Optical dichroism in vortex electron energy-loss spectroscopy
Předkládáme semianalytický plně retardovaný model interakce nefokusovaného VES s bodovou chirální polarizovatelnou částicí a numerický kvazistatický model interakce nefokusovaného VES s chirální ,,makroskopickou`` nanostrukturou.

Fabrication and characterization of nanostructures with functional properties in the field of plasmonics
Analysis of Nanostructures by ToF-LEIS
Duda, Radek ; Král, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mašek, Karel (referee) ; Dub, Petr (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with the utilization of TOF-LEIS analytical method in the area of nanostructure analysis. A new procedure for depth profiling of the elemental composition of the sample, based on the alternate measurement with the DSIMS method, was established. The TOF-LEIS method is able to detect the interface between the layers before its mixing by the ion beam of the DSIMS method. Furthermore, a procedure of TOF-LEIS spektra modification was established to obtain the actual concentration of elements in the sample by reduction of a multiple collision contribution. By comparison of TOF-LEIS spectra with the results received by the DSIMS method the ratio of molybdenum and silicon ion yields was obtained. In the next section advantages of the TOF-LEIS method in combination with XPS during analysis of thermal stability of gold nanoparticles are presented. The mutual complementarity of both methods is shown and final conclusions are supported by electron microscopy images. The final section deals with a newly assembled apparatus for the TOF-SARS analytical method and shows its possibilities regarding the detection of hydrogen on the graphene.
Autonomy of an artwork outside of the institutions of art
Hauser, Filip ; Piaček,, Martin (referee) ; Dub,, Petr (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
This dissertation thesis aims to reflect on the current evolvement of public spaces and increasingly common discussions of the lay and professional public about its impact and importance for a democratic society. The main topic, "Autonomy of an artwork outside of the institutions of art", focuses on searching for the autonomy of artwork in public spaces in the context of how the artwork was placed there. The thesis describes specific artworks which were placed into the public space using different methods, such as art competition, no competition, as a gift, or in a way of temporary art. These methods are examined to find the degree of autonomy. The degree of autonomy of artworks in public spaces is determined based on the applied analysis which, among other things, focuses on how efficient the result is in comparison to the method of placement. The field research resulted in complex, subjective, sculptural and artistic opinion on the current practice of placement of artworks into public spaces. Such professional and relevant opinion was then presented to the responsible authorities which have a significant impact on the creation of public spaces. The author aims to apply the acquired knowledge in practice by offering his professional opinions for the new elaboration of the government strategic document called "Politika architektury a stavební kultury České republiky" (loosely translated as "Politics of Architecture and Building Culture of the Czech Republic"), which is created by Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic. The main results of the thesis describe the efficient approaches which lead to cultivation of public spaces and the significant role of art in them. Such approaches were in the thesis demonstrated by civic influence on the government strategies or civic activism in a form of citizens' initiative called "Je to i tvoje město" (loosely translated as "The city is your too") which actively participates in the public debate in Jindřichův Hradec, town on the South of the Czech Republic.

Application of Plasmon Polaritons in Nanophotonics
Břínek, Lukáš ; Petráček, Jiří (referee) ; Dostálek,, Jakub (referee) ; Dub, Petr (advisor)
Práce pojednává o vlastnostech plazmonických antén v infračervené a viditelné oblasti. Práce zahrnuje výrobu, měření a numerické modelování optických vlastností antén.
Interaction of metallic nanoparticles and fast electrons
Konečná, Andrea ; Tyc, Tomáš (referee) ; Dub, Petr (advisor)
Scanning transmission electron microscopy is one of the essential techniques suitable not only for imaging of nanostructures, but also for various kinds of spectroscopy and, as it was recently demonstrated, nanomanipulation. In this thesis, we deal with an interaction of fast electrons and metallic spherical nanoparticles, specifically aluminium and gold nanospheres. First, we present both analytical and numerical calculations of electron energy loss spectra and their analysis for different parameters. The main part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical calculations of forces acting on the nanosphere due to the electron passing in its close proximity. Based on our novel results revealing a time evolution of the mechanical force, we also propose a possible mechanism responsible for the nanoparticle movement in electron microscopes.
