Survey and evaluation state of timber structures

The thesis is focused on the assessment of two wooden roof structures of the building, which is located in Brno on the street Rumiště 8. Parts of the work are also theoretical knowledge of roof structures, building technical survey and diagnostic methods. Rating roof truss was based on a survey of sensory and instrumental methods. In the first step were measured dimensions of roof truss members and were determined roof structures. In the next section was researched damage of elements and his causes. Rehabilitation solution was established for each type of damage to the components resist any attack as long as possible. This report had been prepared for the property owner who plans complete reconstruction.

This thesis dealt with the issue of an impact of mildew on wine quality. It clarifies the negative effects of mold which already occur in vineyard on grape bunches and the rest of the vine bush. It also explains that the mold is not getting into the wine only from mold infected grapes but also during the wine making and wine improving in cellar management. The thesis analyzes the characteristics and impacts of mold secondary metabolites and their wine quality affecting changes. It further describes a method of determination of certain substances that affect organoleptic wine characteristics and even threaten a human health.

The purpose of this Bachelor thesis was to monitor health of the Norway spruce (Picea abies L.), which is currently strongly endangered by biotic and abiotic factors. For the health detection of the woods are used non-destructive diagnostic machines. Measuring were in the territory of the Training forest enterprise Masarykův les Křtiny, Polesí Habrůvka. For the measuring were used acoustic tomography, which is based on passage of sound waves and electrical impedance tomography which is also used for detection rot electric resistance. Using this tomography was evaluated the presence of the rot in the trunk and its range. Total number of the trees measured by acoustic tomography was 30 trees, 15 trees were measured by electrical impedance tomography. For determination of the accuracy of measurement electrical impedance tomography, were compared the results with the specific tree cut-outs. For measurement of acoustic tomography was observed velocity changes because of the damages. Thanks to the detection rots and cavities in the trunk was also partly determined the stability of the tree.

Presented diploma thesis evaluates current state of wooden parts of timber roof truss of Saint James´ church in Brno using Resistograph 4453. The aim of presented diploma thesis is to discover internal defects of structural framework caused by wood-destroying insects and rotting, determination and exact inspection of the extent of biotic damage. For those purposes a method of resistance drilling was chosen. After a complete evaluation of the measured values, the results were marked in the drawings and enrolled into tables. The degree of damage of each part was stated in separate tables. Within remedial measures it was determined whether to maintain or replace parts of the structural framework.
Biodiverzita dřevních hub v urbanizovaném prostředí České republiky

The thesis deals with wood fungi, especially in the urbanized environment. In the field-work, various types of wood fungi were registered. The aim of this monitoring was to identify or verify their frequency, the most common host species, the effect of the in-fection on vitality, state of health, and tree stability. In addition, this work compares the differences between species of wood fungi occuring in urban environment and those found mainly in forests and nature reserves, whereas the most frequent species are described in detail. Last but not least, there are listed cases of tree failure due to wood fungi in the urban environment. Fomes fomentarius, Phellinus igniarius, Phellinus ro-bustus, Ustulina deusta, Inonotus hispidus were found to be the most common types of fungus in cities. Concerning the biodiversity of fungi, there were discovered significant differences between the city and the forest environment, particularly due to the share of coniferous and deciduous trees. As for the found cases of tree failure, they show that Fomes fomentarius and Ustulina deusta are the most common causes of the infection.
Zhodnocení poškození porostů ohryzem na území Lesního družstva obcí Ledeč nad Sázavou

This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the gnawing presence and follow-up rot in the vegetation which is administrated by The forest cooperative in municipality Ledeč nad Sázavou. Those damages are caused by moufflons. The literature overview pays attention to wood-decaying mushrooms, especially the Stereum sanguinolentum, which have the secondary impact of gnawing. The thesis also deals with the cause of animal damages and the possibility of their elimination. In the practical part of the thesis it was determined the ratio of trees which are damaged by gnawing and the ration of trees damaged by gnawing with rot signs. Afterwards the average age of gnawing damages was determined in 3 vegetation groups. According to the research it was determined the economic loss at amount of 463 663 Kč. In the thesis there is also a suggestion for the elimination of the gnawing source.
Monitoring houbových organismů podílejících se na rozkladu bází kmenů jasanů (Fraxinus excelsior) napadených nekrózou jasanu Hymenoscyphus fraxineus

This thesis deals with the monitoring of fungal organisms involved in the decay of bases of common ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) affected by the ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) infection. Monitoring was carried out in winter 2018 on 50 trees. Samples were taken from tree bases and sorted into 5 health categories. The total area of samples and the area affected by rot was measured in a laboratory. Fungal organisms were isolated from infected and healthy wood and identified by DNA extraction and sequencing. Finally, the determined species were statistically evaluated by a combination of constrained and unconstrained ordination methods. In total 436 pure cultures of fungal organisms were isolated. 23 species of fungal organisms were determined, of which 21 were in symptomatic wood (with a visible rot) and 5 in asymptomatic (healthy) wood. Xylaria polymorpha was confirmed to be present in most trees, it was found in 27 samples - 16× in asymptomatic wood and 11× in symptomatic wood. Hymenoscyphus fraxineus was isolated once from the 1st health category and once from the 5th health category from symptomatic wood.

The thesis deals with the possibility of utilization and sensitivity of the trunk examination by tapping in assessing the defects affecting the stability of the trees. A dendrological survey was conducted in the area of interest and then there were trees selected to assess the presence and extent of the cavity by tapping. The tapping using a small mallet was done on selected trees at the certain level. The tapping was subjectively evaluated by listening. The sound of tapping was recorded using the microphone and the recorded sound was further analyzed. At the same levels like tapping there was used the ArborSonic 3D Acoustic Tomograph to determine the extent of the cavities in the trunk of selected trees. The same extent of observation was also performed on a sample of a trunk with and without cavity in laboratory conditions. The values obtained were compared with each other for the purpose of verifying usability by tapping using a small mallet while assessing the trees to determine the presence of the cavity and its extent.
Comparing health condition of the trees in the park Zámecký and the park Husovy sady.

the purpose is to summarize the historical events in the park until the present. Performs an inspection of the park, checking damage by both biotic (fungi, insects) and abiotic factors. At castlep ark will be performed inspection whether anything has changed since the previous investigation. On this basis, there will be in the end performed comparison of the state of health and occurrence of disturbances of individual parks. There will be valued the presence of pathogenic fungi, insect pests and abiotic damage. In all cases there will be done photographic documentation.
