Cost-benefit analysis of implementation of data boxes in companies in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse costs and benefits caused by the establishment of data boxes in companies in the Czech Republic. This work starts with basic facts about eGovernment and general information about data boxes. This introduction was chosen to help even to inexperienced readers in this area to create a fundamental view and gain necessary knowledge about the topic. Next chapters are already focused on costs and benefits of data boxes, same as practical part based on survey. In this work, there are also outlined some likely developments of eGovernment and data boxes as well. Within writing of this bachelor thesis, I was gathering information from accessible bookish and electronic sources and from my knowledge I had gained earlier due to my interest in this area.
Analysis of open source business intelligence market

Thesis analysis the situation in business inteligence market and focuses on open source applications. Thesis includes insight into the past, present and future trends in this field. Functionality of open source applications is compared among them and also compared with functionality of traditional vendors. This section describes positives and negatives of open source model. Final part includes results of survey launched in Czech republic. Consecutive analysis is focused on particular findings. Displayed informations show current widespread of open source business inteligence applications in Czech republic and future forecasts in this market area.
Analysis of groupware applications in SaaS model

This bachelor thesis is focused on general characteristics and analysis of the Software-as-a-Service groupware applications. The main goal of this work is to choose, evaluate, compare and recommend suitable groupware applications for small and medium enterprises. The study of characteristics of groupware and Software-as-a-service business model is based on expert books and internet sources. The analysis of the market is built on a complex research of the internet and the use of the technological reports about groupware products. The selection of the products that are discussed in depth is based on the criteria coming from Gartner and Forrester reports. The evaluation methods are built on software product quality methodology, web content accessibility guidelines, and SaaS groupware specifics. The benefit of this work is the generated method for evaluating groupware applications taking into account general requirements of small and medium enterprises. Thanks to this method the chosen products are reviewed, compared and evaluated. Another contribution is a list of Software-as-a-service groupware products currently available in the market. The first chapters describe the terms Software-as-a-service and groupware in wider context. The next chapter presents the list of Software-as-a-service groupware products. The following chapter is about determination and creation of the evaluation methods. The last part contains evaluation, comparison and recommendation of groupware applications. The study is concluded with a summary of results emerged from the research.
Evaluation of the groupware applications on the Czech market

This thesis on the topic tools for collaboration support is focused on groupware applications dealing with more than one function simultaneously. The aim is to determine a group of major products on Czech market, to test their functionality, to evaluate their mutual advantages and disadvantages from user's perspective and determine the most suitable applications for small and large groups. To achieve above stated aim, first, we have to note, what the tools for collaboration are. Second, we have to determine what features should be included in the groupware. Third, we need to specify what criteria and weight which we intend to evaluate these instruments with. Another important step is to determine the specific applications that will be tested within the frame of this thesis. For this purpose serve especially the results of keyword search on the Internet and informal small-scale statistical surveys obtained by author of the theses. The main part of the thesis includes testing of chosen applications depending on its availability. The greater part of chousen applications is being tested in the trial version with the temporary license for use. In the end of the, the results gained by tests will be compared and evaluated.
The development of the IT project management methods

This case study describes the development of Project Management as a specific discipline and the development of methods of information technologies project management. The case study objective is to describe the general development of the discipline and then dwell on the development of methods of IT project management and determine criteria for choosing appropriate methods for projects and firms. In the case study there is a definition of project management as a specific discipline with the description of the basic terms. Then there is the description of the phases of the discipline development indicating events important for the discipline development. Thereafter is the more detailed description of the chosen IT project management methods with the following comparison of the methods according to the defined criteria. In the end there is a description of three projects and three IT firms, and basing on the method comparison the preferable method for the situation is determined.
Hardware for Small Companies

I have been encountering the concept of hardware for many years and I am really interested in it. That is why I have decided to deepen my knowledge in this subject field and to write the thesis named Hardware for Small Companies. At the present time, when the modern technologies are used in many departments, is hardware becoming more and more demanded goods. Also the fact, that hardware as a structural unity cannot be upgraded to more efficient unit, may assist. If the user wants to upgrade one concrete part, he can't do anything else than to buy a new, upgraded unit. The spectrum of the hardware conception is very wide and I pursue mainly the part, which can be used in the small company environment and its accessibility at the Czech market. Then I mention the history of hardware and its prominent world producers. Writing the theoretical part, I used web-based sources and the scientific literature, that is concerned with the conception of hardware the most. Writing the practical part, I made use of the knowledge that I got from my studies and from the online offers of the prominent hardware suppliers. The main contribution of the thesis is the project described in the practical part. This project will serve as a rough basis for getting a capital grant for the creation of the new training center in the pension Dubina in Litoměřice.
Corporate reporting on platform MS SQL Server

The thesis dicusses the business reporting using the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 platform. The first part examine the technical aspects of the problem and studies the Integration Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services applications as well as the possibilities of their integration with other business information systems. The second part analyses the possibilities of using the Microsoft's Business Intelligence by a business establishement and its gainings. It also presents several practical examples of application.
Electronic invoicing with the application of format ISDOC

The objective of this thesis is to analyse the format of electronic invoicing ISDOC. The thesis focuses on purpose of the establishment of this norm and its practical application in the Czech business environment and in the process of a communication with the state administration through data boxes. It examines legal aspects of the electronic invoicing in the Czech legislative system, as well as the electronic signature usage. Furthermore it compares the format of the ISDOC norm with formats of the electronic data exchange systems, especially with the complex EDI and EbXML standards. The thesis points out the advantages and disadvantages of ISDOC standard. The economic system WinStrom 10 was chosen as a practical example of the electronic invoicing system. Finally, the thesis proposes the direction of the ISDOC future development, based on own research on small and medium enterprises invocing systems.
Analysis of benefits and costs of implementation of data boxes from Czech firms´ point of view

This thesis focuses on issue of data boxes, specifically on their use by companies that operate on the Czech market. In the theoretical part, the data boxes are characterized as a whole. In this part there are also set costs and benefits that occurred with the introduction of information system data boxes. The core of the practical part is questionnaire which is directed at companies with issues regarding the introduction of data boxes and the associated costs or benefits - it is a verification of the hypotheses set out in the theoretical part, i.e., whether the companies actually realize any benefits and what costs ISDS brings them. The last part deals with possible future developments.
Electronic payments on the internet and their practical implementation

The number of economic opportunities on the Internet is growing together with the intensive expansion of internet users. It is important to connect the internet sale of goods and services with electronic payment methods in order to be effective. The aim of the thesis is to describe electronic payments placed on the Internet, description of their different usage and popularity in accordance with geographical location of the customer, assets and risks, and payment costs and fees. This text offers facts that the provider should consider before choosing some payment method, and on the other hand facts which the payers (end users) consider important. Paid-service provider is introduced to different payment instruments with reference to the use in Czech internet environment. Each type of payment method is illustrated by an example with detailed description of installation progress in practical part of the text.
