Life in the Baroque Period in Contemporary Prints

This diploma thesis focuses on the life of our ancestors in the period of Baroque as it was preserved in the graphic prints of baroque masters. It is presented on chosen samples of contemporary works of art, which are assorted into individual chapters, so every sample appropriately documents the topic of the specific section. In the Introduction, this work deals with the development of graphics techniques and their characteristic features, so they can be correctly interpreted in the relation to individual described graphics works in the following chapters. There is also mentioned the importance of art collecting, thanks to which there is enough material preserved available for analysis. In the following chapters the graphic prints are presented according to chosen human activities, how baroque man perceived the space, their life in everyday mundaneness, but also their relation to the war. A separate chapter is also devoted to works dealing with contemporary religious issues. The final chapter then complements the whole with interesting facts from the individual selected areas and also brings additional information to technical aids, without which perfect graphic sheets would be.
The History of Religious Conquests in the Mělník Region in the Era of Peasant's Uprisings and their Reception in the Contemporary Literature

The subject of this thesis is the situation of our ancestors in the period before and during the peasant uprising in the 17th century and their fight for religious freedom in Mělník region. More specifically it deals with the analysis of the uprising process in the monitored area, but in the relation to neighboring regions and also with capturing the responses of these struggles in contemporary literature. This work, in the first chapter, describes a general order, which prevailed in the state and church during the 17th century, till the uprising of the peasants. In the second chapter, it describes more precisely prerequisites necessary for the emergence of the uprising and some of its aspects. Third chapter describes the progress of the uprising in the region of Mělník. The situation on individual manors is captured as described by preserved sources. Fourth Chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the literature, which reflects monitored period. Captures the feedback of the foreign press, which the uprising caused. Furthermore, there is discussed prose inspired by these historical events, as well as infrequent response captured in the poetry.
