For this I chose Heinrich Mann and his novel Professor Unrat, written at the start of the twentieth century, the narrative by Anna Seghers, Der Ausjlug der toten Maedchen, in which the author takes a look back at the period of Nazi Germany and fmally contemporary author, Markus Orths and his novel, Lehrerzimmer. My goal when starting this piece of work was to learn about the behaviour and attitude of teachers towards pupils in a variety of time periods during the twentieth century and to compare this with the methods and approaches used by tutors today. For the individual chapters, I began by dedicating biographies for the specific authors. I followed this by focusing on the content of their works and then fmally analysing the behaviour of the literary figures represented as teachers. I tried to establish whether or not their method of teaching or rather approach towards pupils concurred with the notions about how a teacher should appear nowadays. In the novel Professor Unrat, I came to the conclusion that the...

Woman's place in the choosen Elfriede Jelinek's and Judith Herman's works
Brožová, Michaela ; Glosíková, Viera (advisor) ; Haupenthal, Thomas Maria (referee)
Hlavní téma obou autorek představuje relativně uzavřený svět hlavní ženské postavy, do kterého vstupují další postavy, spoluutvářející charakter jejího světa.

TITLE: Adalbert Stifter as a Narrator of Everyday Life SUMMARY: The subject of this thesis is the person and work of the writer Adalbert Stifter and the possible approaches to him. The object of this work is to observe the typical features of Stifter's work, to find possible reasons for its uniqueness and possible ways to it. Because I would like to achieve these objectives, I concentrate on the characteristics of Stifter's life and work and by their possible connection which can be seen in his "gentle law". Then I focus on the approaches to Stifter, that is on the reception of him and his work and on the concept of some possibilities for lessons. In my work I arrive at the conclusion that Stifter's life and opinions are mirrored in his work, that the approaches to him were and still are manifold and that he offers some possibilities for lessons and also for all readers. KEYWORDS: Biedermeier, gentle law, order, reception, lessons
