Virtual Interactive Walk through Scenery
Halas, Petr ; Dvořák, Radim (referee) ; Stružka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes the issues of modelling a scenery in OpenGL. It contains theoretical principle of 3D displaying with OpenGL functions and description of some of the technologies made for realistic objects and efects modelling. These technologies are demonstrated on an application modelling an interactive walk through scenery, which is eventually tested with questionnaires, filled by a group of volunteers.

Development of land use around south Moravian water reservoirs and their hinterlands
Havlíček, M. ; Pavlík, F. ; Halas, Petr
The paper evaluates changes of land use in floodplains and background of three South Moravian reservoirs - NovE Mlýny, Vranov and Brno. To follow the development of land use, old topographical maps at a†scale of 1:28 800, 1:25 000 and 1:10 000 were used from the years 1836-1841, 1876, 1933, 1943, 1945, 1953-1955, 1990-1991, 2010. The paper distinguishes 9 basic categories of land use: arable land, permanent grassland, garden and orchard, vineyards and hop fields, forest, water area, built-up area, recreational area, other area. Changes in land use have taken place not only in their own floodplains but also in their wider hinterland (within 1 km). In the evaluation period, all three water reservoirs and their hinterlands registered a†significant decrease in the proportion of permanent grassland and loss of arable land. In the case of NovE Mlýny there was also decrease in forest areas. In the immediate hinterland of water reservoirs Vranov and Brno there was growth of recreation.

Paper to the recognition of changes of tree and herb layer in natural mountain forests of Pop Ivan Mount, Ukrainian Carpathians
Lacina, Jan ; Halas, Petr
In this paper we used repeated phytosociological relevés attempted to detect changes in vegetation of Pop Ivan Mount in Ukrainian Eastern Carpathians after 70 years. Twelve permanent plots located in the forests of the 6th spruce-fir and 7th spruce vegetation belt was used from three periods 1935, 1997/1998 and 2007. We found that between 1935 and 1997/1998 the vegetation underwent significant changes of species composition, while tree and shrub storey turned into more than herbaceous understory. On the contrary, during the ten-year period 1997/1998–2007 changes in species composition were not significant. The vegetation studied in 1935 were characterized by significant proportion of beech (Fagus sylvatica) and fir (Abies alba) in the main level of the tree layer (I+II) and higher proportion of the heliophilous herbs, such as Campanula patula subsp. abietina, Festuca violacea or Hieracium transsilvanicum, while the turn of the 20th and 21st century there was greater representation of fir (Abies alba) and beech (Fagus sylvatica) in the timber layer (III and IV), spruce (Picea abies) in the main level (I+II) and some ruderal plant species such as Stellaria nemorum or Urtica dioica.
