The knowledge from the long-term investigation of natural and induced seismicity in the Moravo-Silesian region
Holub, Karel ; Kaláb, Zdeněk ; Knejzlík, Jaromír ; Rušajová, Jana ; Dombková, Anna
Present paper describes some results of basic research in geophysics and geophysical instrumentation in the last 25 years of the Institute of Geonics AS CR, v.v.i. existence. This research was aimed at development of instrumentation for local and regional networks and theit operation. During the operation of permanent station OKC and temporary seismic stations some microearthquakes, mining induced seismic events and quarry blasts were recorded and investigated.
Stress-strain behaviour research of rocks under dynamic loading
Petroš, V. ; Bagde, M. N. ; Daněk, T. ; Hofrichterová, L. ; Hudeček, V. ; Michalčík, P. ; Slivka, V. ; Špinka, O. ; Vavro, M. ; Žůrek, P. ; Holub, Karel
The aim of this project was oriented to determination of physical-mechanical characteristics of rocks under dynamic load using laboratory device MTS 816 Rock Test System. The research was drawn to investigation of surrounding rocks properties, i.e. rocks from the rock massif, where anomaleous geomechanical events do occur.
Assessment of Rockbursts parameters inferred from in-situ observations
Petroš, V. ; Holub, Karel
The aim of this article is to determine maximum stress due to seismic waves propagation through the rock mass. For this determination, rock density, velocity of seismic waves propagation vp and vs and ground amplitudes were introduced. For the evaluation data recorded at 3 underground seismic station from the time period 1993-2002 were used. To this set of data only rockbursts with some consequences in mine were included. Based on these analyses, predominant frequencies of seismic P and S waves, dependences of ground amplitudes to scaled distance and stress at the head of seismic wave were calculated.
Seismological observations during the experiment CELEBRATION 2000 and their preliminary evaluation
Holub, Karel ; Rušajová, Jana
During seismic experiment CELEBRATION 2000 some explosions were also recorded at the seismological stations situated on the Moravian territory. Based on readings of stations OKC, MORC, VRAC and seismological polygon near Frenštát p. Radh., an attempt to determine velocities of the seismic waves propagation Pn, Pg and Sg was realized.
Contribution to long-term observation of the seismic regime in the Ostrava-Karviná coal basin
Holub, Karel ; Rušajová, Jana
Seismic activity in the Ostrava-Karviná Coal Basin is continuously monitored by networks of seismic stations within the local as well as regional networks. Results of interpretation of seismic data proved the seismic method to be an valuable tool in geomechanical practice.
Stress evaluation on the head of seismic wave
Petroš, V. ; Holub, Karel
Paper is intended to investigation of ground velocites of the seismic waves propagation in the rock mass during rockbursts and other anomalous geomechanical events. These data will be used for experiments performed with the aim of comparison the behavior of rock in-situ and under laboratory loading.
Seismic response to mining reduction in Mines in the Ostrava-Karviná Coal Basin
Holub, Karel ; Stodulková, S.
Based on long-term seismic monitoring, the influence of mining reduction to the level of seismic activity was investigated. Using data from the period of temporary mining reduction (July 1999) and a month before and after this period proved the obvious decrease of seismic activity.
Monitoring of the safe conditions of mine working
Holub, Karel ; Stodulková, S.
One of the characteristic parameters of the seismic regime is the course of cumulation and release of the deformation energy. Information concerning these changes have been usually presented in the form of Benioff diagram.
11 Years of the underground seismic network in the OKR
Kalenda, P. ; Holub, Karel
In 1988 the underground digital seismological network in the OKR was put in trial operation and since 1989 it has been in a routine operation. In the paper all changes in data interpretation approaches applied during its 11 years existence and futher possibilities in operation improvement of this monitoring system are discussed.
Present knowledge based on the seismic station Ostrava - Krásné Pole (OKC) operation
Holub, Karel ; Knejzlík, Jaromír ; Rušajová, Jana ; Růžek, B.
In the present contribution, description of software package for seismic data transmission and processing in OS Linux are given. Some examples of type analysis for several focal zones of mining induced seismic events and preliminary velocity characteristics are also presented.
