characterised by a distinct change of their tribological properties according to the external conditions. The deposited films of SiC and TiN materials were examined by the Raman spectroscopy, SEM and XPS. The results of the Raman spectroscopy have proved an amorphous structure of SiC films. The data from XPS on TiN films have shown that the\nfilms are heavily oxidized, but also prove that the films are composed of TiN and pure Ti. The SEM provided information about the size of grains and particles constituting the deposited films, which is important for tribological properties of the films. Deposition of the chameleon coating is very complex problem and IJD could be ideal method for preparation of this coating.\n
Phase transformations in modern titanium alloys

This study deals with phase transformations in metastable β titanium alloys, focusing on the investigation of evolution of nanoparticles of thermodynamically metastable ω phase. For the purpose of this research, single crystals of two metastable β titanium alloys - LCB (Ti-6.8Mo-4.5Fe-1.5Al) and Ti-15Mo (in wt. %) - were grown in an optical floating zone furnace. It was established by differential scanning calorimetry that the phase transformations occurring in the material did not change significantly as a result of the single crystal growth process. Using single crystal X-ray diffraction, the shape and the size of ω particles were determined in a series of aged samples. The lattice parameters of ω particles and the β matrix, as well as the misfit between the two structures were calculated. The β phase was found to be locally deformed in compression around ω particles. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) experiments revealed a spatial ordering of ω particles in the β matrix in a disordered cubic array with the basis vectors along 100 β directions. The SAXS data also allowed the evaluation of the mean ω particle sizes and distances and confirmed that the ω particle growth obeys the t1/3 law following from the Lifshitz-Slyozov-Wagner theory. In situ SAXS performed during isothermal ageing at selected...

Title: Study of ultrafine-grained materials prepared with different methods of severe plastic deformation Author: RNDr. Tomáš Krajňák Department: Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Kristián Máthis, PhD., Department of Physics of Materials, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague Abstract: Interstitial free steel with ultrafine-grained (UFG) structure was prepared by high-pressure torsion (HPT). The development of the microstructure as a function of the number of HPT turns was studied at the centre, half-radius and periphery of the HPT-processed disks by X-ray line profile analysis (XLPA), positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) and electron microscopy. The dislocation densities and the dislocation cell sizes determined by XLPA were found to be in good agreement with those obtained by PAS. The evolution of the dislocation density, the dislocation cell and grain sizes, the vacancy cluster size, as well as the high-angle grain boundary (HAGB) fraction was determined as a function of the equivalent strain. It was found that first the dislocation density saturated, then the dislocation cell size reached its minimum value and finally the grain size got saturated. For very high strains after the...

Title: Physical properties of ultrafine-grained magnesium based alloys prepared by various severe plastic deformation techniques Author: Jitka Stráská Department / Institute: Department of Physics of Materials Supervisor of the doctoral thesis: Doc. RNDr. Miloš Janeček, CSc. Abstract: The objective of the doctoral thesis is the complex investigation of ultrafine-grained magnesium alloy AZ31 prepared by two different severe plastic deformation techniques, in particular the hot extrusion followed by equal-channel angular pressing (EX-ECAP) and high pressure torsion (HPT). These severe plastic deformation methods, and as well as many others, are described in detail in the introductory theoretical section. Experimental results are summarized in the following experimental part of the thesis. Mechanical properties, lattice defect structure and especially microstructure were investigated using various experimental techniques. Thermal stability of ultrafine-grained microstructure of AZ31 after EX-ECAP was investigated and the activation energies for grain growth in different temperature ranges were calculated using kinetic equation for grain growth and Arrhenius equation. Results from the dislocation density measurements proved temperature ranges of the recovery and the following grain growth. Results from the...
Using of mobile robots in the garden
Kalvoda, Lukáš ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Lacko, Branislav (advisor)
This thesis is focusing on robots and their use in household, especially in outside garden. Goal of thesis is indicate what term robotics means at first, whats hiding behind this word and determine current problems of robotics in Czech republic as well as abroad and outline what meaning this branch has. Further in this thesis I will describe service robotics in great detail, where the category of garden helpers belongs. Then the ways of using of robotic lawn mowers will be described. In the last part I've concentrated on adventages and disandventages for users, eventually on some problems that may occur. In this part I've also mentioned the selling prices of chosen lawn mowers.
