Šenkýř, Michal ; Galamboš, Leo (advisor) ; Lánský, Jan (referee)
The goal of this work is to build an application for full-text indexing of PIM data (according to the JSR-75 specification) on a portable device. This application consists of two parts: 1) Client, which runs on the portable device, which supports Java 2 Micro Edition with the JSR-75 extension. This part creates inverted lists, sends them to the server and allows sending of search queries and displaying their results. 2) Server, which runs on the Java virtual machine on a personal computer. This part uses the search engine Egothor 2 to create a file index and search it. To cut the costs tied to the transmission of necessary information and to ensure security of transmissions, the communication between the client and the server will be compressed and encrypted. The subject of this work is primarily the study of the selected encryption and compression methods sufficient for the correct mplementation and the verification of the availability and stabilty of the existing J2ME platform API and the Egothor2 search engine.
Half-automatic recognition of text structure
Šenkýř, Michal ; Kolman, Petr (advisor) ; Skopal, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of an algorithm that, using some initial hints from the user, converts data in HTML documents generated from a database and inteded for human readability, into a structured form suitable for computer processing. The input document is assumed to have some structure (usually a visual layout) and the user must provide a sample of semantically labelled items in the document. The output is expected to reflect the semantic structure of the provided data. The resulting application is composed of an editor part which includes a graphical tool for easy labelling of sample items, and a server part, which includes a tool for the subsequent mass processing of additional documents. The application was tested on real estate advertising webs and the results of the testing were analysed. The thesis also surveys other existing applications based on similar principles and provides their comparison.
