Preprocessing of electrophoresis samples for subsequent classification
Krupka, O.
This paper deals with the preprocessing of the elektroforeogram images that were created with respect to highest quality possible. The main goal is the preprocessing of the images based on the contrast enhancement and the detection of lines and bands.
PSG-Based Classification of Sleep Phases
Králík, M.
This work is focused on classification of sleep phases using artificial neural network. The unconventional approach was used for calculation of classification features using polysomnographic data (PSG) of real patients. This approach allows to increase the time resolution of the analysis and, thus, to achieve more accurate results of classification.
3D Dental Scanner
Kotek, L.
This paper is about 3D scan of plaster dental casts. The main aim of the work is a hardware and software proposition of 3D scan system for scanning of dental casts. There were used camera, projector and rotate table for this scanning system. Surface triangulation was used, taking benefits of projections of structured light on object, which is being scanned. The rotate table is controlled by PC. The camera, projector and rotate table are synchronized by PC. Controlling of stepper motor is provided by microcontroller ATmega128.
Heuristic model in joint EEG-fMRI analysis
Janeček, D.
This work deals with the joint EEG-fMRI analysis based on the heuristic model. There is described principle of the heuristic model which assumes that the BOLD (blood oxygen level depend) signal measured by fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) is directly proportional to the spectral shift in the EEG signal. The paper describes algorithm of calculations which was implemented and tested on real data from 22 subjects. The study also monitors effect of different EEG information selection from electrodes of interest (averaging or principal component analysis).
Segmentation of Ultrasound Images Based on Active Contours for Image Registration
Hesko, B.
This paper describes the implementation of the segmentation method applied on ultrasound images, which is based on active contour models. The physical meaning of these models is represented by energy minimalisation of initially defined curve. Energy could be written as a weighted sum of internal and external energy. Internal energy is strictly dependent on the properties of the curve and external energy si represented by a feature extracted from the image. First and second derivative of the curve is used to calculate internal energy and Laplacian of the image as a feature to calculate external energy. Total energy is minimised by iteratively moving points of the curve. Achieved results and persistent problems are evaluated, suggesting the way the future work should lead.
Compensation Of Smile Effect Distortion In Electrophoretic Gel Image
Dvořáček, T.
This paper is engaged in the issue of automatic detection and removal of smile effect geometrical distortion in agarose gel electrophoresis images. Based on created databank of electrophoretic phantoms, an algorithm that is able to repair mentioned smile effect distortion was created. In this paper, two gel images with applied removal algorithm are shown with percentage description of reparation level.
Digital Image Analysis of Mitotic Chromosomes
Buchta, M.
The present work describes the cytogenetic from the point of view of image processing. We propose an algorithm which is able to treat every aspect of this analysis such as segmentation and separation of chromosomes. Moreover, our algorithm is tested on images of chromosomes labelled with 2 different methods coming from various free databases.
Acoustical detection of gunshots in the open
Hrabina, M.,
This paper descibes development of reliable gunshot detection system without need of localization, with emphasis on low power consumption for use in counter-poacher devices primarily protecting elephants in Africa. Intended system will work as a binary detector of gunfire without further classification of used fire-am. Dominance of right gunshot detection over false alarm is crucial. Recognition systém is based on LPC coefficients, correlation against template and comparison of spectal energy in sub-bands.
Implementation of AES Algorithm on FPGA
Smékal, D.
This paper presents a VHDL (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) implementation of 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) on FPGA card (FieldProgrammable Gate Array) using Virtex-7 FPGA chip manufactured by Xilinx company. In this project our main concern is to implement all modules of this algorithm on hardware.
TCP Vegas Algorithm for Controlling Throughput at the Transport Layer
Pánek, M.
In order to easily send data between two end elements without congestion, methods that suitably control flow of date and evaluate possible overload state are necessary. One such method is to control the data flow directly on the transport layer. This layer offers a range of mechanisms dedicated to deal with this issue. The aim of this paper is focused on TCP Vegas for its ability to shape the data flow and the advantages and disadvantages of its use in the network. The paper also shows the behavior of two parallel data streams using TCP Vegas.
