Analysis of critical parameters of the batteries for space applications
Šimek, Michal ; Šedina, Martin (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of lithium-ion batteries for space applications. Primary and secondary electrochemical sources and their comparison are described in the paper. The main part of this work deals with lithium-ion batteries, their history, properties and used materials, deals with the use of li-ion batteries for space applications in terms of temperature and describes the effects of temperatures on li-ion batteries. At the last chapter deals with a lithium plating and his detection. In the practical part, a methodology for the detection of cast plating is proposed, which I then test on a number of cells, which I measure at various practical workloads.

Organic solar cells for photovoltaic conversion of solar energy
Šedina, Martin ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (referee) ; Weiter, Martin (advisor)
This work is focused to study organic materials for solar energy conversion into electricity and characterization of conversion processes. Materials and their blends with semiconducting properties such as photoconductivity were studied. Thin films of organic materials and their blends were prepared by spin-coating method and characterized by optical methods (UV-VIS and photoluminiscence spectroscopy), by current-voltage characteristics, by impedance spectroscopy method, spectral response measurement of photocurrent and method of transient photoconductivity. Structural factors influences the conversion of solar energy into electricity were observed. Based no these results, the materials and their blends useful for photovoltaic applications were determined. The dependence between photoconductivity of thin films and theirs structure was also discussed.
Adaptation of the time resolved optical spectroscopic aparatus
Koutný, Jan ; Šedina, Martin (referee) ; Vala, Martin (advisor)
The theme of the bachelor's thesis is an assembling of an apparatus for measurement of transient absorbance by flash photolysis and a testing its functionality by detecting of benzophenon triplet states absorbance. The theoretical part focuses on basic principles of optic spectroscopy, flash photolysis and an instrumentation used in spectroscopy. Special attention was paid to the components used for constructing of the experimental apparatus. The practical part concentrates on a realization of the apparatus itself, a testing of basic experimental dependences and a determining of time dependence of transient absorbance of triplet states.
Study of sensoric properties of organic semiconductors
Saska, Pavel ; Šedina, Martin (referee) ; Salyk, Ota (advisor)
Compounds based on diketopyrrolopyrrole are organic pigments that behave as semi-conductors. Their analogues with pyridyl side group are due to their sensitivity to hydrogen potentially useful as hydrogen sensors. The aim of this work was to examine properties of sensors with an active layer of diketopyrollopyrolle derivatives. The sensors were tested on an apparatus built for this purpose at FCH VUT in Brno. More specifically, changes to conductivity of these sensors in the presence of hydrogen under various conditions were studied.
