Implementation of mechanisms providing Segment Routing for IPv6 (SRv6) using the FD.io VPP platform
Mjasojedov, Igor ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Koláčková, Aneta (advisor)
The development of the mobile networks of fifth-generation (5G) accomplishes the requirements of transported services. New applications and services put high pressure on bandwidth, reliability and flexibility of the data transport. Due to this trend, network technologies need to be developed to address it and ensure transmission quality. This master's thesis aims at the Segment Routing (SR) concept and its commitment to improving transport quality in the transport part of 5G mobile networks. SR allows the integration of network programming into the traditional design of transport networks. SR uses either MPLS (SR-MPLS) or IPv6 (SRv6) on the forwarding plane. This thesis aims at SRv6. The main goal of the thesis is to design and implement a communication scenario for the transport part of the network with the SRv6 protocol. Docker platform is used to create a topology with all its nodes. The VPP platform is used to enable SRv6 on top of this topology. VPP has the ability to be configured via NETCONF protocol thanks to the Honeycomb agent, which can process NETCONF messages and propagate them to the VPP configuration. This configuration is done by the program Ansible, which can send NETCONF configurations to all SR nodes with Honeycomb installed. Testing and verification of the topology with all SRv6 policies is handled by the TRex traffic generator.
Simulation scenarios for analysis of behavior of transport networks
Koláčková, Aneta ; Koton, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the issue of mobile networks, protocol suite TCP/IP and routing protocols. It focuses in particular on the functioning of the transport part of the third and fourth generation mobile networks and intends to fnd the most suitable options for their emulation. The master’s thesis compares two selected emulation programs through a series of tests that were performed on a server created for these purposes. The main outputs are two detailed comprehensive scenarios and solutions have been developed. The frst scenario deals with the overall transport network confguration. The second scenario is based on the frst one and is focused on troubleshooting of particular issues in this network. Their implementation helps to analyze the behavior of the transport part of the mobile network.
Computer networks based on VyOS and Cisco IOS operating systems
Jalovecký, Denis ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Koláčková, Aneta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on configurations and issues of network protocols in operating systems of Cisco IOS and VyOS routers. One of the main goals include choosing the most appropriate emulator and installation of this emulator in virtual enviroment. The thesis also describes the properties and differences of protocols and their application in the network operating systems mentioned above. After learning about possibilities of emulations, two scenarios, in which the protocols were applied and analyzed, were created. These scenarios meet standard of a lab excersise which takes around one and a half hour. The most frequent issues and their solutions are mentioned as well. }
Optical Fiber Output Power Temperature Sensor Measuring Optimization
Koláčková, Aneta ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of measuring optic power on the output of single mode fiber, used like temperature sensor, using birefringent. Thesis describes the basic knowledge about measuring power, standards and function of optical power meters. It also deals with polarization and representation polarization states using the Poincare sphere. In the practical portion is measured optic power on the output of the temperature sensor with a photodiod and after that is verifed by a polarimeter. The aim of this thesis is miniaturization of ending device for measuring intensity of light, that means replacing expensive and large polarimeter by cheap and small photodiod.
Analysis of simulation tools supporting Network Slicing in 5G networks
Kislerová, Helena ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Koláčková, Aneta (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to study the available network simulation tools supporting network slicing in 5G networks, their subsequent analysis and selection of the most suitable one based on this analysis. The second part of the work is focused on creating a simulation scenario in which the individual slices of the network are overloaded in some parts of the day. This scenario is then simulated and its results are evaluated at the end of the work.
Modeling the Basic Principles of Communication Technologies
Ruiner, Michal ; Koláčková, Aneta (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of 5 laboratory tutorials where the basic principles of communication technologies are modelled. A reader is apprised with the available software first for the simulation of network technologies. The simulators and emulators are compared. Packet Tracer, a software developed by the Cisco company, is chosen for the lab exercises and Wireshark, a network protocol analyzer, for the traffic capturing on a local PC. Then the reference model ISO/OSI is described for the basic introduction to the principle of network communication. The Chapter 3 explains the basic problematics of network paths searching, the routing table contents and division according to the type of routing and routing protocols groups. In the next chapter, particular communication protocols used in the labs are analyzed in detail. Final part briefly describes the implementation of all laboratory exercises. Laboratory tutorials are provided in the appendices.
Implementation of mechanisms ensuring “RAN Slicing” in the simulation tool Network Simulator 3
Motyčka, Jan ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Koláčková, Aneta (advisor)
This thesis deals with the topic of network slicing technology in 5G networks, mainly on the RAN part. In the theoretical part, basic principles of 5G network slicing in core network part and RAN part are presented. Practical part contains a simulation scenario created in NS3 simulator with LENA 5G module. Results of this simulation are presented and discussed with the emphasis on RAN slicing.
Integrating Real-Environment 4G and 5G Mobile Data Patterns into Network Simulations for Delay Analysis
Kolackova, Aneta ; Jerabek, Jan ; Hosek, Jiri
This article presents a simulation testbed for analyzinga mobile transport network using open-source networkingtools and protocols. The topology was designed according to the5G transport network architecture, with Segment Routing forIPv6 (SRv6) technology and The Fast Data Project Vector PacketProcessor (FD.io VPP) utilized for packet processing. The Trextraffic generator was used to simulate data transmission, andthe Docker platform enabled centralized access and managementof the topology. Real data patterns collected from one cell sitewas inserted into the created topology to create output forfuture research. The created testbed provides a valuable toolfor analyzing the mobile transport network’s performance andfuture optimizing based on needs of network slices.
